Week 4 of vegetation has just started and i haven't fed her any nutrients yet. So far, i gave space for 8 sub colas, and 1 main cola. No major issues yet, other than the leaves which i wish they were greener than that. I know that some fertilizer could possibly help, but i am going for a season where i feed only when its urgently needed! 22 hours into week 4 and i have applied some new LST points. Looking good to me over all!. Still keeping her at 3.5 cm height! By late in day 23 all leaves got a green color with which i was satisfied, and all this without needing the help of any nutrients! Because of my eagerness to apply as much as possible LSTing i ended up breaking one of the sub branches :( On day 25 i turned the blooming lights down to 10% since the other plant reached the end of its circle. Day 27 and visually she seems to be doing great, apart from a few signs of what possibly could be a nitrogen toxicity issue, for which i can't do much other than wait for it to go away. So far she has experienced as you can tell a lot of LSTing the only leaves that were cut down were a couple of fan leaves that would otherwise create a shadow over the little future sub colas! Her sister on day 27 already showed up her first pistils, i am happy to see that this one hasn't showing up any pistils yet which i am taking to my advantage for further training in an attempt to give space to as many sub colas as possible, since i want to keep it as small as possible but at the same time have as colas as possible.

Grow Questions

At which stage of flowering should i change to a bloom fertilizer? Currently "flowering" period has just started 2 days ago and it will need about 7-8 weeks until to be ready for harvest. At which stage of flowering is nitrogen not needed at all anymore?

Hello! Well Nitrogen will be needed during the whole life cycle but the amount isn't the same in veg / flowering and late flowering do the only moment you don't need nitrogen anymore is when you will flush your plants just before harvest. So in veg and early flowering ( the 2 first weeks) they require more an higher amount of nitrogen than in middle and late flowering and that is why the bloom nutrients also contain nitrogen. So to answer your question you will need to decrease nitrogen at the end of week 2 and slowly increase the P and K. I hope it will help you 😁✌️🏼

Hey the HGMary, you've got burnt tips - a tell tale sign of nutrient burn 🔥 in case you're wondering what to do , flush by watering until run off then add 20% more water, and squeeze out excess water by squeezing the grow bags . You can cut the nutrients by half and still get good results ! Hope this helps ! 🚀

Do you think the yellowish leaves are because of nutrient deficiency, a nutrient burn, or just her fall colors?
Solved

OutForRealanswered grow question 6 years ago
We can already say it isn't her fall colours ( senescence ) because the yellowing would not come with burn tips/leaves ( check out my blue dream diary , I have scenescance without the burnt ) and a scenescance would have been different , the yellowing would have been on the older leaves first which is not your case. The same for the nutrient deficiency , it would have been from yellowing from the bottom to the top for a mobile nutrient def ( in your case it can looks like a potassium deficiency but it isn't ) or on the new leaves for a immobile nutrient deficiency ( iron, zinc , ect) . So the only solutions that remain are the Nutient burnt and it looks like that in your case , with burnt tips on a perfectly healthy plant OR the light too close from the plant causing this ( 10 cm is low ) so if I were you I would up that led a bit and low a bit my nutrient input 😊

Hello! Enjoying watching your 2-nd dairy. Easy to see that your skill is growing up! Plant looks bigger and more beautiful. Looks like it flowering slower then 1-st one. But I think it is better for you in this situation. Because, I hope you’ll get much fatter and heavy buds at the end. Want to thank you one more time for 1-st dairy. It is very similar to my. I have a tiny plant too, because I have a micro stealth growing style. My girl is surviving in a MidTower PC case =). And as I can see from pictures of your 1-st dairy it is about 2-3 weeks to harvest. That’s a good surprise for me, cause at one moment I thought it’ll die. I saw your «Feels like» & «Taste like» from 1-st dairy and Review. But want to ask your opinion about this strain a few weeks later after first impression. Is it powerful enough? Many people says that AUTO strains is not so powerful, but Auto Hindu Kush is pretty good for AUTO. What do you think about it? How long effect? Would you grow this strain again, or will try another one?

@John007, hi John thank you for this cool message! :) Like you, me too i am going for a stealth micro grow, and that first diary apart from being my first one i wanted to stay as stealth as possible, something that i could do in a pc grow box if i had one but my grow space is not much bigger than a pc grow box anw. Will see, how the buds will develop, while i am hoping for fat buds i dont think i will achieve it because i still have a lot to learn and i m preety sure i had quite a number of mistakes in this diary as well. Currently my biggest issues are controlling the temperature at night with low temperatures i can see the bad effects on her, trying to improvise on that and also i have an issue with proper bloom fertilisers, where i come from my local gardening shop un this period doesnt have blooming fertilisers which is a pain in the bud and i m trying to improvise on this issue by adding what ever i can find. Not having the right fertiliser for the blooming period can return much smaller buds that what you would expect :( My review remains the same about the strain as it was in the beginning. Indeed in the past autos were in a disadvantage but i firmly believe that nowadays there are a lot of autos that are as powerful as photoberiods are. Autos in my opinion are better for beginners and for people who want to grow stealthy and a small stash for themselves. In the future i would love to try actually more autos but hindu kush auto surely is one strain i will be coming back again and again. I hope i ve got you covered :)

@GrowSport, yep 15 weeks its pretty long for an autoflower i think too, but given that i grew again the same genetics i do believe the pot size determines for how long she will be in vegetation stage, the previous grow was in a 2 lt pot and vegged for only 3-4 weeks while this one which is in 5-6 lt pot she vegged for 5-6 weeks :) I am not complaining though for the duration of the growth because the more she needs to harvest the bigger the yield. I would love to try again in the future the very same genetics in a proper grow room in a 100% controlled environment and having the nutrients that i would love to have and not the nutrients i could find. i do believe that if i get all the conditions right, these genetics can yield great results both quantity and quality wise :)

Great diary and fantastic yield for such a small pot size. The leaves look almost like Sativa despite this being a pure Indica!? Congratulations and enjoy!

@Buddha2, yes i think the leaves look like this because of the heavy defoliation i ve done, but this time i will control myself to cut half of what i did here! :)

Looking good! I'm on my second grow... trying to figure out the best time for harvest. Yours looks close... I'll follow along to see how your harvest goes. How did you decide on this variety? What traits were you aiming for?
Homegrown_Mary
Homegrown_Mary
@Njanne, Hello, hopefully i will be harvesting in a few days, i am hoping in about 7 days from now, but to be honest i will harvest once 70-80% of pistils are orange. As for the variety i chose it because 1) i love kush variations, 2) i like indicas i find them helping me with sleeping difficulties both getting to sleep and staying asleep without waking up in between, and 3) i chose this variety because it was promoted as a strain that has a short flowering stage even though with this 2nd grow it rather has a longer period in flowering. :)
