Transplanted to 7 gal smart pots on day 13.
Amnesia are the ones with a white thing in the pot handle.
At day 15 two of the Moby Dicks got some yellowish parts.
Still no nutrients added (the substrate has loads of it).
Will wait until day 19 (6 days after transplantation) to start the nutrient scheme.
DAY 18:
Today I started the nutrient plan and not tomorrow as planned because I noticed them a bit yellow. . Used B-52 and Voodoo juice from advanced nutrients.
Made the solution the half of the concentration labeled because they’re autoflowering. So 1 ml per L. And fed with 500mL per plant with a pH of 6.5 and around 120 ppm.
DAY 20:
They're growing at a steady pace. New leaves are looking strong and healthy.
DAY 23
Plants are growing fast, their main stalk is thick and solid now.
Plants are getting bushier and bushier, that means many branches = many colas 🙌
I've been feeding them every other day but today I noticed some leaf tips are slightly turning white (probably I'm overfeeding them).
I will try to dilute a little bit more the nutrients and see what happens. (if that doesnt works I will have to decrease the feeding frequency)
DAY 27
Plants are growing and getting taller, especially both of the Amnesia XXL, they look much taller and developed than the Moby Dick ones. It's my second time growing Amnesia XXL and gotta say that they have a really solid genetic.
These weeks are really important because are the last 2.5-3 weeks they will grow until they start flowering. They will need to be well fed and receiving as much direct light as possible. That's why I will make some changes in the room in a couple of days, so I can put them in a way where they have enough space to grow and enough h direct light.
I'm also considering adding an extra 1500w or 2000w light for the rest of the grow cycle. (They say: more light = bigger and better yields 😛) Let's see how they respond to the room set up.
DAY 30
Today I made some changes in the room looking to distribute better the lights and the plants. Now they're receiving equal amount of light and much better quality/concentrated light. Plus they have more space to grow without shading each other.
Also started feeding them with 2L instead of 1L (I felt they're too big and have a big root for just 1L).
ATM they're with the same growing feeing scheme, they dont look like they're about to flower. I plan on keep feeding them with the grow scheme for about 5 days and then start with the bloom nutrients phase.
Only bad thing is that 2 plants are getting their leaves wrinkled and like duller than the rest. Also it looks to me that their leaf colour is a bit darker than the rest of them.
Any ideas or suggestions??
DAY 35
Today I started giving bloom nutrients to 4 more plants (6 in bloom and 4 in the last days of grow). They look good but both amnesia are huge, so they're almost hitting the lights, and they will grow a bit more, so I gotta do something about that 🤦♂️🏽. But they're growing nice and the small ones look much better now that I added a some "worm juice" a local agronomer gave me.
DAY 39
They're looking good, but the amnesia ones are abit too tall. Gotta have to put the lights higher.
Also considering adding an extra 1500W LED light.
Day 46
Some updates:
Added an extra 1500W LED light. That will sum up to 5500W.
Majority had claw leaves so I decided to make a root wash. Most of them looked better after 4 days.
One Amnesia turned into hermaphrodite 🤦♂️🏽
There's one Moby Dick with persistent claw leaves....
DAY 53
Had to take out of the room the Amnesia XXL hermaphrodite; cant take the risk of turning the rest into males too.
DAY 54
FUUUCKKK!! The wind dropped a piece of heavy wood onto the plants!!!
1 of the Moby Dick was totally broken. Some branches of the neighbour plants were affected too.
So that's 2 plants lost at the moment (the hermaphrodite and the broken one).
Day 56
Two days after the tragedy. Had to reorganize the room to prevent similar accidents in the future 🖤😢 Saved the most I could but definately this stressing event will influence the plant’s development.
Also, considering taking out the claw leaved plant, which has signs of hermaphroditism (FML again 😫).
Hope these 7 make it till the end.
PS: Also, there’s 1 Moby Dick which has no signs of flowering at day 56, cant figure out what’s happening with it. I’m starting to think that it’s an Regular Feminized seed instead of an autoflowering.
@OkieJim, thank you bro! Yeah shit happens, but well now I cleared up the room 👍🏼. I got only 1 Amnesia left, it's really much taller than the rest of moby dicks, and they're the same age from seed. Next time I will try some LST on the Moby Dick, I've seen some people applying it to MD and the results are amazing!
Good luck bro! Your babies look healthy and ready to give you big fat buds 😜👊🏽
@bono420,they look great! That amnesia is CRAZY. Are they all the same age from seed? Wow. So sorry you lost one of them to Hermie. Did you loose all the Amsesia?
I have seen other growers elevate the smaller plants and raise the height of the light to distribute light evenly. From my understanding when moby stretches, you will have to lower and adjust accordingly as the two strains grow at different rates. Awesome job man. Looks like a crazy Jungle....
I plan on switching to flower tomorrow. Keep in mind that this is my first grow also and all the wisdom I have gathered is from reading. ALOT. lol. Good luck. I will definately keep following...
you actually have a combination of things, slight over watering, nitrogen toxicity, and either the begining or root problems or light burn from the set up, what kind of reflective material is that? some materials are actually not adapted and leads to issues like this.
@bono420, specialised mylar canvass should be fine, some materials are "too reflective" for plants if that makes sense, but yeah a closed space without enough exhaust will raise the humidity, what you're going for is actually VPD that's optimal for veg so something like 0.8 and over if I remember correctly. Look up VPD, see for yourself. 🚀
@CRiSPrGrow, thank you for your help Bulbi! The reflective material is mylar. Do you think humidity has something to do with this? Because the room gets a bit humid sometimes...
Wow. I am also growi g Moby Dick but mine are not autos first, second I am in Dwc hydro, 3rd tours are twice as BiG... I'm doing autos next time. Gonna grow a blue or purple.... I am on week 6 and your plants dwarf mine. I did the manifold bit still twice the size. Wow. I'll follow. Great looking babies, imo
yeah man really interested in the new XXL strains. great harvest, usually really strong high... gonna follow... what i learned so far 10 gal pot size really improves yield.... next time i might run em in 20 gals get em proper beasten.
@CRiSPrGrow,Hi Bulbi! Yeah, I've learnt from previous experiences that pot size matters a lot. That's why I chose these 7 gal smart pots instead of the 3-4 gal pots most people think are enough for autos. And obviously filled them to the top 😜. Thanks for following the process 👊
5 weeks in and displaying some explosive growth.
Both strains Moby Dick XXL and Amnesia xxl auto should now be slowing down on the vegative growth and the transition to flower is near 👊
Looking in great shape and set up to perform very well in bloom.
This looks like it will be one amazing flower show and I'll be along for the ride and watching with interest 👊
Good luck mate. I'll drop back in on the next update 👍
All the best 🙏
Mark..
That's very unusual for our Amnesia auto to hermaphrodite and for our Moby dick xxl to not flower is also super strange!
Look out for a PM my friend then we can chat more. Something is not right and I want to try to help 👍
All the best ✌️
