Wk 1: Put SN in (RO) water, put a germination mat underneath and covered the seed for darkness. 24 hours later a little tap root, 2 days later a little bit more of the tap root so she went into a seed pod and covered with plastic for humidity. Fastest germination thus far.
-Used Voodoo juice, and Wow roots are already coming out of the pod 4 days later. On Day 5 - Replanted into a 5 gal fabric pot.
Week2: Strawberry was slowly growing; I think the humidity is a little low 25-30 RH so I put a bigger plastic dome on her and she seemed to like it.
Feeding - Trying to feed a little bit, so far so good, everything looks healthy enough. Leaves look like I'm growing strawberries.
Week3: Shortcake was doing well, and now looks like she wants to be fed more, so I'll start the Sensi Bloom Part A in addition to the Cal-Mag and will stop the Voodoo Juice. She's growing in short and bushy.
Week 4: This girl's nodes are quite close together. I can barely see anything going on in there and it's difficult to see the main stalk. I hope she stretches a bit more before hitting the flower cycle.
So she's growing but she's still so dense, I try to spread/tuck some leaves but she's just too compact. I'm afraid to cut anything because everything is soooo close. Started bloom nutes.
Also she throwing out some pistils. I hope she stretches a lot. I think I'm doing something wrong also, I feel like all my plants are stunted. It's probably my ph or something I'm doing wrong. I guess I'll figure it eventually.
Week 5: And she's definitely in Flower! She's tiny but I think she will stretch a little more. She's more the green pheno, short, stout, and very bushy.
Day 35: Defoliated, LST, and took some tiny popcorn kernel sized flowers lower on the branches to get more light penetration, hehe.
Week6: Shortcake has stretched a lot during the first 2 weeks of Flower, but her nodes are still really close together. I started defoliating more and she seems to like it.
She's still stretching and growing.
Week 7: Here leaves are thick, her branches are short and think so it's difficult to LST; Her branches don't bend at all! I'm afraid to push it too much because I'm afraid she'll break beyond repair. So I try to defoliate a little here and there and try to spread her out as gently as possible.
Day 46 - her leaves on one of the main colas is turning purple, and some sugar plum fairies have been dusting her a little.
Week 8: Shortcake so far has been an interesting grow. Her Colas are inflexible, it was really difficult to train her. Right now I'm just trying to take some leaves off here and there so air will circulate but trying to LST her has been difficult and well almost impossible with this girl. Some buds are turning dark purple and some are a very light purple. She's pretty frosty and looking dank. Can't wait to jar her up and cure her!
I think she's going to be finished by week 10. Much of her pistils are already brown on the main cola. I'm hoping her buds will now really fatten up! Happy Growing!
Week 9: She's getting pretty dank looking. I don't think her buds will get any fatter at this point but she's not done quite yet.
If I had to guess, 2 more weeks, lol. Happy Growing!
Week 10: Woohoo, week 10.
Shout out to this grow community - I must say that by having these journals and being able to see others' grow journals has helped me learn so much quicker than if I was doing this on my own. The experience and non-judgmental community has been wonderful! I've also learned what the whole "2 more weeks" saying I've read so many times on reddit forums, truly means. I don't think you can understand until you have a couple of grows under your belt. I mean I've read a lot, watched a lot of videos on grows and when to chop. There is nothing like experiencing the differences for your self. Looking back now, I feel like my first grow could have gone... yup, 2 more weeks, lol. Now I have a journal to be able to look back on and reference for myself and others (if they ask - also if I can figure out how to see other new grower's questions).
I'm really excited because the end of the 10th week is approaching and honestly, I think she can go at least another week. Mephisto says between 65-75 days so I think it's pretty accurate for my grow. I can definitely see the bud structure and size differences in the last few weeks. The bulking and ripening is real, especially for the lower smaller buds.
Happy Growing friends!
Week 11: This is Strawberry's final week before chop. She's pretty dank and her buds are rock hard. I've been checking trichomes and most seem cloudy, but I see some clear still on the lower sections, and some amber. She smells like over ripened grapes (if that makes any sense). At the end of this week she'll be chopped at about 11.5 weeks. Thanks for stopping by. Happy Growing!
Will report back on the strain. She smelled like grapefruit, and over ripe grapes. Her nuggs become rock hard when they dry.
Edit: Apologies, I had to edit the pictures. I duplicated Forum Stomper.
This strain was a bit difficult for me because she was so so so small. It was a bonsai of a plant. Not genetics, more me. I think I had my light too close during the Veg time period and didn't allow her to stretch properly - my bad. Training her was like training rocks. Her limbs were thick and dense and would hardly budge.
The flowering nodes on your plants look to be absolutely amazing. You've done such an amazing job with this grow so far and I'm so excited to see how these plants finish up as well as to hear how they smoke. Best wishes my friend :D
@SensiSmellYahLater,
Thanks for the complements my fellow grower! I don't know about an amazing job, as I'm still trying to dial in these automatics to get bigger during their veg state, hehe, but after the cure these girls are top notch for sure! Happy growing!
