1. This is another free seed from Humboldt Seeds. I really liked their Bubba's Gift, and I've seen some fine examples of this strain on the GRow Diaries. I'm looking forward to growing my 1st full on Sativa. Thanks again! 2. I'll be mainling this grow. I'd like to keep her as short as possible. 3. I'll be using Advanced Nutrients this grow. I had good luck with this line on my first grow. Since I had leftovers I figured it would be better not to let it go to waste. Nutrients are expensive. 4. Since this is my winter grow, I'm doing numerous things to combat the cold. I put a little heater in front of my oscillating fan. It is on the same timer as the lights. I've also insulated the grow space, and changed the light cycle so the lights are on at night.

1. BD was transplanted on Wednesday. She was watered with filtered water and fed half strength Sensei Grow A+B, and full strength Recharge. Recharge made a boastful claim. I provided the pictures for you to compare. I like a company who believes in their product! 2. I'm having some issues with wavy leaves. I provided a few pictures. I thought it could be temperature related, but i can't find anything to help me so far. BD is growing at the same rate as the other plants in the tent, so its not affecting growth. I just expect the leaves to be sturdier and less paper-thin. It concerns me.

1. Blue Dream is a strong plant. Structure of the plant is very sturdy. Leaves are sturdy and slender. 2. AN nutes are being given at 3/4 strength every 3 days in 2l Filtered Water. After 2 feedings I use 2l Filtered Water and Recharge. I will start full strength feedings after mainlining this weekend. 3. I will mainline this plant over the weekend. I'll top it at the third node and trim off the rest of the growth. However, I am going to scale back my mainlining. I will keep node 1 after topping, but prune node 2 and top at node 3. This plant is too vigorous and the pot is too small to take the mainlining out to 5 nodes. Also, this will shorten the veg time a little bit.

1. BD was topped and manifolded last Saturday. I provided before and after photos. There has been a lot of growth in a week. 2. BD has just finished 2nd node and is working on 3rd. I'll top at 3rd node. I'll concentrate on spreading out the bud sites then flip. 3. BD will get a small haircut tomorrow. I will be taking off the main fan leaf. I am going to try to let more of her foliage remain. In the past I've really kept my plants trimmed. I'd like to see if there are any benefits to keeping a few more leaves to act as food factories. 4. Finally, I am going to hold off on going to full strength nutrients. I will keep the current feedings at 75% until the plants are a little older. I might reduce it to 50%. I'll have to keep an eye on everything.

1. Its been a cold week in the winter grow. I've been able to keep the temps in the low 80s when the lights are on and around 72 during night cycle, but we had a wicked snow storm, and the temps have been low all week. Consequently she hasn't been drinking as much. Currently I'm barely watering twice a week. I'm still applying the same feeding schedule, but its just not as often. 2. Growth hasn't slowed down. Blue Dream has been topped at the 3rd node. 3. I'm training nodes 1 and 2 towards the rims of the pots. I'll also be training the 4 new tops the same way. 4. I will prune/defoliate when the bud sites reach the 3rd node. That should give them plenty of time to mature before flowering. 5. I'm undecided about pruning node 2. It will be a difference between 12 and 8 budsites. I'm thinking of keeping them because I topped at the 3rd node instead of 4th or 5th. I ran out of space and topped earlier. I have time before I have to decide. It will take at least a week for all of the budsites to grow out to 3 nodes. Then I can look at the space.

1. This girl is a strong, strong plant. No matter what I do, she bounces back faster and bigger than all of her tent mates! 2. BD has currently reached my grow goal. I wanted to train out the two tops to 3 nodes then top. My goal was to then train out all growth to 3 nodes. Finally, I will prune defoliate to the 3rd node, allow the plant to recover, then flip to flower. 3. BD has reached that goal. I have pruned all branches to the 2nd node. I want to keep training her outward as much as possible. I don't have much room though.

1. Sorry posting is a bit late this week. BD was put into flower mode this week. Lights went off on Thursday at 1PM and came back on at 7PM on Friday. She is now on a 12/12 light schedule. 2. I stopped any LST after my final defoliation/pruning session prior to flipping. BD has grown several inches since then. I expect at least 12 inches during the stretch. 3. BD is still receiving full strength growth nutes or Recharge every 3 days in 2l of water. I'll switch to flowering nutes when I see true flowers forming.

1. There has been a bit of a stretch this week. She has grown about 4 inches I'd say. She is showing pre-flowering pistils, and I'm thinking I'll see buds within the week. 2. BD has barely been drinking since the transition. Normally she was being fed/watered 2l every 3 days. This time it took a week between waterings. I'm hoping it will pick up once she is fully flowering. 3. I'm still using the veg, feeding regimen. I'll switch to flowering nutes once I see the buds emerge.

1. Finally we have buddage! It took about 2 weeks for BD to make the switch. Hopefully, growth will pick up now that transition is over. There has been some stretch, but I expect more. 2. This was the last week for veg. nutes. I'll do a Recharge Feeding then switch over to flowering nutes for the next round of feedings. 3. Currently BD is only taking water every 5 days.

1. BD is developing nicely. Stretch is pretty much over. Buds are really starting to form at the top of the canopy. 2. I switched over to bloom nutes at 50% strength. I'll do a round of feedings at 50% then kick it up to 100% for the next round. This plant is very tough. Feeding is not an issue. However, I won't exceed to the recommended dosages. I'm a chicken.

1. All is well in dreamland. Buds are looking nice. 2. BD is more thirstly lately. Part of it is the temperature in the grow tent. I turned the heater back on. The nighttime temps. were getting a little low. Since then the whole tent has gone back to needing water every 3-4 days. 3. BD is getting full strength Bloom, Bud Candy, and Big Bud. No idea how long I will keep this feeding schedule. Another 7 weeks will give me a 10 week flowering.

1. BD is cruising right along. Budstalks are filling up nicely. This is a very hardy strain. I'm glad I have a bunch of these seeds. 2. BD is receiving full strength flowering nutes. 3. Watering has been a bit of a challenge. The tent is pretty full so I have to take plants out. As they get older, this becomes more difficult. Secondly, they have been fluctuating a lot in terms of how often they need water. I can go 6 days sometimes. Other waterings are every 3 days. I need to get on top of that before it becomes a problem.

1. BD is cruising right along. Pistils are eerily white. It almost glows! 2. BD is about half way through flowering. I will stop using Recharge this week. I switched out Demeter's Destiny for Sensei Cal-Mag Xtra. The AN product has Mag, Iron, and other micro-nutrients that will come in handy. 3. The Cal-Mag supplement appears to really drop the pH. I've had to add pH up to my feedings. I'll keep doing pH and PPM until I get the hang of this new situation. I'll probably only feed Cal-Mag once a week anyway.

1. BD is cruising along, nestled amongst the taller Sativa branches. She is difficult to photograph. 2. I've stopped using Recharge. Since the grow is winding down, I need to reduce the growth nutes, and Recharge has a lot of growth stimulators. I have replaced it with Sensei Cal-Mag Xtra to help finish out the bud formation. 3. I have 1 more week of mid-flower nutes to give. Then I will replace Big Bud with Overdrive, and reduce Sensei Bloom and Bud Candy to 75% strength. I'll do this for 1 feeding rotation then reduce Bloom and Bud Candy to 50% for the final rotation. Then I will only add Flawless Finish and Flush at the end. I'm thinking 3-4 weeks before harvest.

1. She is finishing up nicely. It's difficult to see the bud stalks because the tent is so crowded. I tried to get a shot of the canopy to show the buds. 2. I'm on the last phase of feeding. I'll replace Big Bud with Overdrive and reduce Sensei Bloom to 50%. 3. I'm looking at a harvest time of about 3 weeks. It may be earlier. I'm a little concerned about the white pistils. At first I thought it was light bleaching so I moved the lights up....twice! Now I'm not so sure.

She will spend 3 more days in the tent, drying out and finishing up then I'll put her in a dark room for 3 days prior to harvest. 3. It was very difficult pulling this girl out of the tent. She had woven her branches into the other plants. There were tons of buds that I thought were other plants!

What a nice strain this was to grow! She was strong throughout! Bud development was quick and buds were pretty dense. Aroma is very candy-like. Flavor and also sweet even though its brand new. It's a bit stony, but not a lot. I'm looking forward to the CBD aspect of these buds.

I really liked growing this strain. This will be the 2nd strain I've grown from Humboldt. They have some solid genetics. This strain was super hardy. I tortured this poor plant with topping, mainlining, and severe LST. She never showed any ill effects, or even a slow down in growth. The next time I grow this strain I will give her less competition in the grow tent. I think this strain and another medium sized photo would be perfect in the 3x3. I will also plan my supports prior to the grow. The budstalks were pretty long, and supporting the buds became a real problem. I think I might've lost 1 of the main bud stalks due to breakage.

Hey Quexos, looking forward to your mainlining...are you trying the nugbucket of nebula technique? They say Nebula is 2weeks shorter in veg. I Will defenitly try that next grow. Happy growing
Quexos
Quexoscommented6 years ago
@IndeKast, Since I wasn't sure I was going to be able to keep my grow tent temps. up this winter. I decided to go with free seeds from herb I've bought. The bad side is that some will be males. The good side is I'll have a of plants to experiment on before flipping! Nebula's tutorial gave me the idea of keeping alternate nodes instead of pruning them all to the 5th.
IndeKast
IndeKastcommented6 years ago
@Quexos, interesting...so many ways...so much to read... I think it's a good Idea to keep the 2nd and 3th node. 👍🏼 I Will try that next time. Good you have much plants so you can experiment... I also like the other techniques as well.
Quexos
Quexoscommented6 years ago
@IndeKast, I looked up the different techniques. I will be doing a variation on Nebula's technique. Once I top the plant I will keep the 1st, 3rd, and 5th node. That will give me 6 bud sites on each side. I thought of keeping 1, 3, and 5, but not topping so I end up with 7 budsites on each side. I'll have to see how the plants are growing. Since I have a lot of plants, I might do it a little differently to a few plants to experiment.

@ArucambaAutoflowers297, its a 10/10 split. A lot of my friends swear by these THC/CBD blends. That's all they buy from the dispensaries. I'm sure it would help for my aches and pains, but It's just not as much fun to watch old monster movies.

Good luck, I'm thinking about growing this soon. It looks like you got it fixed but I think that the curling you saw in your leaves on week 2 was from the soil being too hot.
Quexos
Quexoscommented6 years ago
@SJgarden, The heater is radiant only. I place it next to the fan to disperse the heat. I have the heater on a stand, but the tower fan on the floor. I am worried that the leaves might be suffering because the fan blows that radiant heat right on them. It doesn't affect all 3 plants closest to the heater though. I rotate my plants every other day to keep them all happy. Once I flip the grow to flower, I'll lose half of the plants and that won't be as much of a problem. Thanks for the input. I'll recheck my heat dispersion. Its nice to have another set of eyes when there is something amiss.
SJgarden
SJgardencommented6 years ago
@Quexos, What I meant by the soil could have been too hot was that the temperature was too high. I read that you were placing a heater near your fan, that's what made me think this.
Quexos
Quexoscommented6 years ago
@SJgarden, Thanks! Great observation. I haven't used Fox Farms soil in a few grows. I had forgotten how "hot" it was in the beginning. I used Batch 64 prior to this. It was much more neutral. I'll have to keep an eye out for that curling again. I notice it here and there in the garden. It seems to come and go. There hasn't been any noticeable damage, or changes in growth, so I've just been watching it. I might need to adjust my feedings.

growdoctordc
growdoctordccommented6 years ago
@Butrus, Flavor begins with great soil. Better yield can be achieved soil less, but you can’t fake flavor. As for speed to harvest, I submit if you take two identical clones, veg one significantly longer than the other, but flower them the same amount of time, you will have a noticeably more complex high in the more mature plant. That’s been my anecdotal experience anyway - haven’t attempted to prove it clinically. She’s an odd plant with more going on than we yet understand
Butrus
Butruscommented6 years ago
@Quexos, I guess its some sort of modern trend of hunt for fastest/best possible yield. While it is not necessarily a bad thing, I believe people will find their way back to natural soil eventually :) Happy growing!

@TheBudWhisperer, Humboldt Seeds has some solid genetics. I ran their Bubba's Gift in the fall. I was really happy. This one surprised me. In veg she was just like any other plant, but in flower she matured hard and fast! I might've let her go a little too long.
