Hey guys, back with my 2nd go around. I'm a little late getting this going - been SUPER busy. I'm not too happy with how my first grow went, but I learned A LOT. This time around it's Kannabia Purple Kush and either Sensi Afghani #1 or Barney's LSD. If you could provide me help with identification it would be much appreciated. Any attempt at the ID of my mystery strain? It is either Sensi Afghani #1 or Barney's LSD. The smell is very, very weak. Mk at this time was smelling very grapey/fruity. This smells like a generic marijuana plant maybe with a hint of mint.
Hello! Sorry but you will never know , let me explain : LSD is supposed to have Mazar-i-shareef genes in it and the Mazari is ... an Afghan strain so the differences between the 2 strains will be very very slight . To me it's nearly impossible to know. I hope it will help you 😁👍
I don't know what to make of the purple kush right now. I'm going on 6 weeks of flower and it's got tiny buds. I had a hint of potassium deficiency about a week ago, but I've been feeding heavy and they are very happy. I've heard there are three phenotypes, and I believe I got the one which will show no purple with tiny buds. The purple kush smells like wet shoes. I'm not really happy with the plant right now. I hope it smokes nicely, but so far the plant is a bust. Not impressed Kannabia. NO HINT of purple at 6 week mark. I think it's going to take 80 days+ to complete. I'm almost positive the other plant is an Afghani #1 now, because it's so stretched which is common in the strain. It also smells like coffee which is a sign growers have mentioned on the Sensi forum. It also seems like I got another slow bloomer in this phenotype, but it's putting out twice the bud of the purple kush. I think I have 4-6 weeks left before completion. MUCH slower than my first grow.
Well, I'm at day 1 of week 6. Purple kush shows no sign of purple, but has thicknened up the past week or so and has developed a nice softball sized bush of buds. Purple Kush still smells like wet shoes, pretty nasty. Afghani on the other hand has dumped the coffee twang in favor of a sweet cherry aroma. Smell has been minimal from both plants. I think so far you could get by with growing purp kush in an apartment. Gonna get a nice baseball size cola off of the afghani. I posted a good size comparison of the main cola on the purp kush vs afghani, and you can see there is much more mass to the afghani. I'm not too impressed with the purple kush mass at this point. If you grow it, at a minimum it needs to be topped even for the grower who doesn't care about big yields. I've read that it is a good candidate for training, and I'd have to agree. Have a little bit of leaf curl up on the purp kush, so a tad bit overfed. I've also done a bit of lollypopping and defoliating on the purp kush. Going to water Sunday with a bit of bud candy and re evaluate if I should feed next week sometime. I think the purp kush is going to go for awhile, so the advertised 60 days is bunk. I'm thinking it's going to be 75-85 days. What the hell Kannabia? My plants are super happy and my temps are about 61ish during day, and 68ish during nighttime when lights are on.
Day 3 update of week 6: the purp kush hairs are turning rapidly orange and she has picked up a sweet peach smell. It's almost like this plant sparked up overnight and went into a new phase. We'll see if it puts on more mass. Weird plant so far. Afghani is going to give me a baseball bat. Still smells like sweet cherry. This thing is frostier than heck.
Now it's getting good. Purple kush smells like fresh, sweet peaches and the Afghani/LSD still smells of funky lemon/cherry. The purple kush smelled like shit at first, and now it's the best smelling bud I've ever smelled. I recommend growing it, but make sure to LST. I'm actually thinking this is LSD now due to the sweet smell. I have yet to find any mention of a sweet smell from Afghani #1. The first hit I will be able to tell, for I've smoked Afghani #1 before. Shit feels like morphine. I accidentally left the door open and let a bit of stray light in the first 6 hours of darkness a few times the past couple weeks, but I extended the dark period for 4-5 hours or so. It was very weak, indirect light. Then I let the timer go on as normal which was a shortened light period. I'm not sure if that was enough to cause the purp kush to hermie, but she's got a few nanners. I used a tweezers and plucked about 10 very small bananas off her. From online advice, I am choosing to ride her out being so close. The Afghani didn't herm out, so I'm thinking it's probably genetic. It is a strange plant, very slow to start flower and didn't put on a lot of mass although being VERY healthy besides a bit too much nitrogen. Then almost overnight she turned and started pumping out trichomes and the hairs started turning quickly. Both plants are a bit over fertilized right now, and I'm going to start flushing after one more dose of bud candy and calmag. I didn't expect the purp kush to complete at 8 weeks, but I think she'll be damn close. She's darkened up a bit, but no purp hues just yet. Temps are high 60s at night during light period and low 60s during the day. The Afghani is going to give me a main cola just shy the size of a spray paint can. Awesome plant, and super easy to grow. The purp kush has been a bit more pickier. On the home stretch now..
Well, I'm at week 8. Neither plant is near completion. Most trichomes are clear still with no sign of being milky. No sign of amber either. I'm thinking I'm chopping on February 4th. I don't want to let them go too long since both are shooting nanners. I stopped feeding and did at small flush at week 7, but it was too early. I fed them one more time, and I'm not going to be able to flush again for another week. The soil is just too wet. So I think I'll get a 10 day flush from it. This has been a hard grow, and purple kush has been a headache.
Both plants been sending out bananas, and I've tore them apart getting them all. I think the below average temp in my garage sent them into hermie mode. They are ready to harvest, but I'm going to go another week since I'm going to be out of town for work. Right now I'm like 70% milky, 28% clear, and 2% amber. Harvest will be on the 10th. About 2 weeks ago had a bit of potassium def, so I fed heavily the past 2 weeks to keep the buds looking decent. I'm gonna have a bit of seed, but I can deal with it. Flush has began. I'm fairly certain the larger one turned out to be Barney's LSD because of the lemony flavor and a tinge of purple at the end. We will see during the smoke. The LSD had more purple on it than the purple kush. I'm pretty pissed off I didn't get any purple from a strain advertised as purple kush. Kannabia needs more stabilization on that plant.
Hi guys, I harvested my LSD at 10 weeks flower and a few odd days. She didn't like the cold water I was flushing her with, and went into hermie mode, so I had no choice but to chop. I really enjoyed growing this strain. I have confirmed that this was indeed LSD, for the skunk #1 effects are felt heavily. She had a coffee twang early which gave way to a sweet cherry. She smelled pretty musky and lemony at the end and started getting hues of purple on the lowermost leaves first. I dried for 5 days and cured for 2 weeks now. In the jar it smells like moonberry ice cream - very creamy, sweet and has hints of berry. She smokes smooth and has a strong woody taste with hints of blackberry. The bubble hash water was straight up blood RED. This is a powerful strain, and not recommended for first timers. The main cola literally had trichome dandruff. I just got off a 40 day T-break and my second smoke it had me on the couch in a psychedelic like spiral. 1 bowl was too much. This strain takes about 10-15 minutes to fully hit, and when it hits, it hits hard and fast. I think at one point, I thought "Oh shit, I'm in for it." It had a little bit of "pull" that LSD and shrooms have. The head high is very clear and I feel like my conscious has been opened up a bit. Awesome strain for more upbeat music like trance. I am a self admitted shoegaze snob and shoegaze did not go well with it. Make sure to have the couch and music playing before the effects fully hit. Recommend to anyone who enjoys psychedelic like stones. It is hands down one of the most powerful strains I've ever had behind 30% Master Kush. The stone mellows out about 1.5 hours in, and I'm feeling happy and giggling a little bit about how powerful this stuff was. Must try for the connoisseur looking for some of the best smokes out there. With no topping, I think I got about 50 grams. A strong 8.5/10.
Overall, a decent yielder of large buds which aren't too dense, but literally have trichome dandruff. The smell is creamy, sweet, blackberry in the jar. Very strong psychedelic stone.
Overall, I was quite disappointed. The best thing about it is the fresh sweet peach smell throughout the entire flower. Buds didn't get a tinge of purple despite being in the low 60s most of the time. I expected the stone to be similar to grand daddy purple, but it's more like an Afghani #1 stone. Happy, content, lazy stone. Sex was off the table. The buds were the densest I've grown so far and the yield surprised me. Unfortunately I had this plant going into the 13th week of flower, so it takes some time to pack on the mass. If they could get the flower time down a week and get some more purple on it, they'd be doing well. The leaves were very dark green with a waxy like luster to them. This is a strain you would want to LST and/or top multiple times no matter the desired yield. Buds were very frosty as well. I would not recommend to a first time grower. It was a bit finnicky and hermied fairly easy with no known cause. I'm thinking cooler temps sent it into hermie mode, or a very tiny bit of light leaking from under the door. Tasted like cedar wood with hints of diesel and something else. I'm going to have to try it again to nail it down exactly. I'll update this weekend. Through and through, a connoisseur strain for the curious buyer.
An interesting strain to grow. Slow bloomer up to 14 weeks to complete. Smells like sweet peaches in bloom. I'd say average yielder of smaller very dense buds. Smoke is cedar wood with a bit of diesel and something else. Smoke is similar to an Afghani or Afghan Kush. Not a whole lot of purple hues on the plant with was a disappointment. Didn't handle low humidity well (I live in the desert SW), and hermied easily due to temps or very tiny bit of light leaking under the doorway.
Thanks for the feed back. Of course the two most similar strains I mix up. My wife threw them away as they were soaking in paper towels accidentally. I fished them out of the trash and the didn't know which one was which. I accidentally dumped one of them and killed it so a side by side is now impossible.
