Banana sounded fun so here we go 04/25/24- dropped her into the soil 04/27/24- she’s still workin on coming all the way out but I see her. Hopefully her little friend comes off so I don’t have to help. Formerly known as Banana OG and now simply Banana, this sativa-dominant hybrid (60% sativa) boasts impressive strength, with potency levels ranging from 23% to an extraordinary 30%. Banana's standout qualities include not only her robustness but also her unique taste profile. Banana is the result of crossing the reliable OG Kush with a distinctive Banana variety. Given her sativa-dominant nature, she tends to grow tall, so ample vertical space is recommended. For those with space constraints, employing a Sea of Green (SOG) method or topping can help manage her growth. Her striking appearance, with tall stature and emerald-green buds accented by golden pistils, adds to her visual appeal.

05/04/24. Made it through germination Not much to say. She’s growin. Bit leggy which makes no sense seeing as her leaves are sitting right on top of each other with like NO node space. Light about 23 inches up at 50% Humidity 55-50% Temperature 72-78f No nutrients yet, just watering when light. 05/10/24. Going into week 2. A day early but might as well get the ones growing together on same day update. What’s a day difference? Still annoyed by not being able to update this all day. The site has been ass. Anyhow, I love banana the most. She’s beautiful and perfect and I wish it was her ina contest. She’s had no food just water. She’s 100% light- bout 22 inches from I believe. I’ll come back and fix later If I’m off. Yeah. I love her. She’s my favorite. Don’t tell the others.

05/17/24. Going into week 3 Ohhh BANANA!! I love her. She’s such a pretty happy baby. She’s going to be a model when she grows up. Well, one that isn’t corrupted by the industry & perverts LOL. Annnnnywayyy.. she has NO issues to report. She was transplanted a few days ago. Lights at 100% about 21 inches up. Temperature at 75-80f. Humidity at 55-62 Hmm well I guess that’s it for now. Thanks for looking. :)

05/24/24. Going into week 4 Let the problems begin! Kidding. I hope they’re over. So, after already having issues with another girl, perfect Banana decided she would jump on the beat train too I guess. Her issues seem different than the other girl. Her leaves now have giant brown shit all over them. It started as just little brownish rust specs that seemed like calcium deficiency. No big deal right. I watered her with some calmag. Wow did that apparently piss her off. Now it’s spread and it’s huge. Now it looks more like phosphorus deficiency. This too is progressing fast. I’ve watered her today with light nutrients and going to see what happens. So far in my growing journey I haven’t had any real problems in veg. I guess it was my time lol Light has been dimmed to 70% at 22 inches. Temperature has been way too hot at times for my liking at 75-85. Humidity between 55-62%. I guess that’s all the bad news for now. Wish me luck in getting this girl back to her normal beauty :)

06/07/24. Going into week 6 Ahh Bananas. That’s what this girl is making me lol. So last week the site just didn’t wanna work for me whenever I tried to update. We will catch up here. She had been doing terribly with what I have assumed to be phosphorus and calcium deficiencies. I had previously not fed when this showed up. Usually I have over feeding issues so I tried to play it safe and thought I’d feed when she showed signs of hunger. BAD move. Almost catastrophic. Overnight almost all her leaves were destroyed. :( I first thought it was just calcium so I was feeding her with that. It got worse and worse. Gave her a fat dose of bloom nutes and it stopped spreading to other leaves. Now I’m giving her equal parts micro grow and bloom, but needing to increase the amount of bloom and calcium I think. Newer leaves aren’t being affected yet but it does seem as though the previously damaged ones are continuing to slowly get worse.. which makes me nervous. She has grown 5 inches this week wth? Her branches are growing now. Hopefully her sad little stem catches up. I haven’t trained this girl at all as there’s just been too many issues and stress going on. So, that sucks, but it is what it is. Environment all same as it has been. To continue in keeping shit real, I’ve included the nasty damaged pictures. Maybe someone experiencing these issues can find some help and hope in this diary Plus! It kinda looks like rotten banana peels LOL Thanks for poppin by into the Banana chaos. Hope you have a good weekend :)

06/21/24 Going into week 8 Mother fucken banana. Had banana cream pie last night. It was pretty good. Tasted like banana pudding, but pie. As for the plant. Mmmmm I don’t know anymore. I feed her she’s mad. I don’t feed her she’s mad. I move her from light she’s mad. Just have a rotten banana. Kidding. She grows like there’s not a problem. If you look at her from anywhere but the mid/bottom section.. she’s beautiful. I guess she just hates me at this point lol. Included nasty leaf picture for your displeasure. Keep keepin it real doods Oh almost forgot. Rubbed the crackled parts of leaves to knock dead parts off. Cut off bottom little branches

07/06/24. Going into week 2 flower. (Day behind on update) Holy banana 🍌🍌🍌😳 This lady is going crazy. She gave me so many issues all through veg but jeez now she’s flourishing. We’ve come a LONG way If you look back through veg weeks you can see the struggle, as I included all the ugly and showed every issue. You can vaguely still see some of her older nasty angry leaves. I did not remove them so I could see progression etc. I’m feeding her what I think is a massive amount of food. She is one of the now two hungriest plants I’ve ever seen. Her next feeding will probably be the last I include so much nitrogen. I will start cutting it down with each feed. 10/10/10 is what she’s had the past 2 weeks I believe. She’s drinking about a gallon of water every other day. Wew. A couple weeks ago it was every few days. Thirsty and hungry 😋 She didn’t do much the first week, but now she’s starting to stretch and develop little buds. I’m not sure what her actual height is atm as I got a bit worried about how tall she might get, and last minute trellised. I’m very happy with the turnaround here. Didn’t expect to even make it with this girl honestly. Persistent and love really CAN make a difference it seems. Don’t let me jinx myself! Lol Okay well I think we’re caught up for now

7/14/24. Going into week 3 flower Crazily enough banana is doing great. I guess this girl is only happy when she’s flowering hahah. She’s spread out a lot and looks amazing so far to me. She’s developing her buds now and they seem far ahead of one of her friends that’s struggling. It figures.. the one that’s been perfect the whole time is doing poorly now, while banana, who I thought was a rotten pain in my ass before, is flourishing. Let’s gooooo bananaaaaasssss

07/23/24. Going into week 4 flower. It seems stretch has now concluded. Buds are starting to grow and most branches have reached up through the trellis. Not all is as even as I’d like, but pretty good considering there’s no mainline, which I’m told is really the way to accomplish such. Am noticing some deficiencies and will address them. This girl has always wanted massive amounts of food. She is like 2 plants put together though, so it makes sense now. I read that plants more sativa dominant liked less food, so this is pretty funny. Other than minor deficiency, shockingly, banana is much more well behaved in flower. She was a pain in the ass through veg. Oh! Almost forgot, I did clean up small branches and leaves from underneath like 2 days ago when it seemed stretch had stopped. Light was also dimmed to 50% from about 70. Looked as though some tips of hairs were curling, which I assumed was light related. It has since stopped.

07/30/24. Going into week 5 flower We are at day 35 out of the stated 70 days, so quite awhile to go here. This should be exactly midpoint. I assume she will go longer, but time will tell. Not much changed since last report other than the leaves that were starting to yellow.. pretty much fully yellowed. I don’t think it’s due to under feeding and am going to dial back the nutrients a bit and see the response.

08/07/24. Going into week 6 flower Day 43 of stated 70 days, so still about a month to go. I’m thinking pretty accurate as of now. Still loads of white hairs and lots of fattening going on. There’s nice frost and a few orange hairs here and there. Starting to smell stronger. Not really sure of the smell. It’s a bit musky. Random leaves are still yellowing, and seems to be happening at higher and lower feed levels. I assume it’s just going to happen as we’re well into flower. I’ve increased the light intensity now to about 65%. We’ll see the reaction to that and change if anything seems off. Other than that, just monitoring and waiting. Until next time..

08/14/24. Going into week 7 flower. Day 50 out of stated 70. About 3 weeks to go (possibly) About now or soon is when I’d normally stop feeding as the end would be near. The same isn’t happening here as she’s a longer strain, supposedly. I still see plenty white hairs and growth of buds happening, as well as a very thirsty girl persisting. So, according to her, the food continues on. The leaves continue to lighten in color and some are still flat out yellowing. The way the yellowing is happening on the leaves looks like potassium deficiency to me. Feeding her today. These buds are turning into chunkers and the frost keeps comin 😄

8/21/24. Going into week 8 flower Are we there yet? Haha.. no. Day 57 out of stated 70. 13 days? Hmmm I don’t know. I thought she might go longer than that, BUT now I think it’ll be less. I suspect another week and she’ll be ready. Appearance wise, I’d say she’s pretty much there.. trichomes say other wise. Still quite a bit of clear with the start of milky coming. It’s all gonna be about ripening now. Water/fed her today. She’s yellowing heavily or I would have already stopped. I’m guessing this is just her type of fade. No real colors going other than yellow. Maybe that’s because she’s a banana 😄 I increased the light to 80% a couple days ago just to be a pushy bitch. I’ll decrease it way down to probably about 40-50% in a few days because I like to do that when they’re finishing up to help bring temperature down and I think it makes them wrap it up. These pictures don’t do justice to the fatness of these buds. They’re obese and not ashamed. Body positivity with this girl. Somehow some of the buds have suicided. Aka jumped out of their spot in the trellis and tried to hit the floor. I can’t do anything about it really. Can’t reach them and can’t be bothered. Smell? Skunky rotten fruity…idk. And coffee? You can smell it through the place and maybe at the neighbors LOL Wellp. Waiting game now. See yuh next time ✌️

08/29/24. Going into week 9 flower Day 65 out of stated 70. I think this one might be about spot on. Quite a lot of milky trichomes when I checked a couple days ago. I will be checking again today. Not much else going on, other than water only now and decreased light intensity to about 55%. Gotta say that even with the fights I had with this girl in parts of veg, I’m loving how things are turning out. She’s a freaking sticky, frosty, smelly beast. Can’t wait to see what harvest brings, but don’t worry.. she won’t be rushed. Anyhow, Ill update if anything changes Update: 09/03/24. Banana is no longer with the living. She was taken last night and is hanging fully in a dark closet at 61/72 with a small fan for air movement. It’s pointed down and not blowing at her. I don’t have a way to wet weigh, I always just give dry weight so no point in doing the harvest update week yet. I will do that when she’s dry and ready to cure. She’s definitely heavy though :)

She was taken down 09/02/24 She dried for 9 days at what was hoped to had been around 60/60 but the temperature was between 72 up to 80 at one point, with the average being around 76. This was not ideal, and made drying faster than I had hoped. Nonetheless, seems as though she turned out fine. I was worried about the smell not being ideal etc. Alls good. Phew. I’ve trimmed her up and she’s in jars now to cure. Humidity is sitting at 59. Trimming her was pretty easy.. and I hate to trim. She was much more bud than leaf thankfully. Buds are good sized, dense, sticky, and frosty. As for now, not getting any smells of bananas lol. I guess maybe the cure could change that. Guess we’ll see. Will finish smoke report after some curing/smoking
