Tropicanna Poison F1 Fast (SS) - Spring Feast 2024

TommyBVRSA75 Let's see and without telling it, start the "miss" 3 from the closet and as it is and why like the children that come when the parents no longer expect them and there are people who at 25 years old, have siblings born... here it is and to top it off, the most well-known "red" in the world... the Tropicanna Poison F1 from Sweet Seeds and now some concerns that I will share with the grower brothers who follow me and I will make it as clear as possible. Summer 2023 and if you go back a bit in my diaries, I started making a couple of F1s from Sweet, in this case the S.A.D. (the Sweet Afghan) which I had tremendous faith in and in the end, it was perhaps one of the biggest disappointments I had with any strain that I can remember. I hadn't even released fast versions by that time and I was so excited that Sweet had been working on stabilizing "fasts" for years and let's see, stabilizing backcrosses and crosses of photoperiod strains with autos... let's see a bit, the curiosity of knowing how these strains were going to be made and I swear, that without understanding it yet, something went massively wrong with those first F1s. Let's see... something happened outside of my control... nutrients that I thought were quality, working with good coco substrate, with "smart mat" hydroponics, meaning the system integrating just the necessary water and the final result was a disappointment to say the least. Terrible quality buds, very little dense and heavily loaded with pistils but without calyx leaves and a weed with a monotonous hashish aroma and an acrid, earthy taste that I didn't like at all. Production was far from what I expected and I could start saying that the x factor or the y factor or the z factor failed... but no, and from all I've seen in the diaries on GD, the result for the friends who developed that S.A.D. F1 have not been very convinced with what came out. It is simply not even close to the best strain from Sweet Seeds and has been one of the very few strains that I can tell my friends to plant as something "special." So I define it as monotonous and dull and surely it will be one of those strains that maybe the Ganesha bank keeps for strategy or for resources spent, but it is not a strain that has fulfilled me as a grower for a long time and I must confess that I became very reluctant to plant F1s since that unfortunate grow... so I got to work and asked some friends, which F1 strain I could do to "clean myself" from such a shabby start in the "fasts" and basically everyone I trust for their experience has pointed me to the "red" Tropicanna. The parents are excellent and as a backcross, it is very interesting and let's see how it turns out in the end... As I had already started the photoperiod strains almost twelve days ago, my most practical thought was to think... let's see, how can I "hang" a strain, so that if it turns out as I expect, I can switch the light cycle to 12/12 around the 25th and push the flowering of what is in the closet and so that in the end, there is synchronization to harvest them simultaneously, despite the F1 just starting now (with a ten-day delay)... so certain counts, the F1 for its faster flowering would fit perfectly in time, to the ten/twelve days it has at most. For that, it will be necessary for it to gain strength in its vegetative stage and so far, it is not disappointing but more push and vitality are needed and it won't confuse me that in flowering it could also gain strength... but at the present moment we already have something discrepant and that is that the photoperiod strains from Anaconda Seeds are vibrant and overwhelming in their vegetative stage (what happens with the Anaconda strain is out of the ordinary), since a grow with 17 days counting from germination is a super champion and as I tell you, it is of mortal necessity that the Tropicanna Poison F1 also comes out with a very special attitude and we are in trouble because I see it timid in its beginnings and that is what it needs the least. The temperatures in the coming days are forecasted to be low and humidity at its peak due to the rain sweeping across the Iberian Peninsula and at least, those conditions are what Sweet defines as correct for a grow of these characteristics... but I need and very soon for the Tropicanna to start pushing with all the power it can muster in vegetative. My intention is not even "jokingly" to have a grow with a meter and a half, but it is requested and as soon as possible for it to gain vitality and that is what we need at this very moment for the season to be a success for all the "misses" in the photoperiod/F1 closet. Let's see if God Jah hears us and makes our F1 shine at its best level... if possible, because everything knows and there will be good ways for everything to turn out well... because in the end, everything is fine when it ends well. 420 for everyone and a huge greeting to all!

TommyBVRSA75 The "miss" Fast and the strategy for her growth. If we've explained the photoperiod-dependent "normal" ones up to almost 50 cm in height and a super dense bud - both in the Anaconda and in the White Widow. Outstanding is the vegetative push of the strains from Anaconda Seeds and Sweet Seeds, and knowing the characteristics well, we will have branching with ample internodal space and very remarkable growth in flowering. It has been very clear to me that, for example, regarding the grows of Anaconda Seeds, it’s their dense foliage, and if in White Widow I've already started to limit lower primary leaves and some points of "vampire" branches, in the case of our Fasts, knowing parents like Tangie or Girl Scout Cookies, to fit the usual XXL buds of this strain, generally the internodal spaces are very spaced out, and when the pink-red "calyxes" start to form over time, this strain is something very distinct, whether for its "look" but above all, that smell of fruits and skunk takes the cake, and as an F1, it is one of the most solid strains not only in terms of quantity produced, but for its organoleptic traits that are different from almost everything that has existed in F1 so far, and that’s because I had already told you that I’ve had not very pleasant experiences with F1, and for example, another of Sweet’s F1 that was supposed to be wonderful, the S.A.D F1 Fasts (the Afghan Fast). Not that it wasn’t a smokeable material with some interesting characteristics, but it tasted a lot like hashish and had a spicy note at the end of the hit, ...so as weed, it’s very uninteresting and heavily loaded with Afghan aroma with a taste of earth, and the buds were not dense and had good textures, so, while not bad, it’s not distinctive. To finish the impressions of this week, two pulls of Green Explosion and Top Veg, and the grow has given a very interesting push in just 5 days and has already started to show a very balanced indica structure. God Jah always sheltering our grows, protecting us from the more sensitive eyes and noses of neighbors and of course, keeping our grows safe from pests. For now, on wheels and surely, nature is already starting to sculpt a beautiful cannabis, which will give us quality and surely something amazing. 420 always and Green Greets to the GD brothers.

TommyBVRSA75 And it becomes very clear that the changes in the light cycle when switching from 18/6 to 12/12 and with the flowering conditions, the F1s from Sweet Seeds gain an incredible boost. In just 9 days we've gone from something like less than 15 cm to almost double, and that's very noteworthy regarding what the genetic work in the F1s translates to when we induce flowering. As you can see, the enormous health and genetic stability that these fast strains present is very clear, and it has been crucial for even starting with almost ten days of delay compared to the photoperiod-dependent ones from Anaconda Seeds to be able to come together. The ladies from the photoperiod-dependent and fast categories are earning a superior quality with their primary leaf structure, but the way the secondary branch structure is being created will give us space and internodes for incredible buds. TommyBVRSA75 Well, the third of the photoperiods and on this one, a much simpler approach. The Tropicanna Poison Red F1 from Sweet Seeds and there are many differences here. Shorter, impressively huge fan leaves, and since it started ten days later, it's just beginning to flower. You can clearly see some very clear points where the buds will come out, and because of the mix of a photoperiod and an autoflowering, the genetics of these F1s are confusing, explosive, and inexplicable. The giant leaf size is sativa, but then it ends up closing like an indica. As I already told you, I've done a grow of a fast from Sweet Seeds, and it surely wasn't the best... neither a photoperiod of a lifetime nor an exceptional autoflower. Very well how it will turn into something "red" in its buds (very possibly), and since it comes from the parental Cookies, in the end, I hope it has been worth it entirely, but for now, I'm impressed by what its vegetative stage has left, and it surely left the biggest fan leaves I've had on a plant, and you have to pay attention almost daily to the LST work and defoliation at your discretion. Anyway, I'll show you the F1, and let's see how it can evolve very soon... by the total 12 weeks, I hope it will be ready, and whatever Sweet Seeds can "give" me to grow will surely be under scrutiny... 420 Always...

TommyBVRSA75 Well, I'm finishing the entries for the five diaries of the season, and I've saved the Tropicanna Poison Fast from Sweet Seeds for last... and as you can see, something here is very different from both photoperiod and autoflowering. In my opinion, the fast ones are a "no man's land," and there’s still room for evolution in what the genetics of these F1s end up expressing in their grows. First of the evidence. They are rare in their vegetative expression, and let me explain, only the Fast ones indoors can gift you fan leaves that are almost 20 centimeters each, but pay attention, not just one of these leaves but a bunch of them. So, the genetic design of this F1 strain throws out giant primary leaves as if they were light panels, almost as if they wanted to soak up all the light areas that could be in a grow cabinet. Another characteristic that has me baffled is simply the thickness of the stems; the central one is like a tree, and the insertions of primary leaves are tremendous in size. This F1 has a characteristic that I have been able to register, which is the lack of a clear definition of a main cola... they are branches that, at intervals, were competing for the particular advantage of the light panel positions, and what has happened is that I haven’t put a SCROG net, but the grow, by its own "will," generated a leveling of its branches, and it’s almost like seeing that this grow has about half a dozen colas. The first signs of flowering are very specific, with the grow producing tremendously large pistils, which will ultimately represent buds that will be at least gigantic at the top, and everything in this Fast grow is oversized... it’s like a giant plant, and it’s already very clear that due to its size, there will be very spaced internodes, but due to the structure, at every point where there’s flowering, there will be a bud of very large dimensions, and the million-dollar question is "what to expect from something like this?"... will we always have red buds with a lot of psychoactive potency, or will this Tropicanna Poison F1 be like another one from Sweet Seeds, also F1, which was the S.A.D. (the delicious Afghan) and one of the smokes I liked the least (I already mentioned that it was a smoke without much imagination, very much like the aromas and flavors of hashish from the old days; and with buds not very good in density, despite their size). And that’s my final reflection of the week; will the F1s be plants whose genetics are stable enough to produce something special? For me, that an F1 can reach maturity two weeks before a photoperiod plant has never been the main idea in developing them, and I still need to understand if what happens with the Fast ones is something like that joke about two friends who each had a donkey and decided to breed them, one had a very large male donkey but was not very keen on working, and the other had a small but very willing female donkey, and when they bred, the donkey they expected to be big and strong for work turned out to be almost a "dog," meaning a dwarf donkey that didn’t like work at all... so my question about the F1s is a bit, what "donkey" do we get in these grows??? What characteristics do F1s generally inherit?!? I have doubts, and they are not few, and as I had already mentioned, for the Fast ones, perhaps this is the golden opportunity for me to decide whether I continue to bet on them or let them go once and for all, and at this moment, only time will tell. 420 always, and God Jah always with all the grower brothers!

TommyBVRSA75 Some basic differences compared to the grow companions come from the structure of this F1 strain, which I have mentioned to you before. It's noticeable that the structure has very long and wide leaves, and those XXL leaves have the drawback of limiting the necessary light reception, and with that, there's a price for the growth to happen in the best way. It has almost always been necessary throughout the grow to defoliate, regardless of whether this is done in the upper areas of the grow and at the base as well. The grow has a good number of flowering points, and the flowering is already underway and developing very solidly. The F1s, due to their parental characteristic of being obtained by crossing photoperiods with autos, will always have genetic traits that express themselves more or less evidently, and if, for example, in pure photoperiods, it's common to have a high proportion of elements in the grow. In this "fast," it's very clear that there is, first, a central stem that is literally a trunk; then with lollipopping, the upper area has overdeveloped with huge leaves and a very strong structure, and surely the evolution of the buds will present flowers of enormous size, because if the stems have the dimension to support such a huge weight of leaves, the grow will also have the capacity to support large flowers. The most important thing is that there is a flowering that is in full swing and will have impressive results... let's see later how quickly the cycle will progress, and in the third full week of flowering, the cycle could take about a month and something, and if the F1s are faster than a normal photoperiod, there will be a plant with a very generous and high-quality harvest. Let's see if in a few weeks, the explosion of reds that are so characteristic of the Tropicanna Poison strain will be visible. 420 Always and a hug to the grower brothers. TommyBVRSA75 Let's see, the same old story about the F1s and specifically about this F1 of Tropicanna Poison. 1- Leaf abundance and especially the impressive size of the fan leaves, which has made it almost a daily practice to remove real "sheets" that covered the normal light entry to the flowering points. 2- The explosive way flowering occurs in the fast strains... it's almost as if at some point the vegetative stage had "frozen" and then in no more than six days, the buds explode at the many points the grow has. 3- As you can see, the very classic "Christmas tree" structure that usually exists, even when they are bushy, in this grow, that characteristic has not existed... it's almost as if I had implemented apical cuts and there were a large number of flowering points at the same height in the grow. 4- Many of the things that this strain presents oversized, besides the leaves, is for example, the size of the leaf insertion stems; the central stem, which is a massive trunk, and the whole set of points where the buds are developing. So it's incredible the genetics of this F1 strain and if it leans towards photoperiod characteristics - even if it's the light cycle change, there's something very present from its auto parent, and to be clear, in the case of this grow, after the light cycle change that had already occurred a month ago, just about nine days ago, flowering started ipso facto... what this can mean in practice is that here more than the pull of a phase and the light cycle being what would start flowering... the flowering of the grow took the time it needed and now also on its own and at its own pace, has decided to explode into flowering. 4 - It is already visible that the pistils are not whitish but pinkish and that at the beginning is already a preview of the wonderful red flowers that the strain ultimately "gifts" us. And how beautiful nature is in this strain... and if we've talked here about everything that has come out oversized in this grow, another oversized thing that will be incredibly useful goes through the internodes and the size of the stems; there will surely be some incredibly fat buds and that's not speculation, and I'm not going off as an oracle when I say it,... the dimensions that these beauties' buds will have are crystal clear. In short... 420 always and may God Jah continue to protect all our grows both in what the grow says regarding, as well as in relation to external threats, and you already know those.

TommyBVRSA75 Finally... the explosion of the buds in the last week is quite remarkable. It's as if our Fast has been holding back, after the explosive way it revealed itself during the vegetative stage, and we often talk about such particular things as I am now sharing with you. 1- The impressive vegetative expression of this grow, with enormous primary (fan) leaves. In my time as a grower, I have never had such an incredible dimension of leaves, even outdoors. There's no way to analyze these dimensions without considering almost the entire vegetative expression of this grow. There was no inclusion of inputs with a large amount of nitrogen, and in all the grows I did this season, all were reinforced with the bacterial input TNC - BactorS13, which already serves to include atmospheric nitrogen, converting it into ammonium that serves as a basic food for vegetative growth. With all the other strains - photoperiod and autoflowering - the vegetative stage was short but very acceptable, and there was nowhere near the growth of leaves, stems, and other structures like in this F1. I would love to discuss with the people at Sweet Seeds what conditions could lead to such a particular expression of oversized vegetative growth. The light cycles of 18/6 to 12/12 forced the flowering even with this Fast about ten days earlier than the photoperiod strains sharing the grow space, and the photoperiod strains resulted in normal dimensions, but the Tropicanna developed a trunk like a tree, elongated branches despite having very good internodal spacing, and giant leaves. 2- The size of these leaves has determined that with the ongoing vegetative stage, it was immediately necessary to start defoliating from early dates. There was a recurring need to cut giant leaves so that light penetration could occur in the best way, and thus, the defoliation process even in upper areas was essential. 3- The flowering seemed to be in a state of dormancy, but it has been very noticeable that twelve days ago, the flowering exploded, starting to form flowers that will be beautiful as they will have calyx structures, and in the internodal space, the filling of pistils is happening very quickly, and the flowers are already gaining structure to the naked eye. 3 - The sadness of sadnesses is that, phenotypically, 80% are pinks and reds, and what I see at the moment, I hope the continuation of the flowering brings those desired colors, but for now, they are whitish, and something that impresses is the enormous amount of sugar leaves on the flower corollas. And so it has been the week, and let's see what the next one will bring us, but for sure this is the grow that is the most delayed in its completion, and with that factor, we will adjust the nutritional inputs. 420 always, and may God Jah protect us from all visible or invisible dangers - internal and external, if you understand me. We only have the Tropicanna Poison F1 Fast left for the spring season, and with its "ultrasonic" flowering, we'll be no more than fifteen to eighteen days away from completing the cycle. As you can see week by week, the grow is progressing with a flowering that becomes more remarkable day by day in terms of trichome coverage, and you can really see it in the huge amount of sugar leaves, as well as its tremendous resin load in the buds. Since it's the only one left in the grow tent, it will now have plenty of light and space in the coming weeks to finish the flowering in the best way possible, and we'll have high-quality buds from our Fast. TommyBVRSA75 Well, brothers, coming to the end and just at 420, wrapping up a completely successful season - starting with the magnificent photoperiod strains from Anaconda Seeds - the Anaconda and the White Widow that are already breaking "hearts and heads"; the autoflowers that have also been wonderful and the final proof that you can do SoG with different seeds in a very short space, as long as we know how the developments are happening without one canceling out the other. So with autoflowers, it has been possible to combine the Sheer Purple Auto from Sheer Seeds; the Sour Ripper Auto from Ripper Seeds; the Blue Kush OG Auto bulk, the LSD 25 Auto from 42 Fast Bud's, and as it ended beautifully, the fast from the "company" with the Tropicanna Poison F1 Fast. (the only disappointment, and not one of the biggest, with a green/white phenotype... meaning that in terms of recessive genetics and with 80% dominance towards red or pink and only 20% of recessive green, the little Tropicanna seed that should come out red in four-fifths ends up coming out green/white... always with its cookie character, with very strong skunk terpenes, and thankfully the last one has come out in harvest, as there are smells around the house that are already very evident, and thank goodness it has finished because I couldn't go another two weeks in maturation without some nose in the neighbors noticing that the neighbor is growing some "magical" plants, and that brings dangers. I leave you the last ones before the cut, which will happen on Tuesday, and that's because I'm waiting for a vacuum container to store the Tropicanna harvest.
