Hello, This is my first grow, currently starting with 4 white widow clones. Waiting for my tent to arrive. Thankfully a buddy is getting me going. I’ll update once I get them in the tent and take over the process. Wish me luck. Any and all comments welcome.

Week 4 now, been in the new room for 6 days. I transferred to bigger pots from the beer cup. Using Promix Premium Potting soil and added worm castings to it. Didn't realize how dry they were, felt damp on the surface, but dry just below. Gave them a good watering, will have to monitor more closely. This is all new to me being my first grow. The one pic has yellow leaves on the one plant, Received it that way, but appears to be getting better. Should I take it off or leave it a bit longer ? One plant 1.5" tall hasn't grown at all. I couldn't see any roots when transplanting. The other plants had the outer layer of soil covered with roots. The LED manufacturer suggests 24-30" distance to plants, I am at 12". Is the little one going to make it ? Any suggestions or advice is welcome. Well it’s Sunday night, been doing a lot of reading on tipping and fiming, my 3 good plants are tall enough and have at least 5 nodes so I decided to top the three plants. I Want short bushy plants with lots of colas, next step is fiming, in a couple of weeks. MY tent is only 60” tall and less with the light hanging at its highest level is 54”. NO Choice but to make short bushy plants. I was very nervous topping them with this being my first grow, but what the heck all-in, being reading a lot of diaries and can’t wait to start fiming. Hopefully it works out for me. Looking for a decent harvest. ANY suggestions ?

Well it’s week 5 now and they have grown 2.5” this week, as you can see I’ve installed a scrog net which is adjustable in height. I also did some LST and increased the nutrients along with a (DIY CO2 which should last 2-3 weeks). CO2 should help with growth. The one plant hasn’t grown at all, I had to check for root growth and I did see about a 1/4” root protruding from the bottom of the grodan. MAybe It will start to grow now. As you can see my 2x4 tent might only be good enough for the 3 healthy plants. Any concerns, suggestions or comments?

Well it’s week 6 and things didn’t go well since I increased the nutes. I ended up with burnt tips and stunted growth plus I guess the fimming at the same time was too much for them. They are doing much better after 2 feedings of just Ph adjusted water. I will do the same this week to see how they do. It will be a few more weeks before I put them to flower. The new clone needs more time. I also added a small space heater to maintain a 70 - 78 temp and The humidity is between 40 — 60. The CO 2 is still bubbling away, not sure what the readings are though. Any suggestions or comments ?

Well it’s week 7 and the plants have recovered nicely after 2 feedings of just pH adjusted water. I decided to introduce a little nutrients again and so far so good. I also did some defoliation to open them up due to the LST and Fimming. Please add your comments if any. All advise is welcome and appreciated.

Well week 8 is done and I decided to remove the LST tie downs. I didn’t realize that I should have had my lights in veg and bloom, I only had veg ON for 7 weeks. They responded very nicely, nice and bushy with both veg and bloom lights ON. Wish I had done this sooner. Gave them a good feeding this morning, they sucked up a gallon each after 5 days.

First week of flower, day 63. Defoliated at switch to 12-12 . Started stretching and filling in again. Been pushing them down and will start adding Sensi calmagic on next feeding and increase the flowering nutes. I will also lower the scrog net now. I was waiting for the right height before lowering scrog net so I could still have room to water them. Any suggestions to the deficiencies on the one plant ? Cal mag, root rot ? Or something else. Please any advice ? Getting worried with that one plant !

End of week 2 Flower, had what looked like a magnesium deficiency on plant #3, performed a magnesium Foliar Spray 3 times and seems to be doing the trick. Also did a light defoliation. They are filling out nicely again and the stretch is on. Finally some nice buds showing. Going to start increasing flowering nutes also on next feeding. They are only drinking every 6-7 days. Is this normal ? DIY Co2 is lasting about 2 weeks, on my third bottle now. I hope it’s helping, not sure. Any suggestions or comments?

End of Week 3 of Flower, lots of buds showing, trichomes developing, stretching for the light. Layed of the Flora Gro and micro this watering. Added a drop per gallon of Superthrive. Light defoliation as well to open up inner bud sights.

Grow Questions

Hello, There are copper coloured spots on many leaves on one plant. I have tried Foliar spraying with magnesium. But it doesn’t seem to help. There is a bit of purple in the stems as well. I gave them some cal-mag, but still there. A few fungus nats. Gave nematodes 2 days ago.

Hey there steelhead, i see your spots you mention as well as the slightly red stem, however you're feeding the plants a nice lineup...so sometimes i wonder either its a too low does, or somethings not being absorbed. With all the nutrients they have an ideal range where they're absorbed, such as calcium can be taken in from a ph of 6.5-9.5, but others may be absorbed better at 6-6.8. I thinj this is why they suggest we all aim at having the ph between 6.3 and 6.8 so that way were happily meeting them all in the middle. I see your ph at 6 and probably thats not so far off to cause catastrophe but may perform better a touch higher. There's also the problem of nutrients cancelling out others if 1 is too high, like magnesium will cancel out calcium if their ratio is off. So I'd say either try increasing your dose because maybe the plants are eating a lot, or try to adjust that ph slightly. Ive heard several places mentions to be careful about using several different bottled companys, that sticking with just the flora line would help reduce the risk of staking and bad interactions because they've designed most of the products to be used together. I found this out slightly last summer when i used fox farm and remo together, it just didn't seem to be as compatible as sticking with 1 or the other. Happy growing and good luck tackling the various challenges that we all seem to face. ✌️

End of week 4 of flower and plants are looking good except for the one plant #2 which still has the copper coloured spots on quite a few leaves and purple stems as well, going to bump up the cal mag on next watering, was worried about fungus nats, only seeing a few now on yellow stickies, but thought maybe the larvae got to plant 2 so I added nematodes to all plants 2 days ago, can’t hurt right ? I WOuld really like to hear your thoughts and recommendations.

No Smell
Well it’s a very sad time for me, I made a very bad mistake that cost me my grow. I installed a ozone generator to help reduce the smell but I didn’t realize it should be vented. I ran it for just a minute with tent doors closed and the exhaust on. Checked the plants and they looked fine. The tent had that rain fresh smell inside. I programmed the timer to come on for 1 minute every 3 hours. It ran for a minute 6 times that night while I slept. When I checked in the morning I almost had a heart attack. I was devastated to see what had happened. I check on them for the next 3 days and they were only getting worse. Last night I chopped them down with tears in my eyes, dead brown leaves and tanned brown buds 😩. This is one costly lesson I’ll never forget. 8 weeks of veg with LST, Topping and fimming and 4 weeks of flower, so much care and love was put into this grow. Thankfully I had one White Widow in a small 1 gallon pot waiting to get out of that pot and has now been transferred into a 3.75 gallon pot and with CoCo not promix, It will be a new lesson starting with CoCo. On to my 2nd grow with only one plant. I would like to thank everyone who helped me along the way with the issues I had with this grow. This site is a great community with very talented and careing growers. Much love to all ❤️🙏😎

I gained a lot of experience with this being my first grow and I had a few challenges. Hopefully better luck with my next grow. Unfortunately this grow was destroyed due to my error with ozone. I rated this based on a friends sample of the same plants which I had clones from.
