Finishing up my current grow. So I got my next one ready. First time trying multiple strains. But I'm looking for some good moms to pollinate 😂
UPDATE. I was able to retrieve seeds from my ibl v2 skunk #1 . The mom was super short and stocky. Really showing her indica . Arkain Jenetics is my company and this seed is something I'm very proud of. I had seeds from my gpaws who lived in Oregon and started growing after he got back from nam. He new the legendary Sam skunkman and was able to obtain a bunch of little bottles of seeds. And one was labeled SAMS SKUNKS .
anyways. I've added that seed to the grow. It is a pure photo so I will need to keep an eye on it either way male or female it will be useful.
Do a pre-soak on your rockwool cubes and plant the seeds directly inside (about 1 cm deep), put the cubes in a tray and close the lid/dome. With the right temperature, seeds should germinate quickly, usually between 24-72 hours. Once seeds have germinated and have started developing roots (about 2 weeks), the rockwool cubes can be placed in your chosen grow medium (e.g. soil).

All but the cpie auto has germed. I didn't like using the rockwool. I realized I like to see Taproot. Before just putting it in medium. So I put all of the seeds out of the rockwool and put em in their forever home. But the cpie had not even begun to open and it still hasn't and I can't find it. So I'm putting another one of my bx2 skunks in called temporarily called skunk v3. I got seeds from five different back crossed with Mexican and afghan phenos I created from breeding the original seeds my gpaw got in the late 80# after my gpaw came back from war he started growing
So yes I have og genetics. But I'm creating my own line of f1s -f4s and bxs.
Skunk v3 grew really short. 2 foot gallon fabric pots and after 14 weeks at chop ( I know it's early for a photo but I did this grow natural to see had the best natural traits I'm looking for. And it only grew to maybe MAYBE a foot. And yielded the most densest and biggest colas out of all of them despite being more than a foot shorter than the rest of the phenos I had going. So now I will have two bx F1 skunks growing instead of just one.
MY GOAL IS TO IDENTIFY THE SKUNKIEST OF THEM ALL. AND ENHANCE IT WITH SOMETHING GASSY ANNNNND SOMETHING LEMONY. HENCE GROWING THE CRITICAL THUNDER. AND THE SPECIAL QUEEN AND THE Royal GORILLA

Today I have them their first large hair cuts.
The past week an half I've been training and topping like crazy. I've left two of my autos alone aside from some lst. But the other auto I topped twice and and starting to get a manifold structure. The royal gorilla is large thick stems. It's taking her hst and toppings like a champ but since she is probably going to be the biggest I'm gunna be done topping. I've topped 3 times on her. On each new site. Lol. One of the critical thunder is showing really nice small size. I'm hopping it stays real small so it'll be a good mom for my shortest skunk pollen.
The special queens are great. They are taking the hst and toppings like champs. I been topping every couple days. Lol and they are still medium height.
Everything is going great.
I woudln't top an autoflower. just train it.
DLI is the primarfy factor for yield. Training just distributes it more evently when done well. The goal of that is less proportional larf of total yield, imo.
Everything is going good. Some are showing some sort of deficiency . Lowered lights a little bit. Going to start watering every other day. One of the critical thunder autos is like 8 inches tall lol definitely breeding her.
Royal gorillas are showing mag deficiencies. Despite feeding sulcalmag . So I need to figure this out. But everything is looking good . Smell is starting to really show. I lost my hole puncher so I need to cut holes for my training lines lol
A zinc, maganese or sulfur deficiency can all start out looking like this
.Give your plant a dose or three of soluble mineral mix/trace element mix that are available from any decent garden centre and that should help your plant.
Apply it to the roots, do not rely on foliar feeding ever!
The appearance of iron deficiency is similar to magnesium deficiency. Darkness starting from the inner part and lighter outer parts indicate iron deficiency.
Some of the other micros can mimic Mg deficiency or look similar to it.

the product your useing in the feeding regime. Meigs Sul-Cal-Mag, does it list what version of the S Ca and Mg it is providing?
Given you are feeding it this regularly it should not have any issues with Mg. Unless it is in a form unavailable to the plant like Magnesium oxide.
I am guessing it is calcium nitrate or citrate and the S and Mg are in epsolm salt form but they could also be in nitrates or citrate or just sulphate. Hopefully the package give you a breakdown.
It also looks like in week3 their was a top dressing done but I don't see this in the notes or the nutrient profile on the diary. Are you fully mixing it into the top layer? What are you feeding these plants outside of CaMg and RHIZOTONIC? They 100% need other macros and micros. just curious how you are providing them. Might be part of the problem. Might not be.

So I've figured out it wasn't a mag deficiency. It was burn. Switching from using 707 to lush by roots organic I didn't take in the consideration of how much of a difference the two were .
Another note. JESUS the one royal gorilla is massive. I am trying to train it down but she's growing fast and big. And ironic as it is . She the one with the worst burn. So gunna cut back on the sul cal mag for two weeks. . might not give any nutes till flower ..
Defoiled then flipped em.
I realized using LUSH living soil from organic roots I should not feed anything till later. . I've been fighting burns for a couple weeks. Dialing in a 4x8 tent is harder than dialing in a 4x4. I been giving just PhD water. And the new growth is looking good.
It's been 6 days since flipped. Had to give some extra time in veg cuz of the HST and topping they've received in their life. Lol.
Since I've burned them on accident I'm not giving them food for a couple weeks per ppms . Just good ol PhD H20.
Been trying to get the damn humidity under control at night but the dehuey I have does not turn on and off when I want it to. Using a smart plug does not turn it back on after I turn the power on. I'm thinking I need to get a new dehuey or get more exhaust fans. ...
The LUSH soil is providing plenty of nutrients. Some of the girls have remnants of the burn. I'll get em taken care of in two weeks. When I do the last small defol.

So pros and cons. Pros. It's short. Which is awesome and what I was going for. Stem smell is strong. And it handled my Nute burn and topping like a champ. So I deem him worth of his seed. ( His pollen ) 😂.
I'm working on where I want him to go. I don't want him to go into the 4*4. Cuz I'm starting my next grow in there.
I bought a 3*3*72 but I'm realizing I don't need that big of a space for one plant. ( Cus the 3*3 is still in its box I didn't want to put it together for just one plant.).
And I need to get all the right equipment for the 3x3 still. But that's for another diary lol
So the tall royal gorilla( second from the left in the back. that, to me , looks like it has horrible genetics or it just couldn't handle the stress of topping and the burn. It's still gunna produce well just. Scrawny.
My critical thunder from msnl is shorttttttt love it for an Afghan cross. And the most green. And full.

I removed the, now clear , male from the tent and I did something...... Well white trash ( no pun intended) . In my eyes. But in a ingenuity kind of way.
I got a cheap ass rolling trashcan meant for outdoors. Like 20$. I already had an extra. So I put the male in it and it fit perfectly. Cut off everything from the plant except the top of the two main stalks. It fits perfectly. I put a old light I used to use for seedlings in the top. And threw a light blanket over it. . I have it on the other side of the house. . Check the video. It's actually kinda cool 😂
Also feeding their flowering nutes next week. In SMALL amounts. I did add bud honey. Which does the same as just good molasses but better. This soil has a lot of micros and macros that'll love it.
But the rest of the girls are going fine and I'll be starting a new diary for be on the look out 😎
Male is in flower. I chopped it all off except the top of two main stalks. Been in flower for two weeks. I have it now isolated. How much longer till I get pollen. On average. And will it be viable to use right away on the current girls I got in flower now ?
The flowers will open by themselves and drop pollen.
Pollen can be used as soon as it drops.
You can also, after the first few flowers open, cut the stalks off, hang them upside down in a paper bag and collect pollen that way.
After being cut off, the male flowers will "after ripen" and open and drop pollen once mature enough after harvest.
This method makes containing the pollen extra simple..........wait 4-5 days after placing them in the bag, then open the bag carefully and there should be a pile of pollen at the bottom of the bag.
Apply the pollen with a small paint brush or small, very fine make up brush..........do not use Q-tips, the pollen will stick to them and not transfer to the female flowers.
If you only get a small amount of pollen, it can be mixed with fine flour at up to 80% flour and 20% pollen and you will still get 100% fertilization.
I have been doing this for many years now and it works perfectly.
Pollinate the freshest, newest female calyxes with the whitest and juiciest pistils only, at the base of the buds....... it will take 4-6 weeks for the seeds to fully mature.
You will know the seeds are mature once the calyx dries up, splits open and then you will be able to see a shiny dark brown seed inside the calyx.
Waiting patiently for the seeds may seem difficult, the flowers will be well over ripe and generally unsmokable, but seed production only happens this way.
All growing nicely. Had no updates week 11 and 12. Leaves are starting to change and random leaves are dying as they get closer to the end.
My skunk project finally gave some pollen so I added my pollen collection method, so next week I should be pollinating
First off the monster bloom by growtek is AMAZING. BEST FLOWERING NUTE IVE EVER TRIED.
Massive change in a week.
My bx ibl skunk project male started to get some mildew cuz I didn't have airflow into the container smh. Lesson learned. I'll just set up a separate tent for my males like I usually do. I've never had a plant get any kind of mold so I'm genuinely mad. But I tore off and cleaned it and put the pollen sac filled tips in a container with holes. And I've collected enough pollen .
So I pollinated 2 critical thunders and royal gorilla,and the special queen. Harvest is soon but I will leave the buds I pollinated on the stalk till ready.
Once again love the monster bloom . This is actually at week 14 from germ so basically at the 3 month mark . Probably in a week or two I'll start my harvest
I've learned a lot during this grow. Surprisingly lol. Having an irrigation system for different strains at the same time is not ideal on the same irrigation system. I believe some plants needed more shit when others needed less. Which should have been obvious to me but this is my second time using irrigation and first was all same strains.
This grow has been challenging. But its still definitely a learning process.
Not done yet. Current battle in rh. But I think I got it good
I have harvested them all. When it was said and done I had one male , my skunkv3, and 8 females

2 special queen.
Cherry pie didn't pop and the lcg didn't pop.
The critical thunder autos are my winners🏆. Msnl has beaten RQS in this go about.
The royal gorilla was inconsistent. Branches didn't grow thick. At all lol never seen branches so little. And it started to yellow That was one. The other grew pretty damn well but much smaller nugs ..
The special queens are nice . Grew well and took a beating . I topped them the most cuz they seemed to be handling it well. And they grew uniform. The only reason they are not my favorite this grow is because the smell coming off them is not as strong as the smell coming off the critical thunders. Which is lemony AF
But overall I would grow them all again. And I did breed my skunk male with them all. Just a branch pollination.
So be on the look out because I will be doing more diaries on the offsprings when I finish getting my house moved around and my fourth tent up.
