This Canadian Turkey Day we are thankful for the ability to grow 🔥 at home with access to great products! We are also thankful to GrowDiaries for this invaluable diary function and for the community of helpful gardeners. We are 11 weeks to solstice so this will be the last grow to bring some sunshine into the new year. I grew these strains outside and now we are trying to bring them inside. Our friendship plant has outgrown her pot and ‘pot head’ is ready for a new hairstyle. She’d make an adorable mother with a clone from this grow! Then set up a terrarium for her and train her real pretty. Oct 9: dropped seed in shot glass of water Oct 10: paper towel on plate with seed mat Oct 11: root emerging, paper got a little dry, spritz spritz and fingers crossed Oct 12: roots look good, planted in 2oz cup of organic potting mix that I figured would be fine for the first week, placed under humidity dome, in the terrarium. I instantly hate the potting mix. It’s dusty and heavy. Shit. Big mistake. Oct 14: We have a seedling! Oct 16: She hasn’t grown! And the other is pushing up but still wearing her coat. Oct 17: Our seedlings are not taking off and I’m really annoyed at the substrate I used already, it’s so compact. I’m still waiting on the grow bags that I ordered, arriving tomorrow.. I’m not happy yet with any of the potting mixes I’ve been testing and this is the worst one yet. It’s crucial I figure out a mix I can manage because I’m a chronic overwaterer and I want to give my roots a fighting chance. We are upgrading this grow with a pro-mix cx grow bag and praying it’s a keeper after all these fails. If I like it then I can easily pick up a bail. I know they use these commercially here. But she’s already stunted? Will she make it? 🤨 should I just start over? Spritz spritz. Seed hat is just sitting above the soil also not moving. While I wait for my substrate, I used up all that organic potting soil that I now hate to refresh the friendship plant and for propagating her cuttings. Anything would be better than the 500ml of dried out stuff she had left from 3 years ago! She deserves better but this is exactly the type of crap she thrives on. I’m grateful that she keeps coming back for me and I’m grateful for all the baby plants she lets me share ❤️ and I’m grateful I’ve been buying small bags of substrates thus far. Started 1 original lemon pie seed as a back up since this germination round appears to be a bust. Oct 18: so the girl I had all my hopes pinned on died, spritzed her with water and she lay down. The soil is like wet cement, my fault but an expensive mistake. Lost 10 seeds plus a bunch of other herbs I was starting 😭 Still waiting on delivery of my good soil. Update: pro-mix cx bags arrived and I rehydrated one with about 3 litres of calmag enriched water. There’s about 500ml overflow that I’m recirculating to make sure we are truly hydrated over the next 24 hours while I wait for a new tribute to come forth.. I wasn’t going to bother but decided to transfer the little seedling that was wearing a hat into a pinch of the cx and she seemed to perk up almost immediately once out of that other crap. Wishful thinking? We will know soon. 2 hours later and she’s definitely growing! We have an OG survivor for this grow and can proceed. We are very GRATEFUL

We got our lone survivor from the germination debacle planted up in her 1 gallon grow bag which we rehydrated for 24 hours with calmag solution. Light is dimmed to 20 watts, 1 foot from plant and added a homemade humidity dome. Might still be too close, I’m not familiar with this light but I like that the dimmer is built-in. She looks cute in her new home! She’s been under 24/0 since she popped so we are moving to 20/4 for the rest of this week and then next week we should be at 18/6. I’m feeling very grateful that she survived for us after such a rough start. It was beautiful watching her finally lose the seed coat and open up for us once we extracted her from the other substrate. Now the test will be to see if this new substrate can handle my watering style! We are having our first family dinner tonight since Turkey Day so it will be nice to have something to show of the project we started together! And for that I’m grateful too!! Much love and happy growing ❤️🌱 **** Day 4: She had a drop of dew this morning at lights on. Took off the dome for an hour and then I replaced it with the lid off. She’s lovely and straight, free of the last piece of casing without any scars. She doesn’t look like a refugee anymore. I love having her on display as a visual reminder to be grateful and giving Gratitudes practice tips. ´´Use Visual Reminders. Because the two primary obstacles to gratefulness are forgetfulness and a lack of mindful awareness, visual reminders can serve as cues to trigger thoughts of gratitude.´´ Jade plant was watered in with gp3 at transplant, showing new growth at every tip, her cuttings have dried and I’ve started the weekly sprays of vitathrive on mom and cuts until mom’s pot has completely dried and cuts have roots. I’m so grateful for her resilience. She’s my muse 💪 And now to sit with my plants with gentle music, a joint and a cup of tea, breathe deeply and take a moment to practice gratitude ✌️🖖

She’s been on 18/6 light schedule last 3 days. I didn’t give any additional water last week, just sprayed coco surface a few times to keep moist. Gave the first proper watering/feed today. 500ml to 10% runoff. Nothing much happening on the surface but I’m sure she must be busy laying down nice roots! Today I’m feeling eternally grateful that I have good weed to help cope with my MS flare ups, especially on spastic days like this. I’m grateful that my medicine has been lawful for almost 2 decades and that the stigma of cannabis use has basically evaporated with recreational legalization, making medicating that much easier. I am grateful for sensible drug laws and the expanding knowledge and quality improvements that comes from proper research into this lovely plant. I hope for decriminalization, legalization and pardoning of possession charges around the world and for everyone who would benefit from this plant to have safe access to it **Update: one of the original catnip seeds has actually germinated 🌱 there will be gifts for the kittens after all **I’m grateful to my brother for surprising me this week by gifting/installing lights and tarping my leaky patio 😍❤️ he said he was inspired by our gratitude grow and now we have a nice smoking spot ready for the winter! Happy growing my friends 🌱

November 1: Day 15 from shedding her seed hat and she’s starting on her 5th node.. we will likely top her at the end of the week to keep her short and start the manifolding process. Daily hand watering the coco to run off at lights on. Just mixed up week 3 nutrients following the GP3 schedule but we didn’t add the rezin yet because we plan to veg her for a few more weeks and will add rezin the week before flower as recommended. She will continue getting the week 3 nutrients mix while we train her out. Temps steady at 77 lights on, 70 lights off. Light now at 50%, still 12 inch hang. She is growing beautifully. She shows guttation at lights on. Very pretty. Increased the fans during lights off when humidity climbed to 70+ but couldn’t get it below 65%rh. Tried moving her to a more suitable location. Put together my 2x3 tent and popped her on a shelf. Having the opposite problem with low humidity and can’t get it above 45%.. lots to think about.. She was topped twice in 1 session

She’s adjusted to the new environment, looking perky and her 4 tops are growing out now. Still using week 3 of the GP3 schedule. Watering with collected rainwater because it’s been raining daily and we are being grateful for the rain Decided she’s getting flipped to flower in the next 2 weeks so started adding rezin to the feed schedule and starting to tie out her new tops to keep her on the shorter side.

10 days ago I topped her twice in one session before realizing I should have let her recover from the 1st prior soft pinching the side shoots. Well, that mistake didn’t slow us down so it’s all good. Today she has her 4 tops pruned for a 3rd topping and I started training the branches for the 8 tops. The branches are uneven and I tried tying the larger branches lower in the hopes I can even them out. This is my first attempt at a mainline so I’m kind of winging it! She’s got lovely thick and juicy stems and I know she just wants to grow tall. You can see her roots are really filling out this 1 gallon bag. I will upgrade her to a 2 gallon at some point but I’m not ready yet. Still trying to figure out the timing on this grow. I attempted to clone her very first top for fun using pro-mix and after 10 days I finally peaked and can confirm we have roots! Pothead might have a new hairstyle soon! Some cool things I noticed after changing her lighting.. under the previous “100 watt sunlike led with additional IR” she grew kind of stretchy but after changing to the viparspectra 100 watt her first set had only 4-fingers (due to change in lighting apparently!) and her new growth is thicker, tighter. We are still being grateful for the rain. We are in the middle of a long storm and humidity is 90+ outside. Temps freezing at night and central heating has been turned on. This has not only allowed us to collect plenty of rainwater in the time it takes to huddle under the porch to smoke a joint (!) but also has screwed up the environment in all the tents and we are learning lots about regulating VPD and reducing wild swings in both temperature and humidity. This is a very confusing and useful experience! She’s watered twice daily to runoff. GP3 nutes. We also continue to grow our gratitude practice daily while watering the plants at lights on. We play them some music, share a pipe, breathe deeply with them and count our many blessings. Happy growing 🌱

It’s been a busy week. I’ve started a night shifts and my sleep is a mess. I have her the 3rd topping this week and defoliated all before I realized I didn’t take a before photo. But she’s doing good and I’m enjoying the training with this delayed veg. Her little clone (first to) has fully rooted the 2oz cup and is holding up well on her own. I’m going to transplant her soon. The 4 cuts from her 2nd topping are showing roots too (it’s been 8 days), I’ve started opening the ziplock to allow them to adjust to lower humidity. No clones from the 3rd topping, I just pinched back the growth. Feed hasn’t changed, environment is stable, watering once daily.. just waiting for flowering space. Very happy with her progress and loving growing in coco and not worrying about wet feet. 4 days later.. all the clones are doing well out of the humidity dome, all 5 cuts rooted, nice!

Transition Transplanted into 2 gallons of pro-mix cx in a fabric pot. Forgot to take a photo of her amazing roots! Using wire to hold the branches at even height to each other and still at 18/6 to root out. Will switch to 12/12 next week. Final training session 4 days after transplant: she has 16 tops, I’ve removed all the extra growth sites and did final defoliation. Adjusted all the wires, she’s more bushy on one side 🤷‍♀️ I’m really happy with how she’s turned out and her clones have all been transplanted up into 500ml cups of pro-mix cx getting week 3 veg feed schedule from gp3. We are very grateful for this gratitude grow to start off our perpetual harvest! Maintaining in the veg tent 18/6: - We have our Mama Gratitude Pothead! The first cut from our first topping has grown enough herself to be topped and pruned into an open cup shape! She will be kept under 18/6 light from now on to keep her in perpetual veg for taking clones. I will be feeding her 1/4 strength nutrients. We will treat her to bonsai-style root pruning to keep our mother small. - We have our first rooting clone from Mama Pothead dipped in pro-mix stim-root powder in 2oz cup of prom-mix cx sealed in a ziplock bag. Switched to flower December 7 - Our beautiful lady from seed goes into flower mainlined for 16 colas - We also sent to flower the 4 rooted clones in 500ml solo cups for 4 additional gratitude bud sticks! With gratitude, happy growing

We are very grateful for Pro-mix & GreenPlanet choosing us to receive some prizes, look what just arrived in the mail! Gratitude is settling into the flowering tent and is mid stretch. Humidity and temperature are much lower in here and she’s adjusted just fine. I’m not doing great with the hand watering, she gets watered x2 most days, but only once a day sometimes. Definitely drinking more. I should probably invest in an automatic watering system if I decide to stick with coco.

She’s tripled in size and doesn't seems to have stopped stretching yet. I had to zoom my camera out to get her photo. Moved lights up again and she’s back to being 6” under. Up they go again. Lots of nice pistils growing all over. She’s getting thirstier too, upped feeding to 2 litres a day to produce 10% run off (2 watering a day in total). I’m going to defoliate a bit this week. The last photo is of 4 of her clones, suppercropped in solo cups, growing at 90 degree angles 12/12 on a little shelf.

I hope she’s done stretching because she’s back to being 8” from the light and I need to readjust the way I hung it if I will need to raise to it any further.. she’s drinking about 2 litres a day in total, thirsty bitch, will be increasing frequency to 3 feeds this week. Leaves look lovely, buds getting hairy, trichomes appearing. Now it’s just waiting for her to bulk up over the next month or so. I’m very proud of her structure. Not noticing a smell yet, growers nose, I know she smells. Pothead has taken to pruning very well. Working on her open cup structure, defoliating and getting fed with GP3 veg nutes. She’s a beautiful little mother and she’s enjoying hanging out with the family in the living room under a little qb. She’s exactly as I hoped she’d be. Very grateful this grow is working out for me. We did our crash course in experimenting and dialling in our grow last season and this grow is proving that we learned a lot and it was worthwhile.

Feeding x3 daily, keeping the environment constant and waiting 🌱 Catnip finally established enough that we were able to prune back and start rooting cuts and it’s growing so well we can frequently pinch off leaves for the kitties. I stopped using the liquid weight. I don’t think I need any kind of sugars for growing like this and it’s definitely not helping my battle against a fungus gnat infestation. I don’t see myself using this indoors again. I will finish the bottle on my outside grow but won’t repurchase. Pro-mix goodies arrived today too 🌱❤️

stopped feeding nitrogen and increased bloom, smell is nice and lemony, not too strong but I have growers nose 😅 friend says it’s very noticeable when I open the tent 🤷‍♀️ watching, waiting, watering 3 times a day. Very resinous, hard to get good photos. Pothead was also given a hard pruning to take her back. She needs a root pruning too but waiting to see how this gratitude grow finishes before doing anymore training, might replace her with another clone if it outperforms her. Nah, decided to do the root pruning. We need the practice and if we’re going to keep her then she needs to be healthy. The catnip is flourishing too it loves being pinched daily for the kitties 😅

It’s getting close to the end for our gratitude grow! Look at that beautiful lady ❤️ we’ve cut back on the feed. Good timing because I used up my last bottle of massive anyway. Will start giving plain water soon. Waterings are still x3 daily by hand. I had intentions of setting up automatic watering but I’m honestly grateful for the time I’m forced to sit with and admire our lovely plant and enjoy the task. Bought some new plant saucers on rollers which has definitely made my life easier too. Pothead is recovering well from her root pruning a few days ago and has put out new growth already. She’s only getting 20 watts of led 24/7, lives with us in the living room, no smell, little fan nearby for circulation. Looking very good. The rest of gratitude’s clones, the funny looking right-angled super-cropped bud sticks in solo cups, are starting to smell really delicious. Pothead’s tiny clone that was put immediately under 12-12 from cutting, in only a shot glass no less, is extremely adorable but it’s clear that allowing the cuts to root and then veg another week at 18-6 increases growth significantly. If I do a sog in the future I will definitely give at least 1 week of veg.

Only ph adjusted water this week. I took down 2 clones for drying and defoliated gratitude a bit more today. Plants are ready for harvest and trichs are all milky but I want to see some amber and let the rest of the white pistils curl up. I’m going to stagger the harvest and set up a taste test. My grow buddy will be over next week to help me out of trim jail. The smell is suddenly loud, lemon, cream and fuel. I will take down the other 3 clones in a few days and might take the tops off gratitude because they are falling over completely from the weight, let the bottom finish another few days? Who knows. Depends on my energy. Pothead’s little clone is about 2 weeks behind isn’t she cute? Straight to 12-12 in a shot glass, transplanted week 3 when I got sick of watering every hour 😂

Final week, reduced 50% light intensity , pure water, flowers are heavy and falling over 😅 harvested all of her clones and hung to dry while we give her an extra week catnip propagation going well and the mom just started flowering pothead is ready for another clipping and we’ve decided she’s a keeper! She’s a clear winner in the pheno hunt- biggest nugs, strongest scent. Going to root a few clones for sog run next now that we know how she grows And today I’m so very grateful for family support. Bro come to help me out of trim jail and after an hour decided to invest in an electric trimmer for my project and said he had a new found appreciation for the plant and the growers ❤️
