- Strain:
I've been looking for a 1:1 CBD strain, which I've never tried before. Prefering Sativa-dominant with low THC% for reduced psychoactive effects.
CBD Auto Compassion Lime, a 2017 cup winner with its 8-9% CBD/THC content, ended up being my choice. Very curious about the results.
- Soil:
Past experiences were in living soil, trying coco coir for the first time.
- Germination:
Inserted seeds in Bio Tabs soil plugs which were insterted in in 300ml solo cups of coco coir, all sokaded in 5.9 adjusted demineralized water with CaMg and various stimulators for testing.
- Plan:
Observe and keep the strongest for full grow.
🌱 Week 1 Updates:
- Anna & Diana: Doing well.
- Kati & Rosie: Not looking good, no clue why.
- Lili: Struggling to break free, didn't helped her, ended up 👽.
- Elie: Seems to be going downward.
Note: preparing living soil (for next grow) under the peace of wood.
🌱 Week 3 Updates: Transplant
- Anna & Diana: Settled into 8-liter pots. All going fine.
- Lili: Still good in her solo cup, developed some algaes on roots due to transparent cup, gonna put tape all around the cup.
🌱 Week 6 Updates:
- Anna & Diana: Not sure what's going on, doing each waterings at pH 5.9 with 10/20% runoff, it went down to 4.5 -.-
I have read that trying adjusting runoff pH in coco is chasing 👻👻, anyway - gave a flush at 5.8.
- Lili: More pale than her sisters. Applied Boom Boom spray to give her a quick nitrogen boost 🚀.
🌱 Week 7 Updates:
- Anna: Doing well. Still some nutrient imbalances, but under control. pH/EC runoff are in the good ranges.
- Dianna: Going fine. Runoff EC spiked to 2.07; planning a gentle flush with half input EC.
- Lili: greener foliage came back, still budding well in her cup.
🌱 Week 8 Updates:
- Anna and Diana:
Noticed a cool touch of purple and the appearance of oval-shaped leaves ✨.
Despite watering twice daily and ensuring +20% runoff, the EC is climbing, gonna give a gentle flush again.
- Lili:
Just chilling in her cup, observing her bigger sisters.
PS: Camera's been upgraded.
🌱 Week 9 Updates:
Anna: Horror Story 😱
Spotted bud rot on the big main cola, had to decapitate her. Hoping I removed it all and it's not spreading; doing daily checks. Other than that, things seem to be going well.
Diana: Odd Beauty 👽
She is foxtailing quite a lot. Have read that this trait is relatively common in the CBD Compassion genetics.
Lili: Small Wonder ✨
She have a big and nice main cola compared to her size. Also, her odor is quite surprising compared to her sisters's lemon scents, leaning more towards forest and pepper.
🌱 Week 10 Updates:
Leaves going pale green and slightly yellow - clear signs of senescence.
- Anna: Showing a good amount of amber trichomes there and there.
- Diana: Predominantly milky trichomes with some amber.
- Lili: Going well, trichome status not checked.
Plan:
As CBD does not decompose into CBN as fast as THC, I suppose that I'm on the good track for a balanced end product.
Let's start the flush of the tree sister's crew next week!
Flushing coco to EC 0.2 using FlashClean and then plain water went well overall, with leaves fading quite rapidly. I would have liked to let it go further, but I discovered a few nanners on Diana (see the last picture). No big deal - it's time to chop. Overall, both Hanna and Diana may have gotten a bit too much light, but they still look good. Meanwhile, little Lili is looking quite impressive 💚.
My growing session with CBD Auto Compassion Lime was driven by my quest to find a strain with a more balanced THC/CBD ratio due to my sensitivity to higher THC levels. This experience confirmed my need to avoid THC-dominant strains. Despite this, I still find growing cannabis to be a rewarding hobby. Seeing the plants flourish under my care is both fulfilling and a mindful practice.
Regarding my experience on GrowDiaries, I've found the platform to be abundant in resources and brimming with interesting information. The community is welcoming and always ready to share knowledge. I appreciated the opportunity to share my grows and learn from others here.
