GanjaGecko Hi guys. I planted a CottonCandyKush seed in the soil. Four days after the seed went into the substrate, she showed herself for the first time.
The cotyledons were very light at first, and the first real leaves that came out didn't look very promising either. That's why I'm germinating a second seed as a backup. The lady that looks more stable stays in the tent, while the other one is going outdoors to be raised by the sun.
For the second seed, to be on the safe side, I soaked it in a glass of water with 2 drops of Seedbooster Plus for 10 hours before putting it into the substrate. I hope it catches up somewhat quickly.
The substrate is a mix of about 40% BioBizz Lightmix, 40% coco with perlite, and 20% Megaworm from Plagron. I watered about 50ml. The only additive was MasterRoot at a mixing ratio of 1ml/L to ensure the little roots are well taken care of.

GanjaGecko Week 1 is over. So far, the CandyKush, which initially seemed weak, has picked up and looks quite stable for the first week. The second CandyKush that was planted as a backup broke through the soil after 5 days. And 7 days after planting the seed, it showed the first minimally serrated leaves.
On day 5, I topped up the substrate of CandyKush#1 a bit and watered with about 30ml. As an additive, I used MasterRoot at a mixing ratio of 1ml/L. I adjusted the pH value to 6.5 before watering.

The two LEDs are dimmed to 20W each. This gives the ladies 40W. The distance is about 20-25 cm.

The first period is quite uneventful. Hence, not many photos.

GanjaGecko The second week of CottonCandyKush has flown by. At the beginning of the week on day 9, the CottonCandyKush was moved into its 11L fabric pot. The substrate is a mix of 75% BioBizz LightMix and 25% coco with perlite. Each lady first got about 10L in her pot. As an addition, there was 1 teaspoon of Megaworm per liter of substrate. The CottonCandyKush was freed from its small seedling pot, then a bit of Great White Mycorrhiza was added to the mini root system, and it was nestled into its new home. It was watered the same day with about 600-700ml. From XpertNutrients, there was 2ml/L MasterRoot, 2ml/L MasterGrowA, 2ml/L MasterGrowB, and 1ml/L CalMagAmino. The whole mix was adjusted to a pH of 6.4.
On day 12, the surface of the substrate was moistened. One day later on day 13, the candy received 2×250ml with 2ml/L MasterRoot, 2ml/L MasterGrowA, 2ml/L MasterGrowB, and 1ml/L CalMagAmino, again adjusted to a pH of 6.4.
The temperatures were quite high, but the humidity was optimal at 65-70%. In early vegetation, that's not really a problem. On the contrary. The CandyKush loves it.
A SanlightQ1Wdim is set to 20W and the other to 10W with a distance of about 25-30 cm.
Here's to a new week full of strong growth💚

GanjaGecko The CandyKush has grown so quickly and developed so impressively that on Day 43, the light was set to 15/9. It was actually just for one day as a transition to 12/12, but unfortunately, I forgot to switch to 12/12 on Day 44, so it ended up being a two-day transition, which didn't really matter much. Day 45 was then the first day with 12/12.
The light is dimmed to a total of 50W. One Sanlight is dimmed to 30W and the other to 20W. The distance is about 20 cm.
On Day 43, the flowering nutrients were administered for the first time so that the substrate could start to enrich itself with the necessary nutrients.

GanjaGecko Week 8 was mostly still vegetation. The first signs of flowering appeared in the CandyKush on day 55 of vegetation. This means it went into flowering 10 days after switching the LED to 12/12. It has stretched so much that I might have to deal with cropping...😄

GanjaGecko The second week of flowering is over. Unfortunately, the fears about space issues have come true. Overall, I think 5 shoots got cropped, of which two experienced a very hard cropping. There was no other way. Otherwise, the buds would grow into the carbon filter :)
One shoot will only make it 50/50, the others are over the hill and stretching towards the light again. So far, this is the lady with the biggest stretch I've had. Generally, some adjustments had to be made. As you can see in the pictures, one LED was removed. The other was secured with cable ties to the upper frame of the tent. This way, it can hang a bit higher. From 2 LEDs with 20W+30W, it became 1 LED with 50W. I would like to have both lit with 30W starting next week. But the top bud already showed the first signs of bud bleaching, so I had to act. The 50W of one LED should be enough for the 40×40, with two LEDs it would have been a nicer lighting, but you can't have everything. The LED could still be raised a little higher. I hope that's not necessary :)
It's crazy how big the CandyKush has become, and the CandyKush in the ABC run was the smallest of all.

GanjaGecko The third week of flowering is done. All the shoots have coped well with the cropping so far. GanjaGecko Flowering week 4 of the CottonCandyKush went smoothly. All the shoots have recovered and are gradually letting their buds grow. A few buds were slightly bleached due to brief overexposure from lack of space at the tips. This has now been adjusted by dimming the LED to 80%=40W. Now the buds are getting a little thicker day by day💚

GanjaGecko Flowering week 6 of the CottonCandyKush has gone super well. The buds are getting thicker and thicker. Some leaves are turning a bit purple here and there, which was similar with the last pheno. The way it looks, it can be harvested in about one, at most two weeks. I'll check the trichomes next week and see how they look. There's nothing amber-colored in the photos yet. The pistils are still quite white, especially in the lower area. The buds are developing quite quickly. So I'm optimistic that it will only take one, maybe two weeks until the lady is ready for harvest.

GanjaGecko Week 7 of flowering for the CottonCandyKush is over. On day 102/46F, I checked the trichomes. The percentage of clear trichomes is still too high. Amber wasn't visible at all, and only a few were milky. The lower buds still have too many light pistils and could grow a bit denser. So, it will stay another week, and the trichomes will be checked again in the middle of next week. Except for Sugarshot and StickyFingers, the CottonCandyKush won't receive any more nutrients until the end.

GanjaGecko Flowering week 8 and the trichomes are mostly milky, a bit of amber is coming through and the least are clear. The CottonCandyKush was last watered on day 106/50F. On day 111/55F, the CottonCandyKush was then cut and hung up. The CottonCandyKush was hung up to dry except for 3 branches. The three separated branches were the smallest. My hope is that they dry a bit faster in the box and you already have a small sample to try :)
I think it will take about 7-10 days until the CottonCandyKush is ready to go into the jar. The next update will include a smoke review.

GanjaGecko The CottonCandyKush weighed in at 580g after being cut. The CandyKush was hung up to dry as a whole. Due to the damp and cold weather, a small dehumidifier was placed in the tent to ensure that the humidity didn't go over 60%. However, it also raised the temperature by about 2°C, which probably helped the CandyKush be ready for jars and 62% Boveda packs after 5 days.
Looks interesting too. I'm curious because they make solid seeds, so it should turn out tasty. A slightly lower pH doesn't make sense. Many micronutrients are better absorbed at lower levels. Yours look great, so my question is, did you never have any problems with that?
@Stony_German, I was really impressed with the last CandyKush in the ABC run. It finished super early, had a really nice scent with a slight hazelnut note, and an incredibly intense and strong flavor. The lady back then was just a bit small, so there wasn't much to taste from her. The lady in this grow, on the other hand, has grown quite well. I still have another CandyKush outside, and she's making a solid impression and is fully in bloom.
I once saw a chart that listed in which pH range our ladies absorb micro and macronutrients. I'll share the picture in the current week. If that doesn't work out, feel free to let me know.
So far, I've been increasing the pH by 0.1 every 7-10 days at the start of flowering until I reached 6.9.
