All 5 seeds are germinated in about 2-3 days. Nr 3 is the fastest. Nr 5 the slowest. The soil i use is biobizz Allmix. I'm not planning to give them any other nutrients. This is the first time i grow phototype strains. So we'll see when it's time to change the light scedule to 12/12. I want to keep the plants low, so i will top and train them.

They grow not very fast, but they are growing :-) Day 9: They seem to grow faster now. 👍 Day 10: There are some new leaves that's are dark green and wrinkled. To much nutrients in the all-mix for this young plants? I hope it will recover. Day 12: indica #4 is growing weird

Day 15: They're looking pretty healthy. Working on their 4th node. In a couple of days when the 5th node appears I'll chop their heads off. I'm not sure what to do with indica #4. Looks like she splits herself. Probably nothing Day 17: waiting 1 or 2 days to chop. Day 18: #2 and #3 are topped for mainlining. Day 19: #5 and #1 are topped for mainlining. For the time being I just let #4 grow. Day 20: After 1 day recovering from topping, they begin to grow again. Day 21: Patience

Hello fellow growers.. pretty happy so far, but I've a question about Indica #4. I'm topping my plants 3 times to create 8 main cola's. #4 grows not symmetrical so I'm not sure where to make the cut. It would be great if someone can tell me.

Day 22: Patience. I did some LST on #4. Day 23: I accidentally gave #2 the double amount of water. I hope she don’t drown. I topped #4 (the mutant) twice...let's see what will happen. Day 24: Almost ready for second topping. The fanleaves getting huge. Day 25: #2 and #3 topped for 2nd time. I also made a new setup and added an extra growLED. 1x UFO 50watt, 1x Hans panel 50watt Day 26: #4 made 6 new branches. No more topping for this girl. #1 and #5 topped today. Next week Final topping i guess Day 27: Removed the fanleaves of #2 and #3. I'm trying to train them into a T shape instead of an Y shape. They are a little bit stiff so I will pull them down step by step. Day 28: Removed the fanleaves of #1 and #5. Also trying to make a T shape so I pulled the branches a little bit down. I think i'm a bit late with that, because the branches are still stiff. Even when I try it a couple of hours after watering.

Day 29: Not much going on. I pulled the two mainbranches down a little bit more. Day 30: Again a little lower. Allmost a T shape. I hope to top them for the last time at the end of the week. Day 31 I did some lst on #4 again. #3 had her final topping. Tomorrow I will bend her to the side and maybe I remove the fanleaves. For now I let it recover. Day 32 I removed the fanleaves of #3 and tied her down. I topped #2 for the last time. Tomorrow I remove the fanleaves. #4 was very bushy so I removed the fanleaves and spread the branches some more. #1 and #5 are not ready yet to top, maybe tomorrow. Day 33 removed the fanleaves of #2 and lst #1 and #5 topped for the last time. No more topping for for the girls (only LST). I'm not sure how long they have to grow before switching to 12/12 Day 34: I removed the fanleaves of #1 and #5 and tied them down. #2 and #3 bounced back so I tied them down again. It's going pretty good. Day 35 some branches bounced back so pulled them down again. #4 was very bushy again so I removed some fanleaves for better light penetration.

Day 36: Not much going on. I did some lst and removed some fanleaves of #4. The rest is still going strong. Day 37: The mainlining is done. Waiting to switch to 12/12. Not exactly sure when. Day 38: Still pretty dark green leaves...The Biobizz All-mix is doing it. Just watering tapwater (about Ph7). I am using 3 litre pots and I'm wondering when I need to add some nutrients. Biobizz grow, bloom, top-mix? Day 39: I've noticed a little smell today #1. 13cm #2. 10cm #3. 12cm #4. 10cm #5. 10cm Day 40: Growing slowly. End of the week switching to 12/12. Day 41: This evening the lights go out early. Flipped to 12/12.🙏 Day 42: new leaves of #2 have a very light green color. Keep an eye on that.

When to switch to 12/12? The plants are about 10 to 15 cm (4-6inch) I know they gonna explode when going into flowering, but I have not a lot of space. The lights can go up for another 35 cm (14inch). Thinking about waiting when they are 20 cm (7.8inch). What do you think?

I would switch as soon as you see preflowers. Better be on the safe side. I do micro growing too and have experienced major stretching.

Day 43: 3th day in 12/12 modus. They stretched a little bit. #1 14cm #2 11cm #3 14cm #4 11cm #5 13cm Overall the colour of the leaves is still pretty dark green. The new growtips are a litte bit lighter green. This normal I guess. Correct me if I’m wrong. I think it's not necessary to add some nutrients yet. Also….Correct me if I’m wrong. Day 44: Nothing going on Day 45: stretched about 1 cm Day 46: removed some fanleaves of #2 and #4. They were bushy. #1 is not happy. What is going on? Day 47: Not much change sinds yesterday. It's Day6 in 12/12 modus. #1 still the same. Today I gave some nutrients. Biobizz Grow. Day 48: #1 Yellower by Day. Don't know what to do. I Just checked the pH of the soil. It's 6.4 so that's pretty good. Maybe i gave to much water and fucked up the roots. Day 49: I believe the green colour is comming back. ☺️

I hope to see flowering at the end of the week. Day 51: I did some new lst today. Day 52: bounced back from lst. I see flowering Day 53: Flowering in process. I expecting more growt this week. I hope they grow a little bit more. I've room for that 😀 Day 54: Not much going on. Day 55: #1 still a bit light green.

Indica #1 is still a bit lighter but I think she’s doing fine. Day 60: I removed the lower fanleaves and some other leaves in the shade. Day 62: Finally the Sensi Cal Mag Xtra was deliverd. I only gave #1 the recommended amount. 1ml on 1litre. Maybe next week another shot... I hope she will react on it possitively. I gave the others just bio grow and bloom.

Hello growers.. I've a question about the colour of the leaves ( last pic). What could it be? Looks like magnesium deficiency but not sure.

Hello ! Yes you are right, yellowing between veins and purple stems are the main signs of Magnesium def and they can be seen on your plant. Increase your cal mag amount and it will be ok ✌️🏼

Day 85 Week 6 flowering. 5 different strains, 5 different needs... Plant #5 has magnesium deficiency. plant #1 is pretty much recovered. I've to pay more attention to the pH values...(around pH6). I added a little less nutrients to keep the pH around 6. I made some pics of the trichomes. It's looking good.. The buds are not that big, but very hard and compact and the smell is amazing...

Day 92: week 7 flowering. This week I stop adding nutrients and flush the soil. Only #4 and #5 showing some deficiencies. The rest is pretty green. Its the first time i have to flush. I’m Not sure pH value of the flushwater. Some say just tapwater (pH7) some say to adjust the water to pH 6. After flushing i’m expecting a lot of yellowing leaves, but we are almost there. The smell is getting stronger. 👍🏽 Day 93 I flushed today.. Brown water came from underneath.. so that's a good thing. The rest of the week no watering, because the pots are pretty heavy now. I also checked the trichomes #1 some amber (smells very sweet) #2 very less amber (smells like rubber with a sweet touch) #3 some more amber (smells sweet sour) #4 some amber (smells like rubber) #5 some amber (smells sweet sour) Day 94 The girls took it well...the leaves are normal Day 96 I Made some shots of the trichomes again. #1 seems pretty ready. Day 98: I flushed again... The pots dried out. This was the last flush. Next week harvest.

Day 99: Week 8 flowering I think this week some will be harvested. I flushed yesterday for the last time. It surprised me how much water they can take without drowning. The All-mix has a pretty good drainage. A little recap: From the beginning I used 3ltr pots. (Next time I will start with 1ltr pots, after that I will repot them in 6ltr pots) When the plants made it to the 5 node I topped them down to node 3 to make a mainline. I did the nugbucket method to make 8 main Cola's. I'm happy about the result and it was fun to do and not that difficult. (Next time I do the nebula method or some other mainline method). I will also wait a little longer before flip to 12/12. I have made some mistakes in this diary: I was too late giving nutrients when some plants needed it. Had to buy it first.... I increased the amount of nutrients step by step, but I forgot to check the pH. It was too low (pH5) so decreased the nutrients. Anyway they survived and the smell is amazing...all have a different scent. #1 has pretty much amber coloured trichomes. (Looks ready) But if you look at the whole bud you see a lot of white hairs. (Not ready) so I'm not sure when to harvest this one... The rest of the girls need some more time. Day 100: New pic#1. I don't know how I've made the previous pic with lots of amber... Maybe an older sugar leaf? The new pic is more milky. I've decided to wait some days. More updates later this week.....

What a fantastic job you've done on this grow! Its like they are all models on a display! Everything looks so uniform and perfect! That amber trichome shot was great! I'd be harvesting that little girl. I wouldn't really worry about the pistils to determine harvest time. Use the trichomes as your guide. It is much more accurate. Next grow, measure your pH and PPM regularly when feeding and watering. That will give you an idea as to what the numbers. Adding a pH up might have been a better solution to your low pH. Also, try to do slurry tests as well so you know what the pH and PPM of your soil is during the grow. In all, this is a crazy good grow. I wish I was that neat!

IndeKastcommented6 years ago
@Quexos, I want the trichomes something in between. I’ve made a new pic of #1. As you can see there are no amber trichomes on that spot. I dont know how i did that. Maybe the first photo was an old sugar leaf...Anyway I wait a couple of days.
Quexos
Quexoscommented6 years ago
@IndeKast, Thanks. There are too many of them in a small space. I'm having trouble keeping them trained out. I'm running out of space and canopy. Harvesting is a personal preference. Some people really like their trichomes amber. They like the sedative high. Others like a more uplifting, energetic high, so they harvest when all the trichomes are milky. 15% amber trichomes is the average number thrown around. The real danger is harvesting too early before the plants are fully mature. That is not the case with your girls. #1 is up to you know. The rest can't be too far behind.
IndeKast
IndeKastcommented6 years ago
@Quexos, Thanks man!!! I've learned a lot of this growth. You're doing a great job too with your mainlines. I will wait one more day to make a decision about harvesting #1.

Quexoscommentedweek 146 years ago
What beautiful looking buds! Your mainlining technique was spot on! This has been an excellent grow! Nice trichome shots! I wish my camera could get that close. What are you using? Once they are all milky then its basically up to you. Milky trichs are more energetic, amber trichs are more sedative. Well, that's what they say... You are going to see fading of the leaves now that you are flushing with plain water. I've always used filtered tap water at pH 7. You are right about the yellowing of leaves as you flush. Its pretty normal. There are tons of grows on GD that show plants fading hard once flushing began. I've never had quite the fading on my grows. I'm not sure why. It didn't seem to matter though.
Quexos
Quexoscommented6 years ago
@IndeKast, I like that idea! You have a lot of cool little hacks to solve problems. I've been growing for a year now. I've learned that I have huge humidity problems in the early spring, and late fall. It's very, very dry then. This grow is due to be harvested in the early spring. The towel idea will keep my humidity high enough to slow down the drying process! Thanks!!!🙏
IndeKast
IndeKastcommented6 years ago
@Quexos, the right humidity is a challenge Indeed.. I hang a wet towel in the drybox to keep humidity high enough
Quexos
Quexoscommented6 years ago
@IndeKast, I didn't know that. My first grow was grassy at first, and when I look back at it, she only took 3 days max to dry out. It usually takes about a week now. I thought it might have to do with not flushing synthetic nutrients well enough, or that I harvested too soon. I haven't had that problem since my first grow. That's why I was looking at the nutrients as the culprit. I don't have a ton of control over drying. The desert is a very dry place. Keeping a drying box and any higher humidity is a challenge.

Those trichomes are looking get. Good job on the grow. Are you changing mainlining methods just to try something different or because you didn’t like something about the nugbucket method?

@IndeKast,Cool I like to experiment too. Last grow I did equal splits out to 16 nodes. My current grow I'm trying something different, split evenly to 4 nodes and then let 4 main nodes go from there. I was just curious because I'm still learning and experiment too.
IndeKast
IndeKastcommented6 years ago
@NomNom, thank you very much. I just want to try something else because there is room for more buds or save some veg time. I realize that the buds will not be equal size, but I like to experiment. Nugbucket is great if you want equal sized buds.

Okay that's it. You really only have 1 plant and you photo shopped the rest of them! They all look so identical!😂 There was a huge argument about dark periods and using ice in one of the grow groups I'm in. I don't think they came to a conclusion though. I do the 3 day dark period, but I haven't done ice or snow. I'd guess you could use dry ice as well, but I'm not sure. Have fun! Let us know if it has any effect.

@IndeKast, I know it can't really hurt. It might be an old grower's myth, or it might be something very beneficial. I use the dark period to help dry out the soil before cutting the plant down. You won't be able to do that because you covered the soil with ice/snow.

@Quexos, haha thank you... I will report the results although I don't have nothing to compare. They all get the same treatment.

@OutForReal, thank you, I'm very happy about it. The challenge is to dry it slow. It's a pretty low humidity these days around here.

Damn!
IndeKast
IndeKastcommented6 years ago

WoW! That above shot of all of your plants outside the tent really was great! What a nice job you did on your mainlining. Every single plant looks sturdy, with beautiful symmetrical buds. They are going to stack like crazy! BTW, nice light.

@Quexos, thanks again!! I can say this is my best grow ever. It's a long ride as i am used to grow autoflowers. Pretty happy about about the light. Added a new picture of it btw

This week looks great! Keep training them the way you are doing and keep the under canopy clear. That will encourage your bud sites to better develop. Otherwise you will have a bunch of little popcorn buds. Of course those popcorn buds fit perfectly in a pipe... Its up to you about nutrients. On my first grow I did not use any nutrients during veg. My thought was that the soil I was using had enough nutrients. The grow turned out great!! I pushed her really hard during flowering though. I gave her increasing doses every feeding until flush. Buds were the biggest I've grown in 4 plants.

IndeKastcommented6 years ago
@Quexos, thanks for checking...the leaves are dull indeed. I gave her some water today...so we'll see tomorrow... The only nutrients i'm using is allready available in the soil Biobizz All-mix.

@IndeKast, Picture #1 just looks a little wilted. It looks a bit droopy and slightly clawed. The color is dull too. The other photos of the same plant are vibrant and green. It probably just needed watering. If you are ever concerned about using too much nutrients, you can always flush with pH neutral water to rid the soil of excess nutrients. Then feed lighter than normal until you find the right balance. BTW, there is not mention of the line of nutrients you are using, or how much. That information would be really helpful. For example, I have been using Nectar for the Gods, and it is incredibly forgiving. I've also used Advanced Nutrients, and I loved the results, but felt I was one feeding away from disaster.

@Quexos, What do you think about #1? I did some research and looks like N deficiency. Or iron deficiency. Not sure. Check latest pics of #1

Nice little garden you are developing. I love this training technique. Its funny, you are worried about #4. It seems to be the bushiest of the group. Running a manifold/mainline for an asymmetric plant is a little different from what I've read. Usually the asymmetry comes from clones, but I see it later in the growth cycle on some of my plants. Check out the mainline arcticles in http://www.growweedeasy.com/home. They specifically discuss your issue. Its an easy fix. It looks like you've already figured out a solution. BTW check out TreeTent310's Green Crack Grow. He is doing the same method as you. His grow looks great! Good luck! I'll follow along if you don't mind. My next grow is going to be all mainlining, so your photos will really come in handy when I'm trying to figure out what to do.

@IndeKast, I have you on follow. I just harvested one of my two current plants. The other has a few weeks to go. Then I'm going to start this mainline project. You and TreeTent will be far into your grow by then so I can get a lot of pointers.😁

IndeKastcommented6 years ago
@Quexos, thanks man! I will check the link, but I let #4 grow her own way. She will have 6 mainbranches i guess. The other 4 plants wil have 8 mainbranches. That makes 38 cola's. (I hope). That Will be enough for my small closet. Mainlining is also a new technique for me, but it's pretty easy. Patience is the key. Also checking out mister treetent310's diaries. It helped me a lot. Following along....if you have questions of advice? Let me know. Happy growing!
