1. BD was topped and manifolded last Saturday. I provided before and after photos. There has been a lot of growth in a week.
2. BD has just finished 2nd node and is working on 3rd. I'll top at 3rd node. I'll concentrate on spreading out the bud sites then flip.
3. BD will get a small haircut tomorrow. I will be taking off the main fan leaf. I am going to try to let more of her foliage remain. In the past I've really kept my plants trimmed. I'd like to see if there are any benefits to keeping a few more leaves to act as food factories.
4. Finally, I am going to hold off on going to full strength nutrients. I will keep the current feedings at 75% until the plants are a little older. I might reduce it to 50%. I'll have to keep an eye on everything.
Hey Quexos, looking forward to your mainlining...are you trying the nugbucket of nebula technique? They say Nebula is 2weeks shorter in veg. I Will defenitly try that next grow. Happy growing
@IndeKast, Since I wasn't sure I was going to be able to keep my grow tent temps. up this winter. I decided to go with free seeds from herb I've bought. The bad side is that some will be males. The good side is I'll have a of plants to experiment on before flipping!
Nebula's tutorial gave me the idea of keeping alternate nodes instead of pruning them all to the 5th.
@Quexos, interesting...so many ways...so much to read... I think it's a good Idea to keep the 2nd and 3th node. 👍🏼 I Will try that next time. Good you have much plants so you can experiment... I also like the other techniques as well.
@IndeKast, I looked up the different techniques. I will be doing a variation on Nebula's technique. Once I top the plant I will keep the 1st, 3rd, and 5th node. That will give me 6 bud sites on each side. I thought of keeping 1, 3, and 5, but not topping so I end up with 7 budsites on each side. I'll have to see how the plants are growing. Since I have a lot of plants, I might do it a little differently to a few plants to experiment.
Bro i think shell turn into a monster once you flip her!! Shes looking beautiful so far. When ill be growing photos in my new tent im planning on growing some cbd autos in the current tent😁 RQS recently brought out a new cbd auto
@ArucambaAutoflowers297, its a 10/10 split. A lot of my friends swear by these THC/CBD blends. That's all they buy from the dispensaries. I'm sure it would help for my aches and pains, but It's just not as much fun to watch old monster movies.
@Quexos, sweet man, looks like its well deserved 💪 whats the thc percentage on her? I think a 2/1 cbd to thc ratio could be a great smoke. Candies sounds like a great plan though hahah
Good luck, I'm thinking about growing this soon. It looks like you got it fixed but I think that the curling you saw in your leaves on week 2 was from the soil being too hot.
@SJgarden, The heater is radiant only. I place it next to the fan to disperse the heat. I have the heater on a stand, but the tower fan on the floor.
I am worried that the leaves might be suffering because the fan blows that radiant heat right on them. It doesn't affect all 3 plants closest to the heater though. I rotate my plants every other day to keep them all happy. Once I flip the grow to flower, I'll lose half of the plants and that won't be as much of a problem.
Thanks for the input. I'll recheck my heat dispersion. Its nice to have another set of eyes when there is something amiss.
@Quexos, What I meant by the soil could have been too hot was that the temperature was too high. I read that you were placing a heater near your fan, that's what made me think this.
@SJgarden, Thanks! Great observation. I haven't used Fox Farms soil in a few grows. I had forgotten how "hot" it was in the beginning. I used Batch 64 prior to this. It was much more neutral. I'll have to keep an eye out for that curling again. I notice it here and there in the garden. It seems to come and go. There hasn't been any noticeable damage, or changes in growth, so I've just been watching it. I might need to adjust my feedings.
@Butrus,
Flavor begins with great soil. Better yield can be achieved soil less, but you can’t fake flavor.
As for speed to harvest, I submit if you take two identical clones, veg one significantly longer than the other, but flower them the same amount of time, you will have a noticeably more complex high in the more mature plant. That’s been my anecdotal experience anyway - haven’t attempted to prove it clinically. She’s an odd plant with more going on than we yet understand
@Quexos, I guess its some sort of modern trend of hunt for fastest/best possible yield. While it is not necessarily a bad thing, I believe people will find their way back to natural soil eventually :) Happy growing!
I’ve got 707 and a thc blue federal from these guys up next for the summer indoor grow👍 - I can’t believe I kissed this in your diary list and will def. be catching up on the reading l😉👍👊😎
@TheBudWhisperer, Humboldt Seeds has some solid genetics. I ran their Bubba's Gift in the fall. I was really happy. This one surprised me. In veg she was just like any other plant, but in flower she matured hard and fast! I might've let her go a little too long.
@GreenHouseLab, Thanks! She is doing great, but I think I can do a better job. She is in a crowded tent so she doesn't get the attention she deserves. I'll grow this strain again in the future and make her the star of the grow tent.
@Johnnyronco, Thanks! The tent is really getting crowded. I really have nowhere to train them. I'll need to flip the tent to flower really soon so the males will show their ugly heads! If none are males, flowering is going to be a mess.
