It started out with the usual feed and defoliation and training. With my upcoming vacation, I am going to be hardening off these ladies to relocate to their outside location. I checked the expected weather forecast for the week. Looks good to start hardening off. Partly cloudy with temps in the low to mid 80s just like in their tent. So that’s good. Night temperatures were in the 50-60s. This is much cooler than what they are used to as our house is at 73. They need to get used to what mother nature will provide. Our summers are hot and humid. I had planned to bring the plants back in the sunroom but since conditions were similar, I let them stay outside every night. And every night but 2 it rained. I did not water or feed nutrients this week. I am attempting the scrog technique on all plants. I am using a peony cage as the support structure. The cages are about 2 feet high. This may not be enough side or top support as she grows and may have to resort to tomato cages. Took pics May 6,9, & 11 Opium is a vigorous lady. She will be my glamor girl. She is taller and has the typical sativa structure and has space between the nodes. There is not much leaf growth, so I don’t defoliation much. Her nodes are close but starting to spread out a bit. Before leaving for Colorado,, I removed the scrog because Opium has a very sativa-like structure tall and lanky with large spacing between the nodes. I was on vacation this week and left my gals in the care of my friend. She watered using our well water on Thursday. After that it rained every day, so no further watering was necessary. Week 9 6/2-6/8 Now at the start of week 9, my outside gals, except L. Cake are now in flower. One of the last top view photos 6/2 of Opium shows flowers forming. She is over 6 feet tall. From the side view photo of Opium last week to the photos take 6/3 show a growth spurt compared to the zinnia in the flower stand behind Opium. This is the first week I’ve had to add nutrients to her feeding. Some lower leaves were yellow. Since I’ve been using amended soil, this indicates Opium is a heavy feeder. Nutrients in soils are used up and she is starting to use her own food sources. Our temperatures are nearing mid 80's with high humidity. The plants are requiring at least a gallon of water a day. 5 gallons well water TPS1 60ml used 1 gallon per plant =12ml Cal-Mag 25ml used 1 gallon per plant =5ml Recharge 5ml used 1 gallon per plant =1ml Signal 1.25ml PPM 1414, PH 6.93, Temp 82.5 Note I do not have to PH adjust my well water. Actual temperatures in the upper 90’s with humidity pushing the heat index to 105 and up. I water daily and these ladies demand it. Monday we had a thunderstorm, rained heavily all day. One would think that would hold them for a few days, but no. Tuesday morning, I had an appointment and didn’t get home until after lunch. I took pics of the girls at 1:30 in the afternoon before watering. They were so droopy. Watered all of them with a gallon each and took more pics 3 hours later. They perked up nicely. Opium has had a stretch. 2 weeks ago, I placed the support pole and Opium was an inch shorter than the pole. She is 3inches above the support. Opium week 15 Week 15 We have had so much rain this week, I haven’t feed the outside ladies. She continues to fatten up those buds. Just loving the summer heat. I’m so glad I put a 6ft support pole next to her spire. The heavy rains and winds pummeled her and knocked her on her side, leaning against the plant tower. Thank goodness nothing broke off. You will also see Auto Opium joined her big sister Photo Opium. Little miss got too big for the tent so 7/19 now at 46 inches she went outside. Opium week 16 7/22-28 This week has been rainy so the outside girls only got watered and fed once. with all the rain we've had, all the girls grew a bit. I top dressed all girls with Bloomin Soil from Elm Dirt. Photo Opium is now 75 inches and stacking nicely. Happy girl means happy mom.

I’ve been packing my daughter’s room and moving her things to her new home. For those that have followed my since my beginning here, Cancer left me with neuropathy and arthritis in my hands. I can no longer do my glass fusing or flame work. To close this chapter of my life, I’ve been inventorying glass, tools, equipment, molds and supplies to sell. The most stressful has been appealing Medicare claims and receiving the second denials on the same claims. They are the last payer of record so good luck getting any reimbursement you are entitled to. My apologies to all of you for being so brief on your diaries and not providing many comments. Photos are from 7/28- 8/9 for both weeks. For my outside ladies, Opium, Auto Opium, Fractal, and Lemon Cake not much changed. They continue to live in sweltering conditions. Temps are in the upper 80-90s with humidity over 105. In addition to the heat, Hurricane Debby started up the coast but was downgraded to a tropical storm by the time it got to us. Expecting our normal thunderstorms, I waited til morning to bring yhe ladies inside. Overnight, we had wind gusts of 25mph. Yeah, then I brought all gals into the house. The photo gals are strong and with thick stalks were able to withstand the winds. Both Opium’s got blown over Auto Opium is thin and spindly and before I could save her from the winds and rain, she got whipped side to side. The top 2 feet bent hard one way and the top 6 inches bent the other direction. The pics show my attempt to bandage the damage 😟 to her top cola with chopsticks and electrical tape. I top dressed all ladies with Bloom Soil for organic fertilizer. Buds are fattening up, trichomes are minimal at this time but some fragrance is starting to be noticed. Week 20 8/11-17 For my outside ladies, Opium, Auto Opium, Fractal, and Lemon Cake not much changed. They and with the trichomes just starting to form and 2 more moths to go. They continue lovin life outside. These ladies are maturing as many fans are yellowing and falling off. Temps are comfortable following Storm Debby, in the 80s with low humidity. Buds are fattening up, trichomes are minimal at this time but some fragrance is starting to be noticed. These ladies had a long vegetation phase. They germinated April 1 so I could get them hardened off before I went on vacay. The colas are large, trichomes forming and with 2 more months to go, my expectations for these are heavy yields and sticky dense buds. Opium is maturing faster than the other 2 outside photo periods Fractal & Lemon Cake. Many of the feeder leaves are yellow and fall off at the slightest touch. The buds are dense and starting to be sticky. She is strong and resistant to our heat & humidity, and pests. Her tall lanky structure is true to a sativa. She had huge fan leaves and long internodal stretch. This strain would definately need topping or other high stress training to keep her short for a tent grow. Not much to say this week. We had Several rain storms so I only watered once. I topdressed more bloom soil. Opium is maturing faster than the other photo gals outside. Opium has many brown leaves throughout all her colas which would indicate near ready. However, the trichomes show only a few amber tops which means more time.. The top bud looks dead I had yo tilt her over to be able to see it. I did a lot of clean up on those dead leaves. I was pulling individual leaves off for over 30mins. Well that got tedious so I quickly rubbed my hands over each cola like you would run you hand over military flat top hair cut. 🤣 at this stage of the game, Don't do that. My hands were black and sticky when I finished and neither Dawn dish soap nor ISO got it off. I had stained fingernails for 2 days. The other word of advice is to tie up your hair before working with plants because by the time you are hot you can't touch your hair without getting stuck in it. The trichome pics are from the bud I broke off. Imma dry that and give it a taste test.

***DIVINE SEEDS ***** *****OPIUM***** Week 22 For my outside ladies, Opium, Fractal, and Lemon Cake These gals are weathered. Opium is taller than I can see (over 6.5 feet) but from my dining room window, I see the top 3 inches of her main cola is dead. Many dead leaves packed in the buds. Her colas on all stems are massive, sticky and resinous. My plan was to wash and make bubble hash from her. Temperatures should be dropping into the 70 with nights in the 60’s but have returned to the upper 80-90 with high humidity. This week rain is expected every day following another hurricane. That was the determining factor to chop all outside girls down. All the plants were chopped on Sept 12. Opium hung in the dark for 2 days and when Hubby started trimming up Opium he found dark areas deep in the buds and much of the bud mass just fell off. So both Lemon Cake and Opium have been tossed into the trash. I don’t even want to compost the plants in the event spores over winter. I hate losing any plant after I spent so much time growing them out but I won’t risk health over questionable harvests. I did an initial spot check on Fractal and she looked clean, but is being trimmed for a thorough inspection for any disease. These ladies had a long vegetative phase. Probably too long since I started them in April so they would be hardened off before I went on vacay in May. Three months of veg caused massive vegetative growth, especially on Opium deep in the buds.. The various breeder notes on photos indicate late September or October harvest. So that was in the back of my mind during this grow. All of them were in flower by early July. Light hours were over 14.5 and won’t be at 12/12 until September 26 (2 more weeks). I’m sure the plants were confused by the long veg and just said "Hell, I'm going for it" and started early flowering. I grew them too long waiting for the trichomes to develop. 👉Note for next year start seeds later in spring. 👉Plan start date based on counting back from the vernal equinox. 👉Based on such a long growing season, Autos may be preferable to finish quickly and not have extended vegetation phase before flower. I was looking forward to being daydreamy psychedelically stoned, not to mention killing my chronic pain and insomnia.
