Germination
The seeds went into paper and plastic bag method on 23rd, just before Christmas. I may have planned germination to coincide with the in-laws leaving after Christmas… I love them really. Anywho, I dibbed one maybe a little deep, but they both forced their way up, one is ahead of the other. Put some powdered biosys in the soil to hopefully make a nice habitat for rooting.

Just 4 days on from previous week photo, and finally a little action! The leaves although healthy looking at first seem to be looking a little to crispy and signs of cupping, so forced to reduce the light. I guess you could argue these girls are still seedlings learning to veg. Either way, knocked the 300W LED down to beneath 20% and added a bowl of water to bring some humidity in the tent.

So crispy leaf has continued to be a problem without much consequence yet I’m fighting to get conditions right to make sure it irons out. I’ve raised the lights by about 3 inches, and not turned them up at all. Noticing the new leaves aren’t perfect and start to cup a little within a day or two, but overall the plant is starting grow with a little pace, so I’m happy. Will continue to nurture the tent conditions and try tune them in. Have turned my inline fan to only activate at 70% humidity (which equates to about 1 minute for every 10), this has helped raise humidity levels to a constant 69/70%, have added more bowls of water to the tent and made sure oscillating fans are not pointed at the leaves. Topped, and a little 1/4 dose of notes, (just Ecothrive bloom, calmag, & a little biosys tea).

The tent is proving a success. Starting to see heavily improved growth compared to what would be a window sill grow. Tuning in humidity, temps, lights and watering schedule seems to be encouraging much faster growth. The traditional wet/dry i was planning in running seems to stunt growth a little, so not waiting to see any leaf dip before watering, just trying to judge the soil correctly. Excited to see the babies growing in young ladies. Growth has been pretty explosive after about 2 day of complaining after being topped. There are a couple of brown spots on a few leaves on just 1 plant (the more developed one). Leaves also continue to look too crispy to me, but I’m not used to intense artificial light grow so maybe its normal, plant seems to be growing rapidly now, so not complaining. Have turned lights up progressively over the week, now at 30%, will continue to rise until i hit 50%. Have read that Barneys PC can take hella longer to flower than advertise, so a little paranoid that I haven’t time to compete these plants the way i planned before my next trip in MID JUNE!!!!!!! Apparently i should be trying to identify if more Indica/Sativa to give me a steer on the flowering time, some advise 7 weeks, others 15 weeks!!!!!!!!!! - So really hoping I have the indicia, I want to push these ladies to close to potential at least. Initial leaves seems stubby/fat and indica, but it might be starting to change.

Almost time to flip these guys, might do it tomorrow. One plant has grown a lot better than the other, trying to wait for the other to catch up, but its not happening, so I’m going to focus on the most successful brother and the other can follow behind as a runt. Lots of light greens and yellows on new leaves, starting to think I’ve given these guys too many nutrients with feed despite the fact I’ve used hardly anything, must be the ecolife soil was already well charged. The Scrooge net was useful for training, but almost tempted to take it away for flower, as not sure it’s going to provide that much support and it really gets in the way. What do people think? Ready for flower?

After asking the question here about the greening of the leaves and brown tips I decided to go down the route of flushing the plants over 10 days or so, normal colours are now returning and growth starting again. I’ve read that PC doesn’t need so much nutes, and i really didn’t push it far, but using the charge soil probably meant i was already okay to begin with. Flipped to flour 1 light cycle ago. Getting excited now. Am a little dismayed to see that the plant we’ll call lefty is not growing as fast. Looks healthy but it lower, and less advanced then her sister. Not going to wait any longer. 2 months VEG is plenty of time, lets see if she catches up in flower… Doubt it. Thanks for all that helped with advice about the leaf greening, really appreciate it.

7 days into flower and the ladies are shooting up, have increased water to 1.5Ltrs a day, watered every 2 days. Was quick to take to flower, only took 3 days or so. Will start to add very mild nutrition. Not sure if i should defoliate more, bit of me likes leaving the leaves to soak up the expensive light! She’s indica but looking crowded.

Good growth, going to charge the soil a little. Just weakly though. Light is now at 100%, 22 inches or so, so encouraging a little stretch still. Just a game of patience now, fingers crossed for good bud development. I remain unsure how heavily to deleaf when the time comes..

21 Days since the start of flower, and just gave the girls a desolation. Probably the last. Growth has been fine, and smell is lovely and abnormal, might be said to be pineapple, it’s starting to smell a little more, now flowers are forming. Starting to see quite allot happening on some of the main stems. Good growth and bushing up. Gave the girls Bat guano diluted as a tea, also a little more bloom.

Things have taken a bit of a turn for the worse this week, the dominant plant has developed some sort of problem. Leaves are turning yellow, and mottling. I’ve looked through grow questions and came up with a magnesium deficiency, but wasn’t sure. So i flushed both the plants, and then today added calmag, biopsys and flourish back in. Really hoping to see an improvement in her, the plant on the left has now almost caught up and the buds are flattering up, the plant on the right has barely moved this week, just looking less healthy. It’s weird as both plants have always been treated the same, I can only hope the dominant plant just used up all the resources in the soil and is begging for a feed. Any advice is appreciated. On a happier note, the plant on the left is really fattening up nicely.

So after the plant got sick last week I eventually worked out the problem, and surprise surprise it was me!! 😕 I’d bought another dehumidifier (small one) and put it in the crampt tent, I hadn’t realised it had been blowing directly on the larger of the two plants. I reckon i almost dried that poor plant to a crisp (hence the yellowing, browning and mottling leaves). So after removing the dehumidifier the plant stopped.. dying. The bad thing is, I defo stunted the plant badly. She was growing so much faster than her sister, so much bigger, and then she just stopped and almost died, anyway, since correcting my problem she’s showing signs if improvement, with a few new white pistols, so all is not lost, just lost probably 10 days of crucial flower time. You live and you learn. I think in my panic to find the solution i probably gave both plants a bumper feed, edging on too much, but I panicked. Anyway, i can report now with hindsight (I’m writing the post a week late - new week post to follow in a few hours) - that both plants are doing fine, and have survived my week of panic and confusion and growth is continuing! Yay!😇

Howdy again. This week things seem to be back on course, the buds are starting to swell, especially at lower levels of the plant. Righty continues to recover, with some leaves regaining some green, although the damage and difference between the two plants is obvious. That said, she’s growing thick under the canopy. Might drop the light a few inches, its been at 22” for a long while at 100%, as we reach the end of flowering, a few more PPFDs? Happy to keep these girls, at least another 3 weeks, it’s hard to tell with PC. But will investigate with the microscope again soon. Let’s fatten these girls up :D

This weeks update finds the girls starting to put on a little weight! Good to see.. I dropped the light about 4”, don’t think they liked it so bought it back up 2” to 20” from bulk of plant. The whole plant had orange pistols for a day at start of week, then lots of new growth again. Microscope reports still some time to go. Can the right plant hold on!! She’s growing steadily in the bud department but leaves are tatters. Stay tuned to find out!

Well ladies and gents, the plants were now meant to be ready a week ago, but still not ready, haven’t seen many signs of Amber under the microscope. I did read this strain from Barney’s can go on for longer. The buds continue to swell, maybe some foxtailing. I think I’m gonna drop the light level a little, give it a few days to mature then chop. Gonna start the flush tomorrow. Few days in the dark after that, and hang em. One bud looks like the top had died, on the plant that nearly died. So that’s a bit of a concern, but at this point I think a few more days then chop. Exciting to get to the end. Maybe I’ll wait on an extra few days, depends what the microscope says

Hi guys & gals, first tent grow here. Ran a few outsidies in the past, and flawed window sill attempts. Love house plants, and originally grew inside amongst them just for the Architecture/structure & beauty. Then slowly thought well if i just add a little light.. now maybe a little humidity, airflow… now here we are. Wish me luck! Please feel free to hang out, chip in, advise or just mong out in the corner. All are welcome

what's the humidity ? its a little bit too covered, don't you think? try a little defoliation, start from damaged leaves, they have left no job, brown dots means there will not be a recovery so first make sure to find the issue, then start removing some leaves from damaged leaves, of course if you see the need Good Luck friend 😻😻😻

@Fasty, dehumidifier is really good thing, I'm using it by my self, and it lets me hold more leaves as I'm not lover of removing anything lol number from sensor is number what shows how much water that section can hold, for example at temp of 15 C it may show you 60% and at same amount of water molecule but for example temp of 25 C it may gonna show you 40% , because atmosphere can hold more, so if the sensor is near the light it shows lower number and not because of lower amount of water molecules.

@GrowthConsultant, Humidity I’m finding hard to measure. Different reads from different dehumidifiers/sensors, The lung room is at 50% and recently put a small dehumidifier in the tent as well, as Mary’s Hydro sensor reads 65%, personally I think the sensor is out. Humidity is crazy where i live right now, so 24 hour dehums… Thanks for the luck :)
