Plants look happy after starting Nutrients, I’ll start earlier next time. Haven’t watered to run off yet, will try to next time to make sure that salt builds up in the soil. Measured out 3 litres of water to degas chlorine and warm to room temp, will give them a litre each with 1.5ml of nutes and calmag and a dash of peroxide

Things really starting to take off in the last 48 hours, I believe the roots to be established now and the plants in Veg. Did slightly overwater this day in order to get my first round of runoff (was worried that there would be too much salt build up in the bases of the fabric pots) This made the girls get a little droopy, but I propped them and quickly they sprung back.

Plants still moving along happily, no complaints at the hardy seeds and running 24/0 is making my first grow a little more simple to handle.

Some unbelievable growth through week 5 from all 3 plants. The photos attached are all 1 day apart from eachother from April 3rd to April 11th. I had some issues week 4 where I caused some root and nutrient issues by overwatering through my own fear of not being able to water to run off yet due to my using very large pots. Fortunately these lovely plants were hardy enough to bounce back and are flourishing now.

More days of bumper growth this week 😋 Flowering is here! A beautiful sweet citrus scent fills the tent. Things are getting very congested inside the tent now. As the plants enter flower and start to stretch I’m having to apply some very light defoliation to keep flowering shoots from getting drowned of light. I am considering doing more, but I’m not getting wet build up on the leaves so I think things are good (for now). There’s only 4 days between these photos and the final image for the previous week to keep close to the schedule and still get this posted on Sunday evening.

A huge amount of stretch this week, especially from the plant on the left who grew a full 40cm! And the others are close behind her. I’m running out of vertical space quite fast but I thing it should just about fit inside. I’m now pulling handfuls of leaves off each plant each day or 2 to combat the explosive growth in an attempt to keep things opened up to the air and light to the budsites. You would hardly tell from looking at them, it’s still an absolute jungle in the tent. The smell is still weak enough to be caught by the filter but there’s a lovely dank smell building up inside the tent. Hopefully less than a month to go on the 2 fastest plants here, keeping my fingers crossed

Another week and even more stretch from the plants, there’s pretty much no headroom left now so I hope it’s the end of it! I’ve had to affix the light to the tent-pole itself. I can probably move it once more to give another inch or 2 again if needed. Some of the tips below the light are sunbleached after getting within an inch or 2 of the light before I could get the time to try take it off the ratchet clips with just 2 hands to work with. Let’s see if they bounce back well before harvest! The plants smell amazing now, their true mimosa scent is coming through with a lovely fruity dank smell in the room even with the carbon filter, but that is covering the most of it. I can’t wait to taste these girls, really happy with how the first time grow is going :) I see budsites all over.

Another week down, more monster growth from the plants. The back plant has only gone through its flowering stretch this last week (I assumed it already had), and quickly has dwarfed the more mature 2 plants in height - as well as the light! Speaking of the light, it’s had to be moved again, now to the absolute maximum I can move it except maybe with some zip ties which I’ve put on order. The fan and filter had to get moved outside the tent, which was not an easy job with the size of the plants. I’m battling some incredibly high humidity outside the building (90% average today!) and have only been able to keep the tent as low as 65% even with a mini dehumidifier inside and a larger unit in the room where the tent sits. These are some seriously tall girls! With the box below the tent they’re considerably taller than me. The from left plant has much hairier spiky looking buds forming, while the front right plant has more chunky fluffy nugs forming. I love the genetic variety between them. When rubbing or breaking any trichomes with the fingers they release a strong citrusy passionfruit smell that is delicious! I think I need to order a separate small tent for drying due to the minimum 2 weeks difference in maturing between the plants…

Another week down. The buds directly under the light are really putting on some mass now. The flavour profile is definitely developing more, with a lovely citrusy pineapple scent coating the fingers when I’ve been taking out leaves. Speaking of taking out leaves, despite pulling out one or 2 handfuls every day there’s still an absolute jungle inside the tent. I’m focussing on opening up channels for air to move through, without taking too many leaves as to shock the plant. I know that my yields will be lowered with the amount of leaves I’ve had to take off, but 3 XL plants in 2.3x2.3 requires the more severe trimming. Bottom thirds are completely cleared from the plants, with the amount of growth tapering up from there. I haven’t mentioned yet that around week 4 of veg I lifted the tent onto a couple of boxes and taped some catheters to the bases of the collection trays to allow me to siphon off the run-off, which I’m very thankful for doing as I simply wouldn’t be able to remove the plants at this stage to try to drain things every day. Can’t wait to smoke some of this!

Bulking season is here! The colas are packing on some weight, and the lower budsites are following a bit slower behind, probably as much because of all the lower defoliation that’s been necessary for airflow as much as the extra distance from the light. The scent is really building up now, I’d finally say that the room that the tent sits in has a weed-like smell to it despite filtering, but I do pop the tent open a lot when humidity is low. The back plant has a really sweet banana-like citrus smell when pruning it, I think it’s going to taste the best of the bunch. The left hand plant has a more traditional mimosa citrus smell on its leaves, while the front right has a more standard dank-weed smell with the citrus there in the background.

We’re into the final stretch now. Checking the trichomes on the ripest plant (front left) daily, with about 80% Milky, 15% clear, and 5% amber. Going to give that one a few more days just to finish up and will chop it as soon as I feel happy, as I am a bit worried about how cramped things are and getting one plant out of there will drastically open things up to prevent mold getting hold. The smell is really quite strong now, even with the filter, and I can notice it outside the lung room in the main spaces of the building.
