Strain: Auto Afghan Kush [Afghan] - by Seeds Mafia
Number of seeds: 2
Location: Indoor
Time: 01 November 2023 -
Lamp: MIGRO Aray 4
Power (Watts): 240 W
Area: 100 x 200 cm
The seeds were sown directly into the substrate (coir rings) and moistened daily with a small amount of water (about 10ml each).
They both sprouted on day seven.
The next day they were planted into the target 20-liter breathable pots.
I reused the substrate from my previous grow (it was half & half mixture of two BioBizz products: Light-Mix & Coco-Mix) by adding a bit of BioBizz All-Mix.
As a fertilizer this season i decided to try the PLAGRON set.
I also have plenty of natural compost, nettle manure and reliable HESI soil kit on hand - in case something goes wrong.
The seedlings are lit 20/4 with MIGRO LED-lamps & set to 20% power for now.
NOTE:
There are six other plants also in the grow room (besides the Afghans)
· 2 x Purple Haze Automatic [Haze] - by Zamnesia
· 2 x Red Banana Pudding [Banana] - by Anesia Seeds
· 2 x Pink Matcha Slush [Pinky] - by Anesia Seeds
Eight plants in total - 4 autos and 4 photos. Their arrangement is shown in the picture.
~ 1st week ~
In that first week the plants were watered twice (0.25 l of water each) and they developed their first true leaves.
At present, the humidity in the room is about 70% and the temperature - around 22°C.
The large Blaupunkt fan oscillates a strong breeze and the lamps run 20/4 with a low power of 20%.
Plants are about 10 cm tall and doing fine.
~ 2nd week ~
This week (just like in the previous one) the plants were watered twice (0.25 l of water each).
They developed second deck of true leaves.
Currently Afghan-1 is 11 cm, and Afghan-2 is 12 cm tall.
At present, the humidity in the room is about 70% and the temperature - around 22°C.
At the end of the week i increased the power of lamps to 60 %.
Plants are doing fine.
~ 3rd week ~
The next (third) week passed without any interruptions.
The plants have developed a third layer of leaves and side shoots are emerging.
Halfway through the week the plants were measuring:
Afghan-1 - 17 cm tall,
Afghan-2 - 18 cm tall.
The humidity in the room is currently about 60% and the temperature - around 22°C.
The plants are fine.
~ 4th week ~
Another (fourth) week went smoothly.
The plants have already developed five levels of leaves, and the side branches are developing nicely too.
Halfway through the week both Afghans were measuring 30 cm tall.
I still water the plants twice a week, but i have increased the water amount to 0,5 liters per plant.
At the end of the week i also increased power of lamps to 80 %.
The humidity in the room is still about 60% and the temperature - around 22°C.
The plants are doing well.
~ 5th week ~
Both Afghans started to flower at the beginning of this week.
They are the tallest of all so far (about half meter).
I rearranged the plants a bit for better lighting and increased power of lamps to 100 %.
Also i changed nutrients for blooming phase.
The plants are fine.
~ 6th week ~
I had a lot of work this week renovating my house and little time and conditions for photography. I also had some business to do in the city, so i wasn't home for a few days (the plants were thirsty and yearning). So, not many photos this time - sorry.
Afghans bloom elegantly - distinct, densely spaced buds with long hairs are formed. Long side shoots with multiple buds.
The leaves are a healthy dark green with slightly purple veins and stems. They have drooped slightly, and the largest leaves in the lower parts have turned slightly yellow (due to water shortage - i will compensate them for it soon).
A delicate perfume scent appears in the air. Nice.
~ 7th week ~
Afghans dominate in growth over the rest of the crop.
They are 75 and 68 cm high, respectively.
Both have many side branches and bloom profusely.
They emit a perfume smell and look beautiful.
~ 8th week ~
Afghans bloom profusely - more and more long-haired flowers appear on long branches.
Drops of resin visible to the naked eye. Nice view :)
They have a lot of appetite now, so i water them every day, half a liter.
Look healthy.
~ 9th week ~
Afghans have stopped growing taller, but are developing wider and sideways.
They are 78 and 71 cm high.
The flower hairs are turning red, but new flowers keep coming.
The larger leaves began to turn yellow with the addition of purple - a sign of autumn.
I changed the lighting time to 12/12.
The plants are beautiful and healthy.
~ 10th week ~
Nothing special happened this week, actually.
Except that the buds drastically gained mass and with it more shiny resin drops appeared.
Plants look excellent.
~ 11th week ~
Afghans, like Hazes, ripen beautifully - the buds are large, abundant and full of resin.
There are also many colors - green, yellow, white, red, brown, purple and pink.
Rainbow garden :)
From what i see, the harvest will be coming soon (probably next week), so i stopped fertilizing and only give water (in small amounts).
The plants are doing great.
~ 12th week - HARVEST ~
Afghans (just like Hazes) seem to be very ripe - they have large, dense and hard buds covered with a thick layer of resin.
Most of the large leaves fell off on their own. The ones that remain are multi-colored, with purple predominating - they are also full of resin.
Plants emit an intense citrus-musky scent.
Cut close to the ground and hung whole on strings in a dark and well-ventilated drying room.
They will hang like this for 2-3 weeks, and then I will probably make hash out of them.
Growing was trouble-free, easy and very pleasant.
Seems that smoking will be similar :)
