While not a complete nutrient I can recommend it for being well accepted by the plant. Although using this in max recommended concentration 4ml/l I experienced some nutrient deficiency (likely Cal/mg P) which I have to admit may be caused by my lack of experiences :)

At the end of week 8 of flowering I had to harvest my beauty. Considering how terrible flowersitter I was, she provided quite a reasonable harvest. That said, I kept the buds on stems for drying so not sure about the exact weight but: - I expect ~30g of dry flower and when counting the ~6g I had to harvest earlier from the broken branch I'm happy with that. - it was a very nice smoke with rather clear high and a little time warp effect (left me a few frames behind) 😃 - there is about 9g of wet sugar leafs so I have something for a few brownies as well! I'll update you with final numbers once I have them. EDIT 1 - after drying the weight is 24.7g so a bit less than what I hoped for but still fair enough. Next one will be Kush N Cookies from Garden of Green seed bank. I have also made some upgrades on grow room equipment with new ventilation with resolved reverse airflow issues and of course, yes, lighting. I'm going up to single 100W full spec LED instead of multiple low-watt bulbs which will now take place during germination and early growth stage. Thanks everyone for comments, likes and advice! Cheers!

Grow Questions

I noticed some leaves and stems getting red/purple (see latest photo Week #10) so I'm a bit afraid of Phosphorous deficiency but otherwise the plant look healthy so not sure. Don't want to use redundant fertilizers as I would expect her to finish soon - ideas would be welcomed!

I wont be afraid of phosphorus def.You give her 4 ml of Alga-bloom. Youve had standing her on the balcomy and she changes colours because of the colder nights ( autumn_colours) and maybe its strain related too ( Bluecheese). for me she looks nice and Healthy. Enjoy your Girl

Weather is stable for the time being so I'm trying to utilize as much outdoor light on balcony as possible but decided to go for it and provide some additional LED lightning indoors during the evening to give a total of 18/6. Received today - (raw INput 60W - proclaimed output altogether about 140W but that doesn't mean much) so fingers crossed it will help and I hope to keep it this in/outdoor way till harvest...wow, and I thought weather is a boring topic! Will post some picts during weekend but the setup is really amateur-ish so not sure if I even should :)

@Mrs_Larimar, I discovered the Kush N Cookies strain pretty much by accident but the declared properties were too good to not to give it a try - ~20% both THC and CBD 😲 Also as the Dance World is known for being low on odor, it will be probably more suitable for outdoor/balcony, so thinking this way, I'll most likely start with the Kush N Cookies now and leave Dance World for spring season. Happy growing!

@Butrus,Kushn cookies sounds promising but i dont know that strain. Dance world i a very nice and easy to grow strain Love the RQS genetics. And yes we all learn from grow to grow. and thats good that way. Otherwise i wuld be boring. The plant teaches us new lessons in every grow. And 30 gramms are a good amount for a first try

Thank you very much @Mrs_Larimar! I've already received some seeds of "Kush 'N' Cookies CBD" and "Dance World" so will yet have to decide which to start now and which one leave for spring but in any case I'll start germination in a few days and hope to get much better results with all the experiences gained during this first grow :)

@Mrs_Larimar, sure thing, I’ll start a new diary for the strain and mention you in a comment there so you can follow up and together we’ll see how it g(r)oes :) BTW I’m not buying directly from Garden of green but from Seedsman.com - I can only recommend this shop and their services. Definitely the best eshop I found so far. Cheers!

Hey Butrus, i was looking at your diary and thinking about the P deficiency, and im sure the experts constantly say to have a soil test done, but sometimes thats not very practical or do-able for everyone. But i did listen to a good episode of the Kis organics cannabis cultivation and science podcast that was all about soil, how to tell if somethings wrong, and how to best aid certain nutrient uptake or what might lock others out. If you're interested and had 30 minutes of free time check it out. ✌️

@The_Projexx, she is actually more on the berries side - not that cheesy and I have to say that I'm quite happy about it. She smells really fruity, fresh and somewhat positive and energetic :)

The red and purple stems are from Cal Mg deficiency man nothing more to it then that , Just add some next couple feedings and you will see it go away :)
Butrus
Butruscommented6 years ago
@The_Projexx, thanks again, I'll give it a try with dose of CalMag!
The_Projexx
The_Projexxcommented6 years ago
@Butrus, The purple and red stems are always always CalMg def It affects the plant in various ways , right now the most obvious sign on your plant is the red and purple stems , if it was to far gone your leafs would start to yellow then brown up in the the middle then fall off lol . There's also 2 different kinds of deficiency's there's immobile and mobile . There are various ways to fix each one , but so far so good man keep up the good work ! :)

Butruscommented6 years ago
@The_Projexx, Thanks for the advice! I can definitely try to get some CalMag for her and see how she reacts but from what I was able to find it will either be some multi-factor deficiency or a natural result of ageing. I was looking on all the basic deficiencies but didn't find any exact match so to say...also I would not expect Cal/Mg deficiency while growing in soil but there is still a LOT I have to learn :) e.g. here, as I'm growing RQS strain (I hope it is not against the rules to post links here) https://www.royalqueenseeds.com/blog-calcium-deficiency-in-cannabis-plants-n602

Keep on growing and learning, there are so many things to learn. I'm on just finishing my second Grow and starting my third and for a newbie it's all about just taking a simply approach at first. As far as light goes for and auto plant they really can't get enough light as they don't run on a 12/12 photo period for flowering. Auto do great keeping them up in the 18-24 light /day range. A couple house hold led lights ona few clips would help out Happy growing

Butruscommented6 years ago
@OLDSKIN, thank you for the tips fellow grower! I can definitely try to give it a 18h+/day as you mentioned, you're right, it shouldn't do any harm to auto flower... As to the lights, it's actually exactly what I was thinking about - a couple of full spectrum LED bulbs. Unfortunately all these little lights seem to be designed and made in China so not sure about quality, but one has to have a little faith, right? :) Wish you all the best with your growing!

Well, in the end there is no way I could keep the plant on balcony any longer without risking freeze damage as temperatures are rapidly decreasing and during night will stay barely above zero C. My indoor setup changed to pantry instead of the shelf. Still amateurish but better than nothing :)
