Introduction - Week 12 Summary -
Ensign's log, stardate 9934.62,
As far as this grow cycle, not much to do in the 4x4 tent while drying this week. Basic daily checkups. Even with the down time, still had quite a busy grow week!
Mainly been tending to the vegging mother plants in the 3x3 tent. Also took clone cuttings for the next grow cycle and planted them into Coco Coins and am now waiting for them to root.
Oh! Already started popping new genetics for the next grow cycle! Two seeds were planted and by the end of the week had two sprouted seedlings! Also got more beans for the seed stash!
Also got more BAS supplies and have started pre-prepping for the next grow cycle.
Okay! Two more days before the big trim day!
Maximum warp Ensign! Engage!

--- One of the seeds seems to have grown into her cotton pad. Will have to be careful.
--- Anyways,
--- Time to start the planting process!
--- Let's go!!
--- First, the wetting solution!!!
- [13:27]: Filled a measuring cup with 2 cups of RO water.
--- Added 1/64tsp of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60]
--- Added 1/32tsp of Horticultural Aloe
--- Added 1/16tsp of Mycrobe Complete
--- Mixed the solution and poured the solution straight into a spray bottle.
--- Going to be planting into solo cups before transplanting into the fabric pots.
--- Since the soil is pretty dry, will be pre-wetting before planting.
- [13:43]: Filled a plastic container with 2 full solo cups of BuildASoil 3.0 Potting soil.
--- Added 1/2 cup of the wetting solution.
--- Mixed the soil and gave it a good squeeze.
--- The soil clumped up nicely but no water leakage. Perfect!
--- Time to fill the solo cups!
--- Going to do a double planting! Let’s go!
- [13:57]: Filled two solo cups with the pre-wet soil.
--- Made a shallow indentation into the center of each cup.
- [14:02]: Inoculated each solo cup with Beauveria Bassiana.
------ Sprinkled 1/32tsp of Beauveria Bassiana Plus Powder into the center of each indentation.
- [14:08]: Time to plant the sprouted seeds!
--- Since one of the seeds grew into her cotton pad, started with that pheno.
--- Using my fingers and a pair of scissors, I very gently tore and removed the cotton pad from the seed’s tap root. Really hope I didn’t damage anything.
--- The other seed didn’t grow into her pad and was easily removable.
- [14:09]: Using my fingers, gently placed each seed into their solo cup. Made sure each was placed onto an inoculated area with her tap root sideways.
--- Sprinkled and covered the seed with a pinch of fresh BuildASoil 3.0 Potting soil. Just enough to fully cover the tap root and seed.
--- Misted the top of each cup with 15 sprays of the wetting solution.
- [14:23]: Covered the top soil of each cup with BuildASoil Organic Straw Mulch.
--- Misted the top of each cup once more with the solution (10 sprays each).
--- At this time, also made sure to mark each cup with the genetic name, pheno number, and date.
- [14:32]: Covered each solo cup with a clear solo cup.
--- Misted the inside of the cup with a bit of distilled water (~3 sprays each).
--- Placed the solo cup onto the tent’s floor (on top of an upside-down plastic drip tray).
- [14:35]: Done!
--- Will check back daily for a sprout.
--- A bit nervous on the #1, but am hoping for the best.
--- Grow well little ones!
- [15:37]: Oh what!
--- Ordered some new seeds for the seed collection and they arrived a lot quicker than expected!
--- Got some ‘Chill Out OG’ from ‘Mr. Grow It!’
--- This is a ‘Brisker OG’ (Square One Genetics) crossed to a ‘Pakistan Valley’ (World Of Seeds) pheno. These genetics are the 3rd filial generation (F3) and are regular photo period seeds. Got a total of 10 beans.
--- Oh what!
--- Got 3 free ‘Chill Out OG’ F4 tester seeds! Was not expecting this! Going to be popping these next year for sure!
--- Also got some free sticker slaps! Nice!
--- As a self-taught solo-grower, all of my grow knowledge is from the internet through blogs, videos, and podcasts. Mr. Grow It’s garden talk videos provide essential gardening techniques and tips which make learning to grow a whole lot easier. Shout out to Chris and for all of his ‘Mr. Grow It’ podcasts along with the ‘From The Stash’ team!
- [17:26]: Evening check on the 3x3 veg tent.
--- Mother plants are vegging along and looking good! Going to take cuttings today and both the original #1 and #2 phenos look perky and green!
--- #4 is still funky. Plan to water soon.
--- The Gorilla Goat seeds are still doing their thing and am hoping to see some sprouts soon!
- [17:27]: Checked the Ecowitt soil moisture sensor data:
------ 29% - [CH01 FP5 - Garlic Budder #1]
------ 29% - [CH02 FP5 - Original Garlic Budder #2]
------ 34% - [CH03 FP5 - Garlic Budder #4]
------ 32% - [CH04 GR7 - Original Garlic Budder #1]
------ 31% - [CH05 GR7 - Original Garlic Budder #2]
------ 38% - [CH06 GR7 - Garlic Budder #2]
------ 42% - [CH07 GR7 - Garlic Budder #4]
--- Been researching Ecowitt meters and fabric pots with living soil and decided to increase the overall soil moisture levels.
--- From what I’ve researched, these are the general percentage levels for ideal growth:
------ Veg:
--------- 38% - 45%
------ Flower:
--------- 45% - 55%
------ General:
--------- 30% [Dry]
--------- 45-60% [Moist]
--------- 70% [Wet]
--- Based on these percentages, I’ve been really under watering these plants (damnit Ensign).
--- Well going to gradually increase these averages to make sure I don’t over water.
--- Anyways,
- [17:38]: Time to start the cloning process for the next grow cycle!
--- Filled a measuring cup with 1.5 cups of RO water.
------ Added 1/8tsp of Horticultural Aloe
--- Mixed the solution and poured it straight into a solo cup.
--- Time to take the cuttings! For this clone round, going to be topping and using the tops as a clone.
- [17:43]: Using a pair of trimmers (AC Infinity),
--- Gently cut the first clone cutting from the original #1’s main stalk.
--- Trimmed and cleaned most of the leaves leaving some of the top nodes.
--- Did not cut the leaf fingers.
--- Made sure the tip of the stalk had a slanted cut (about 45-degree).
--- Placed the cutting into the cup of aloe solution.
--- Also made sure to keep the cutting labeled accordingly.
- [17:54]: Repeated this process again for the original #2 pheno.
--- Great! Now both mother plants are now significantly shorter and more manageable. May have topped a bit too much? Anyways,
- [18:00]: Placed the fresh cuttings into the 3x3 veg tent.
--- Going to let this cutting soak for a day before refreshing with straight RO water.
--- Let the 2-day soak begin!
- [18:05]: Checked on the 4x4 drying tent,
--- Ooo yea! Buds are just frosty!
--- Still no signs of mold.
--- Absolutely stoked for trim day!
--- Five more days!
--- Back in the 3x3 Veg tent,
- [19:09]: Filled a pump sprayer with 3 cups of RO water.
------ Added 1/64tsp of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60]
--- Gave the sprayer a good shake before spraying the entire solution onto the original #1’s straw mulch.
- [19:21]: Repeated this process again for the original #2 and #4 pheno.
--- Focused mainly on the straw.
- [19:23]: Filled the pump sprayer with 1 cup of RO water.
------ Added a pinch of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60]
--- Gave the sprayer a good shake before spraying the entire solution onto the original #2’s straw mulch.
- [19:28]: Repeated this process again for the #2 and #4 pheno.
--- Focused mainly on the straw.
--- Since both phenos in the back were topped, decided to top the front phenos as well.
- [19:32]: Using a pair of clean trimmers,
--- Topped both the #2 and #4 phenos.
--- Mulched the trimmings.
- [19:37]: Checked the humidifiers.
--- Tanks are still full and no leaks found.
Day 05 - Friday - 12/06/24 - Total Days: 082

- Soil %: [27, 28, 34, 43, 46, 44, 45, 00]
-----------------------------------
- [21:35]: Nice! More BAS supplies have arrived!
--- Got more BuildASoil 3.0 Potting soil and worm castings (1ft³ each) along with a fresh supply of Craft Blend (20lbs total). Everything was on sale so couldn’t resist!
- [21:53]: Night check on the 4x4 drying tent.
--- Looking beautiful!
--- Buds are still drying and looking perfect with frost!
--- No signs of mold.
--- Wow! Gave buds few a squeeze and these nugs are going to be sticky!
--- Also the terps are quite earthy and fuel-like! Totally stoked!
--- Four more days until the big trim day!
--- Okay! Since the new supplies have arrived earlier than expected, decided to start pre-prepping the 4x4 tent a bit for the next grow.
- [21:59]: Placed an old ACI 5-gallon fabric pot into an empty 20-gallon Grassroots fabric pot.
--- Emptied the contents of the 5-gallon pot into the 20-gallon.
--- Was quite impressed on the amount of roots and was surprised to find worms still alive and looking great!
--- Soil was moist in the middle but dry on the top and sides.
- [22:32]: Emptied another 5-gallon pot into the 20-gallon.
--- Nice! Both pots still had worms!
--- Going to top the pot off with more potting soil.
- [22:59]: Filled the 20-gallon fabric pot with more soil.
--- This was a mix of used soil from previous grows along with unused but old 3.0 potting soil.
- [23:15]: Placed the 20-gallon Grassroots fabric pot into the 4x4 tent.
--- Just have it on the floor in the front for now, but will adjust everything later after the trimming is complete.
- [23:34]: Checked on the 3x3 veg tent,
--- Looking good my girls!
--- Mothers are vegging along and looking happy!
--- Even the #4 pheno is looking better! Still droopy, but better than before.
--- Clones are also looking nice and perky! Tops are all point straight up towards the light!
- [23:37]: Ooo yea! The first Gorilla Goat seed has sprouted!
--- The #2 pheno has fully sprouted and can clearly see her cotyledon leaves looking green and perky! Removed her clear solo cup dome.
--- Still no sign of the #1 pheno. May have damaged her roots too badly from the transplant (Damnit Ensign). Still early so hoping for the best.
- [23:38]: Time to swap the aloe water out for the clones!
--- Swapped the solo cup with a new one filled with fresh RO water.
--- Going to let this soak for another day before transplanting into a Coco Coin for rooting.
- [23:53]: Checked the humidifiers.
--- Tanks are still full and no leaks found.
Day 06 - Saturday - 12/07/24 - Total Days: 083
-----------------------------------
Daily Averages ~[+01:00]
- Temps: 74.1 °F [23.4°C]
- Humidity: 64.9%
- VPD: 1.01 kPa
- Soil %: [00, 00, 33, 41, 42, 42, 44, 00]
-----------------------------------
- [20:37]: Night check on the 3x3 veg tent.
--- Mother tent is looking great!
--- Veg growth is looking perky!
--- The #4 pheno is showing some signs of re-vegging, but also looking better than before.
--- Clones look great! Going to be transplanting these into fresh Coco Coins today.
--- Sweet the Gorilla Goat #2 seedling is looking happy and perky!
--- Still no signs of the #1 seedling.
- [20:42]: Checked the Ecowitt soil moisture sensor data:
------ 33% - [CH01 FP5 - Garlic Budder #4]
------ 39% - [CH02 GR7 - Original Garlic Budder #1]
------ 39% - [CH03 GR7 - Original Garlic Budder #2]
------ 39% - [CH04 GR7 - Garlic Budder #2]
------ 43% - [CH05 GR7 - Garlic Budder #4]
--------- Veg: 38% - 45% | Flower: 45% - 55%
--------- General: 30% [Dry] | 45-60% [Moist] | 70% [Wet]
--- Updated the soil sensors a bit before checking the levels. Will continue to adjust the names as needed.
- [20:48]: Okay! Time to begin the rooting process!
--- Configured the controller on the AC Infinity Propagation dome.
--- Made sure that the settings were set to:
------ START/END times - 04:00PM/10:00AM
------ Light intensity - 2 (out of 10).
--- Also made sure the propagation light controller’s time was in sync with the Controller 69 Pro.
- [20:58]: Filled a measuring cup with 1 cup of RO water.
------ Added a pinch of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60]
------ Added 1/64tsp of Horticultural Aloe
------ Added 1/32tsp of Mycrobe Complete
--- Mixed the solution thoroughly.
- [21:08]: Dropped two Coco Coins into the measuring cup.
--- The coin immediately started to expand.
--- [~10 minutes later]
--- Took each Coco Coin and slightly shook moisture out so it wasn’t dripping, yet still pretty saturated.
--- Temporarily placed each Coco Coin into half-cut solo cups.
- [21:21]: Using a squeeze bottle filled with Clonex,
--- Gently filled each pre-made hole with Clonex rooting gel.
- [21:26]: Time to plant the cutting!
--- Starting with the original #1 pheno,
--- Using a pair of clean trimmers, made a final 45° cut through the main stem.
--- Also stripped away and scared some of the stem’s outer membrane before inserting the cutting.
--- Made sure the stem was at least a good 1" below the surface of the coco.
--- To help with planting, while inserting the cutting, gave the Coco Coin a gentle squeeze to loosen the coco. This also helped to ensure the coco and gel was in good contact with the cutting.
--- Repeated this process for the original #2 pheno.
--- Made sure the name tags were placed next to the correct clone.
--- Misted the sides of the propagation dome with distilled water.
--- Also poured 1/4 cup of RO water into the drip tray.
--- Sprayed the top of the propagation dome before covering the cuttings.
--- Vents are fully closed.
- [21:45]: Done!
--- As far as PPFD,
--- Based on past cloning attempts, at level 2, the PPFD is around 130 μmol/m²/s which gives a DLI of 8.42 mol/m²/d
--- Will check back daily to cycle the air under the dome.
--- This time, may have cut the clones a bit too short.
--- Hopefully they root. Should be fine. I think.
- [21:53]: Took the wetting solution from earlier and poured it into a pitcher.
------ Filled the pitcher with RO until it was 8 cups full.
------ Added 1/32tsp of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60]
--- Mixed the solution and poured 2 cups straight into a pump sprayer.
--- Gave the sprayer a good shake before spraying the entire solution onto the original #1’s straw mulch.
- [22:25]: Repeated this process again for the rest of the phenos in the tent.
--- Focused mainly on the straw.
- [22:26]: Using a bottle of distilled water,
--- Sprayed the top of the Gorilla Goat #2 pheno (1 spray).
- [22:34]: Checked on the 4x4 drying tent,
--- Ooo yea! Drying long nicely!
--- Getting a bet loud now too! Overly hyped now for trim day!
--- Buds seem to be getting frostier every day yet still no signs of mold.
--- Also the 20-gallon pot looks pretty good. Going to wet the soil a bit for the worms.
- [22:40]: Filled the pump sprayer with 2 cups of RO water.
------ Added a pinch of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60]
--- Gave the sprayer a good shake before spraying the entire solution onto the straw mulch of the 20-gallon pot.
--- May re-wet the soil again a few more times before planting anything into this. The moist soil should also help with humidity control in the tent as well.
--- Also lowered the relative humidity in the tent.
- [22:45]: Within the AC Infinity App,
--- For the Main Tent [4x4] controller,
--- Adjusted the 'Drying [0/24]' Schedule for the exhaust fan.
------ Decreased the Humidity’s HIGH trigger value from 65% to 62%
- [22:48]: Checked the humidifiers.
--- Tanks are still full and no leaks found.

--------- General: 30% [Dry] | 45-60% [Moist] | 70% [Wet]
--- Propagation dome looks good but decided to lower it closer to the grow light.
- [19:57]: Gently lowered the propagation dome a few feet lower.
--- The light gives off heat which will help keep the dome warmer during lights on.
- [19:59]: Misted the top growth with distilled water.
--- Also misted both Gorilla Goat seedlings (1 spray each).
- [20:08]: Checked on the 4x4 drying tent,
--- TWO more days until Trim Day!

--- Tanks are still full and no leaks found.
--- Next week plan to trim the entire harvest and reset for the next grow cycle.
--- Almost done with this grow cycle, but the next one has already begun.
--- Still lots more to do!
--- Onwards Ensign!
[END OF WEEK 12]
Let's go garlic fam Bro I respect u just for your week description. Time codes, dates, the amount of info. I wish I could do even the 1% of this in my diarys. 🏻💚
@smoking_hills9,
Thanks growmie! Second time growing these phenos and my first clone grow. Yea, I reference these logs as I grow so they have to be detailed. This is also why my logs are about 2 weeks delayed. Sort of a full-time hobby!
