Not sure how it's going, looks good so far to my noob eye, but wondering if they're dropping a bit or if they look ok.
5/31 looking better today.
5/31 around 11pm I noticed an issue with plants sagging and dark green leaves. Research indicates likely nitrogen overdose. I upped calmag from 2ml/g to 5 so that may have done it. Watered them with some distilled water to flush it out hopefully. Lights go out at 2am until 6am so Ill check them again at that time. Any second opinions are welcome.
6/1 well that seemed to work because as soon as The lights came back on They looked bigger
and better than ever.
6/3 wrapping up week here soon. I think I'm overwatering. I didn't water today and the pots are still very heavy. I've been seeing symptoms of overwatering according to my research. I've turned down the light power this week from 40% to 30%. I am not going to water them at all today just to see how they react. At first it was just plant one showing the symptoms but now two and three are slightly as well. I have green algae on top of the coco which I have found out is another symptom of overwatering. They are still growing very fast well from what I can tell but I'm wondering if they can be growing even faster If I slow down on the watering a little. When I go to work tonight I will check them for lights out at midnight and see how they did without water today. Checked runoff pH and PPM and everything looks great there. Temps stay in the 70 to 75 range with humidity 58 to 65. I recently moved my humidity target down from 65 to 60.
good luck with your first grow.
My experience is that watering frequently is a bad thing for cannabis.
I also did it it for the first days and early on it was ok, but you want to change quickly to a watering shedule where the surface is dry for a longer period of time and the roots take water from deeper areas of your pot.
Im my opinion/experience the plants need a little bit of dry stress after a couple of days to encourage roots to grow deeper.
@PDreer, I dont know. sorry I only just saw that you are mostly using coco coir. I have no experience with that. forget what I said 😨
However, in general, my experience is: better too dry than too wet
I am only watering to runoff at least 2 inches away every 4 to 5 hours. Then during my off time it gets no water for ten hours give or take a couple daily. I have self feeding pots but that won't work until the roots reach the bottom. Is ten hours daily without water enough? It's usually dry when I check it.
@gottagrowsometime, thank you very much. I haven't been able to update recently so I just dropped the last few weeks worth of pics. Eagerly awaiting the results of this first grow and so far they look pretty good from what I've been told by more experienced growers.
