Week 6 Grow Diary Report: Days 36-42 In the sixth week of our grow diary "Schroedinger's Plants," the focus remained on maintaining optimal conditions for Tropicana Cookies, Gorilla Zkittlez, and Apple Strudel. This week involved addressing pH imbalances, managing nutrient levels, and introducing a new topdressing strategy to support the blooming phase. Plant Progress: 1. Tropicana Cookies: Growth: The plants continued their healthy growth trajectory. Health: Plants remained in good health throughout the week. A minor issue with high soil pH was addressed. Interventions: Watering & Feeding: 3 liters of water with a pH of 5.5 on June 5th, which was noted to be too low. Corrective measures included adjusting the soil pH using methods similar to those employed for Apple Strudel. Nutrient Application: Applied Alfa Boost at 1.5 ml/L and Top Max at 1 ml/L on June 5th. On June 6th and June 10th, a 2-4-4 topdressing was applied, incorporating Frosty Bud Nature Mycorrhiza, Bat Guano, and Azomite to support the plants during the blooming phase. A soil test was conducted on June 5th to determine the nutrient content. Defoliation: Light defoliation was performed on June 6th. Soil Test Results: The soil test on June 5th revealed the nutrient levels in the soil, allowing for precise adjustments to be made. Environmental Conditions: Maintained stable temperatures at 25°C during the day and 20°C at night. Relative humidity was controlled between 63-75%. PPFD: 650 2. Gorilla Zkittlez: Growth: The plant continued to grow well, showing no signs of stress or significant issues. Health: Overall health was good throughout the week. Interventions: Watering & Feeding: Watered with 3 liters on June 6th and 4 liters on June 9th, with a pH of 6.2 and 6.3, respectively. Nutrient Application: Applied Alfa Boost at 1.5 ml/L on June 6th. On June 6th and June 9th, a 2-4-4 topdressing was added, which also included Frosty Bud Nature Mycorrhiza, Bat Guano, and Azomite to support the blooming phase. Defoliation: Light defoliation was performed on June 7th. Environmental Conditions: Temperatures were maintained at 25°C during the day and 20°C at night, with humidity maintained at 75%. PPFD: 620 3. Apple Strudel: Growth: The plants showed healthy growth, though some new growth appeared small, indicating a possible calcium deficiency. Health: Minor issues with calcium deficiency were noted. Interventions: Watering & Feeding: Watered with 3 liters on June 6th and 4 liters on June 9th, with pH adjustments from 6.4 to 6.5. The pH was later adjusted to a range of 6.0-6.2 due to soil pH measurement showing 7.5, indicating a calcium lockout. Nutrient Application: On June 6th, a 2-4-4 topdressing was applied, including Frosty Bud Nature Mycorrhiza, Bat Guano, and Azomite to support the blooming phase. Defoliation: Light defoliation was performed on June 6th. Environmental Conditions: Similar stable conditions as the other strains, maintaining 25°C during the day and 20°C at night, with humidity consistently at 75%. PPFD: 600 General Observations and Actions: pH Management: Adjustments were made to correct the pH levels in the soil, especially for Tropicana Cookies and Apple Strudel, to prevent nutrient lockout and ensure the plants can absorb magnesium effectively. Nutrient Management: Regular applications of Alfa Boost and 2-4-4 topdressing, including Frosty Bud Nature Mycorrhiza, Bat Guano, and Azomite, were made to support the plants during their blooming phase. The soil test for Tropicana Cookies will hopefully provide valuable insights into the nutrient content, enabling precise adjustments. Defoliation and Training: Light defoliation was carried out to enhance light penetration and airflow, supporting healthy development and reducing the risk of mold and pests. Conclusion: Week 6 has been focused on addressing pH issues and ensuring that nutrient levels are balanced to support the blooming phase. The plants have responded well to these adjustments, showing continued healthy growth. Moving into the next week, we will continue to monitor the plants closely, maintain stable environmental conditions, and make necessary adjustments to support their ongoing health and vigor. The introduction of the 2-4-4 topdressing. Oh, one more thing....week 6 also marked Northern Lights entering the Growtent which is cultivated by Life Partner.
