Another decent week, got some height, unfortunately I have a few 3/4 fingered leaves, last week I had to adjust the light and temps tock a dive locally, so I’m hoping it’s just that, any insight to this issue would be handy if you have experienced something similar 🤙

There all looking good, not much height but very bushy, I’ve raised the light height in the hope they will reach up for it, try get some distance in the inner nodes before I start training them

Another decent week raising the light seemed to help them stretch a little bit before I started training, another quick recovery with all there heads pointing back up On to the next week hopefully flip them end of next week once I’ve had a chance to defoliate

This week was really just a maintenance week getting them ready to flip, switching out my lst ties for a better less damaging ones and a couple defoliations, I’ve moved one to a new home as 5 in a 1x1m was just to tight.

Another steady week, good bud and trichome development all round, had to defoliate again, I wasn’t ready for how bushy these were going to get, I’ll leave them be until the end now

Week 6 done, one seems to have smaller buds but more trichome development, that was the gamble flowering her with a mag deficiency, and the one on her own seems to be finishing quicker then the rest (better light I think)either way a week closed off,, on to week 7 🤙

Week 7 done, had a major issue with my lights turning off during there light cycle due to a faulty timer, and due to my panic I just turned them back on without looking at when the timer actually stopped, a lesson learned On the lookout for herms, but trichomes are clouding up with a few amber so hopefully I can harvest end of this week, hopefully dodged a bullet

Thoughts on heavy defoliation this coming week, it will be its last 3/5 days of flower, I have a high leaf to flower ratio on there colas and want to expose the lowers as much as possible, I’ve pulled them apart as much as possible but tight on space

Massive defoliation will likely lead to a huge metabolic shock to the plants, resulting in possible trichome loss of quality and slowing down final maturation too. Personally, I believe defoliation is really bad for plants and should be avoided at all costs. For best results and peak quality, I would just leave them be to do their thing with as little stress as possible. Trying to magically make lower buds do something special this late and this close to harvest is pointless, there just won't be enough time and if you wanted to do this, it should have been done before flowering commenced. Let them be......stress free and happy and accept your harvest for what it is and not worry about "what if". You are going to harvest plenty, freaking them out by defoliating and hoping to get a couple of extra grams is futile.

I was hoping they would be done after this last week but I think another week till harvest, unfortunately all the lower flowers are very wispy and fox tail like, I think this cultivar would be great for a mainline, or just more strategic with removing bud sites that are going to yield well, but another lesson learned 🤙
