The seed germinated without a problem within three days in my propagator. I put the seedling into an 12.5l Airpot into my greenhouse. At night I will take them indoors if the temperature falls below 12C.
I kept the plant indoors in my grow room. Everything is perfect. I will put the lady in the greenhouse over daytime since temperatures are rising in Germany.
The plant is now in the greenhouse and continues to grow vigorously, although the weather is still pretty cold; I support the sunlight with a Spider Farmer SF-1000 in the greenhouse in the early mornings and evenings.
The plant again shows explosive growth (10cm). I put her in the sun on daytime and in the greenhouse during nighttime. I supplement the sunlight in the mornings and evenings with the Spider Farmer 1000 at around 60%. Started with some amateur LST.
The growth has been impressive and the lady has entered the pre-flowering phase. Also, I really like the structure of the Cosmos F1. It already now has many flower stems which will later form a flower roof without much training. This looks like an epic harvest for an autoflower. These F1 strains rock! The plant is outside or in the greenhouse depending on the weather.
On the downside, I had to fight a major attack by thrips and gnats. I manually treated every leaf and flower stem by rubbing of the insects and spraying them with CannaCure from every side. Also I applied nematodes to the substrate. The lady looks much better now, but the insects had already damaged a few leafs and flower stems in the upper part. This will not be a big problem going forward, but I learned an important lesson: Every day counts when these little devils attack your precious lady.
The weather was quite rainy and cold, so the plant was in the greenhouse. Growth is still impressive and flowers are showing everywhere. I started to give Alga Bloom. The christmas tree structure described by RQS is developing nicely. This helps to create a flower roof. I am really looking forward to seeing what this great genetic will produce.
The plant is putting all of her incredible power into developing uncountable flowers. This is the best genetic I have seen in my short career. Due to the christmas tree structure, the flowers get light naturally without defoliation or training. If only the weather gets better so that I can put the lady more out of the greenhouse into the sunshine ...
Cosmos F1 is firing out flowers like crazy. She has almost stopped growing and is at 66cm. I have never seen a plant of this size with such an amount of flowers, basically without training or intervention. You have to see it to believe it. If more F1 strains have these characteristics, they will win big time. Orion F1 last year was also good, but Cosmos F1 plays in another league. The environmental conditions were ideal. We had a lot of sunshine and less rain last week in Germany. I put her in the sunlight at day and in the greenhouse at night.
The weather last week in my region of Germany was cold and rainy, so I kept the plant in the greenhouse. Cosmos F1 is flowering like crazy and you can smell it. The upper flowers already show some orange colours and trichomes are sparkling, nice!
The lady grows her buds nicely. The weather was less nice, though, so I kept her in the greenhouse for most of the week. You can see on the second picture how far this plant is grown horizontally, without any training; very good genetic! I started to give her Plagron Green Sensation this week (it was part of the starter pack). Let us see, whether we get a perfect finish for this fantastic lady.
This week the conditions were ideal. A lot of sunshine, warm temperatures. As in the last week, Cosmos F1 was in the garden at day and in the greenhouse at night. The buds are fattening nicely. Her leaves are degrading quickly, I have to defoliate every day. I will stop feeding her today and give her only water for another one to two weeks; trichomes are getting milky. Harvest is approaching :-)
Cosmos F1 is in the last days of her splendid life. I gave her only water; in the last days I poured 2l until runoff. Today, the runoff water was clean. Trichomes are milky, with a few in amber. I will harvest her on Wednesday. Stay tuned!
Cosmos F1 was very easy to grow. It developed a superb structure without LST, forming numerous buds. However, the plant stayed comparatively small (66cm) and became very bushy. The smell is superb, lime and vanilla dominate. After a few weeks of curing the taste from my vaporizer (Inhale Lotus) is very complex and multilayered. At lower temperatures and at the beginning orange, lime and sweetness dominate, then I could taste ripe apples as well as mint and finally at higher temperatures vanilla and pine wood. The effect is relaxing, you feel a pleasant tingle in legs, arms and head without any psychoactive elements. Very nice and unique!
Harvest day was day 91 and 93 after germinating. I should have removed the lower branches a few weeks ago, because I discovered some bud rot in the very early phase during trimming. This was caused by the bad weather and high humidity in this "summer" in Germany, although I put her in the greenhouse when it rained.
I also might have waited a few days to long, because at least on the higher bud sites more than 10% of the trichoms are milky. I am drying a total of 204g of plant material, of which 103g are trimmed buds and 101g are trimmings and lower buds. Trimming took quite long, because the buds were rather small and light with a lot of sugar leaves.
