Day 43: 3th day in 12/12 modus. They stretched a little bit. #1 14cm #2 11cm #3 14cm #4 11cm #5 13cm Overall the colour of the leaves is still pretty dark green. The new growtips are a litte bit lighter green. This normal I guess. Correct me if Iโ€™m wrong. I think it's not necessary to add some nutrients yet. Alsoโ€ฆ.Correct me if Iโ€™m wrong. Day 44: Nothing going on Day 45: stretched about 1 cm Day 46: removed some fanleaves of #2 and #4. They were bushy. #1 is not happy. What is going on? Day 47: Not much change sinds yesterday. It's Day6 in 12/12 modus. #1 still the same. Today I gave some nutrients. Biobizz Grow. Day 48: #1 Yellower by Day. Don't know what to do. I Just checked the pH of the soil. It's 6.4 so that's pretty good. Maybe i gave to much water and fucked up the roots. Day 49: I believe the green colour is comming back. โ˜บ๏ธ

Hello fellow growers.. pretty happy so far, but I've a question about Indica #4. I'm topping my plants 3 times to create 8 main cola's. #4 grows not symmetrical so I'm not sure where to make the cut. It would be great if someone can tell me.

Hello ! After the 5th node is the average , after the 3rd one can be done too but prefer the 5th one.

When to switch to 12/12? The plants are about 10 to 15 cm (4-6inch) I know they gonna explode when going into flowering, but I have not a lot of space. The lights can go up for another 35 cm (14inch). Thinking about waiting when they are 20 cm (7.8inch). What do you think?

I would switch as soon as you see preflowers. Better be on the safe side. I do micro growing too and have experienced major stretching.

Hello growers.. I've a question about the colour of the leaves ( last pic). What could it be? Looks like magnesium deficiency but not sure.

Hello ! Yes you are right, yellowing between veins and purple stems are the main signs of Magnesium def and they can be seen on your plant. Increase your cal mag amount and it will be ok โœŒ๏ธ๐Ÿผ

What a fantastic job you've done on this grow! Its like they are all models on a display! Everything looks so uniform and perfect! That amber trichome shot was great! I'd be harvesting that little girl. I wouldn't really worry about the pistils to determine harvest time. Use the trichomes as your guide. It is much more accurate. Next grow, measure your pH and PPM regularly when feeding and watering. That will give you an idea as to what the numbers. Adding a pH up might have been a better solution to your low pH. Also, try to do slurry tests as well so you know what the pH and PPM of your soil is during the grow. In all, this is a crazy good grow. I wish I was that neat!

@Quexos, I want the trichomes something in between. Iโ€™ve made a new pic of #1. As you can see there are no amber trichomes on that spot. I dont know how i did that. Maybe the first photo was an old sugar leaf...Anyway I wait a couple of days.

Quexoscommented6 years ago
@IndeKast, Thanks. There are too many of them in a small space. I'm having trouble keeping them trained out. I'm running out of space and canopy. Harvesting is a personal preference. Some people really like their trichomes amber. They like the sedative high. Others like a more uplifting, energetic high, so they harvest when all the trichomes are milky. 15% amber trichomes is the average number thrown around. The real danger is harvesting too early before the plants are fully mature. That is not the case with your girls. #1 is up to you know. The rest can't be too far behind.

IndeKastcommented6 years ago
@Quexos, Thanks man!!! I've learned a lot of this growth. You're doing a great job too with your mainlines. I will wait one more day to make a decision about harvesting #1.

What beautiful looking buds! Your mainlining technique was spot on! This has been an excellent grow! Nice trichome shots! I wish my camera could get that close. What are you using? Once they are all milky then its basically up to you. Milky trichs are more energetic, amber trichs are more sedative. Well, that's what they say... You are going to see fading of the leaves now that you are flushing with plain water. I've always used filtered tap water at pH 7. You are right about the yellowing of leaves as you flush. Its pretty normal. There are tons of grows on GD that show plants fading hard once flushing began. I've never had quite the fading on my grows. I'm not sure why. It didn't seem to matter though.

@IndeKast, I like that idea! You have a lot of cool little hacks to solve problems. I've been growing for a year now. I've learned that I have huge humidity problems in the early spring, and late fall. It's very, very dry then. This grow is due to be harvested in the early spring. The towel idea will keep my humidity high enough to slow down the drying process! Thanks!!!๐Ÿ™
IndeKast
IndeKastcommented6 years ago
@Quexos, the right humidity is a challenge Indeed.. I hang a wet towel in the drybox to keep humidity high enough
Quexos
Quexoscommented6 years ago
@IndeKast, I didn't know that. My first grow was grassy at first, and when I look back at it, she only took 3 days max to dry out. It usually takes about a week now. I thought it might have to do with not flushing synthetic nutrients well enough, or that I harvested too soon. I haven't had that problem since my first grow. That's why I was looking at the nutrients as the culprit. I don't have a ton of control over drying. The desert is a very dry place. Keeping a drying box and any higher humidity is a challenge.

Those trichomes are looking get. Good job on the grow. Are you changing mainlining methods just to try something different or because you didnโ€™t like something about the nugbucket method?
IndeKast
IndeKastcommented6 years ago
@NomNom, I've checked them out and they're doing great. I like the blueberry.
NomNom
NomNomcommented6 years ago
@IndeKast,Cool I like to experiment too. Last grow I did equal splits out to 16 nodes. My current grow I'm trying something different, split evenly to 4 nodes and then let 4 main nodes go from there. I was just curious because I'm still learning and experiment too.
IndeKast
IndeKastcommented6 years ago
@NomNom, thank you very much. I just want to try something else because there is room for more buds or save some veg time. I realize that the buds will not be equal size, but I like to experiment. Nugbucket is great if you want equal sized buds.

Okay that's it. You really only have 1 plant and you photo shopped the rest of them! They all look so identical!๐Ÿ˜‚ There was a huge argument about dark periods and using ice in one of the grow groups I'm in. I don't think they came to a conclusion though. I do the 3 day dark period, but I haven't done ice or snow. I'd guess you could use dry ice as well, but I'm not sure. Have fun! Let us know if it has any effect.
Quexos
Quexoscommented6 years ago
@IndeKast, I know it can't really hurt. It might be an old grower's myth, or it might be something very beneficial. I use the dark period to help dry out the soil before cutting the plant down. You won't be able to do that because you covered the soil with ice/snow.

@Quexos, haha thank you... I will report the results although I don't have nothing to compare. They all get the same treatment.

Damn!
IndeKast
IndeKastcommented6 years ago

WoW! That above shot of all of your plants outside the tent really was great! What a nice job you did on your mainlining. Every single plant looks sturdy, with beautiful symmetrical buds. They are going to stack like crazy! BTW, nice light.

@Quexos, thanks again!! I can say this is my best grow ever. It's a long ride as i am used to grow autoflowers. Pretty happy about about the light. Added a new picture of it btw

This week looks great! Keep training them the way you are doing and keep the under canopy clear. That will encourage your bud sites to better develop. Otherwise you will have a bunch of little popcorn buds. Of course those popcorn buds fit perfectly in a pipe... Its up to you about nutrients. On my first grow I did not use any nutrients during veg. My thought was that the soil I was using had enough nutrients. The grow turned out great!! I pushed her really hard during flowering though. I gave her increasing doses every feeding until flush. Buds were the biggest I've grown in 4 plants.
IndeKast
IndeKastcommented6 years ago
@Quexos, thanks for checking...the leaves are dull indeed. I gave her some water today...so we'll see tomorrow... The only nutrients i'm using is allready available in the soil Biobizz All-mix.
Quexos
Quexoscommented6 years ago
@IndeKast, Picture #1 just looks a little wilted. It looks a bit droopy and slightly clawed. The color is dull too. The other photos of the same plant are vibrant and green. It probably just needed watering. If you are ever concerned about using too much nutrients, you can always flush with pH neutral water to rid the soil of excess nutrients. Then feed lighter than normal until you find the right balance. BTW, there is not mention of the line of nutrients you are using, or how much. That information would be really helpful. For example, I have been using Nectar for the Gods, and it is incredibly forgiving. I've also used Advanced Nutrients, and I loved the results, but felt I was one feeding away from disaster.

@Quexos, What do you think about #1? I did some research and looks like N deficiency. Or iron deficiency. Not sure. Check latest pics of #1

Nice little garden you are developing. I love this training technique. Its funny, you are worried about #4. It seems to be the bushiest of the group. Running a manifold/mainline for an asymmetric plant is a little different from what I've read. Usually the asymmetry comes from clones, but I see it later in the growth cycle on some of my plants. Check out the mainline arcticles in http://www.growweedeasy.com/home. They specifically discuss your issue. Its an easy fix. It looks like you've already figured out a solution. BTW check out TreeTent310's Green Crack Grow. He is doing the same method as you. His grow looks great! Good luck! I'll follow along if you don't mind. My next grow is going to be all mainlining, so your photos will really come in handy when I'm trying to figure out what to do.
Quexos
Quexoscommented6 years ago
@IndeKast, I have you on follow. I just harvested one of my two current plants. The other has a few weeks to go. Then I'm going to start this mainline project. You and TreeTent will be far into your grow by then so I can get a lot of pointers.๐Ÿ˜
IndeKast
IndeKastcommented6 years ago
@Quexos, thanks man! I will check the link, but I let #4 grow her own way. She will have 6 mainbranches i guess. The other 4 plants wil have 8 mainbranches. That makes 38 cola's. (I hope). That Will be enough for my small closet. Mainlining is also a new technique for me, but it's pretty easy. Patience is the key. Also checking out mister treetent310's diaries. It helped me a lot. Following along....if you have questions of advice? Let me know. Happy growing!
