Swapped out my medicgrow light for the MarsHydro TSW 2000 as I can burn fewer watts on a 25% power setting to give the sprouts less than 300ppfd.
Dialed in the humidifier, heater, and fan to sail within the VPD settings for optimal growth.
Got the appliances all hooked up to the Mars Hydro power strip and set all the parameters on the app for heat and humidity ranges.
Sounds all Hi-Tech ... and getting there, but still hand watering until I have mastered controlling VPD better. I need that focus, discipline and practice, before I introduce an automated water source. It's more about the number of controls on the variables, as I overreached, before.
The plant and this community teaches us!
Added some nutrients as the leaves were showing some needs: buildasoil top dressing and fishshit in with the calmag'd water.
Did some tucking on the big leaves to give the chutes more light.
Switched over to the medicgrow light at 40% for 16 hours (281watts + 793 PPFD).
Trying out a late bloom booster to fatten up the buds. First time using it, so we will see how it goes.
Pushing the ppfd to 1190.
Set up the dehumidifier to exit water outside of the tent to push the VPD up and for less work emptying the humidifier on the daily.
Another week or two
Nice glassy trichomes
Nice gassy terps
⛽
Bumped up the lighting to 60% to 1188 ppfd
Added Overdrive (Advanced Nutrients) for the last two weeks of late bloom.
Terps are floral and sweet like lavender
Keeping the temps higher and the humidity low to boost VPD late in bloom.
Reflecting on this grow: I over watered and did not keep the tent warm enough over the winter and overnight.
Reading up on crop steering and moving to smaller 3g pots for the next grow.
Great value for money and the 'lucky dip's approach set me some new challenges as a grower, for which I am grateful.
Got some nice auto strains all growing at different rates requiring different treatment which was one of the reasons I got these.
Challenge accepted and the cycle kept me on my toes and the tent colorful.
Not my best grow or results. Added too many nutes over it's life and over watered at times.
Overdrive additive caused foxtails on the plant but not the others, although it helped lengthen the time under the lights without the trichomes darkening.
Chop! Chop! It's on its way to become edibles, tinctures and infused chocolate. That's still a 'W.'
@gottagrowsometime, thanks for your feedback. Always appreciated! first time using Overdrive nutes and none of the trichomes darkened over the last two weeks surprising me. So, I let it run.
Even today, none of the trichomes ambered. I did get a bit of foxtailing, though the last two weeks.
I’m running 3 mix pack seeds and a Northern Lights seeds from Fast Buds right now. I’m three months in on the NL and it’s barely starting to bud now. I can’t really say that I like Fast Buds genetics. Plants are stunted so easily and they struggle with the same nutrient cycle I give ALL of my plants. Don’t think I’ll buy any more after I finish running the rest of these mix packs.
