Playse The seed took quite a while to develop a root. I had it in the "Papertowel" method for 3 days, then placed it in a glass of water for a few hours, and afterwards put it back between two small plates with wet paper. It took 4 days before I could plant it. 2 days later, it saw the light of day. This is from one of the two panels of the 240 Watt Kingbrite LED lamp. Initially set to a PPFD value of 150-200, I've now increased it to 600 after a week to see how it reacts. Most autoflowers look bigger after a week, and this one started to stretch quite a bit, so I'm still experimenting with the light. This is my first grow with the Green House Feeding organic fertilizers. I used a Coco + Perlite mix and halved the fertilizer recommendations. Green House Feeding recommends 3 gr/Liter of medium BioGrow for 8 weeks of growth. BioBloom is supposed to be mixed into the soil just before flowering. I mixed both types with 1.5 gr/Liter into the medium from the start, as Barney's Farm indicates the cycle for the Runtz Auto is about 70 days. I'm expecting around 20 days of growth phase followed by flowering time. Whether that was the right decision will show in time. I just hope that the nutrients release slowly and are available at the right time without over-fertilizing. For watering, I'm using a 12V pump with 7 l/min. Behind it, there's a Y-valve installed to control the amounts. I'm also experimenting a bit here. Coco is not supposed to dry out. However, watering twice a day in this early phase doesn't feel right either. The water is constantly in motion and is adjusted to pH 5.8 before watering. There’s still potential for optimization in the watering, as the water doesn't distribute evenly throughout the pot. I will probably rely on the other options from Floraflex for that. For now, it’s sufficient. Let's see how it develops. Thanks for your attention.

Playse I hung the lamp higher now because I read that COB LED panels shouldn't be too close to the plant. The lamp is set to 300 PPFD. I will gradually increase this as the next shoots come in. I have a feeling that it has gotten too much water. I will wait a few days before the next watering. But then I'll use the Green House Feeding Enhancer. Unfortunately, it's pretty hot in the apartment, so there were times when it reached 32°C in the tent. That's why I leave the tent open during the day. Today the USB clip fan arrived. This allowed the second fan to be mounted on one of the upper openings to help expel the warm air from the top of the tent.

Playse The plant looks quite healthy. I've now lowered it and trimmed the downward-facing shoots. In the meantime, it's getting water twice a day for 2 minutes to ensure enough flow. I've also treated it to the first watering with the enhancer.

Playse The last two weeks, she has picked up a bit of pace. She's not a big plant, which I attribute to several factors: - The seed took a long time to germinate; maybe it's just a weak plant - The messing around with the light at the beginning of the seedling/growth phase - Getting the automatic watering dialed in took longer All in all, she looks healthy and is apparently going into flowering now. The roots have broken through the felt at the bottom of the pot. The next pot will definitely be bigger.

Playse After noticing the beginning of a nitrogen deficiency, I started to supplement with the BioBizz fertilizers every 1-2 days. My idea of mixing half the manufacturer's recommendations for GreenHouse Grow and Bloom into the coco turned out to be a failure. Especially with an automatic watering system, it seems to me that the released nutrients are quickly washed out of the pot without giving the plant a chance to absorb them. It's possible that the fertilizers in the substrate are already depleted. I haven't done any top-dressing because I assumed the flowering fertilizer would be sufficient in quantity. In the meantime, it looks good again and seems to be starting the flowering stage healthy. Nevertheless, I will try the organic fertilizers again in the next run, but I will adjust the amounts. I don't want to mix a nutrient solution every day. Just topping up water, adjusting the pH, and adding anti-algae solutions… that way, you can even go away for a weekend. A small USB pump ensures that the run-off water is pumped into a 20-liter watering can. The remaining houseplants get that. All in all, a well-functioning system. I'm very satisfied with it.

Playse It's shooting up even more. There's not much else to say about the plant itself right now. I've switched the watering from 4 individual drip hoses to a watering ring with 2 times 1/4" hoses. This allows the water to distribute better. The individual hoses kept twisting around.

Playse Last week I "defoliated" her, meaning I removed the shadow-casting leaves and popcorn buds. Whether or not to do this with autoflowers is a matter of debate. In my opinion, she handled it well. Only the purple stems of the leaves raise questions: nitrogen deficiency or just due to the phenotype? I fertilize irregularly with BioBizz nutrients and will see how the coming weeks go.

Playse Tag 70. She didn't quite make it in the given time. I'm going to give her another week of daily BioBizz feeding and then I'll flush. In the end, the microscope will decide. Maybe the buds will blush a bit more. I think that the dosage of the GreenHouse Feeding nutrients according to the manufacturer's instructions would have worked in conjunction with the automatic watering. Then the Bloom nutrient would have been added later as a top dress feeding. I brought it into the substrate from the start and halved the amounts of both Grow and Bloom nutrients. I'll do that differently in the next grow. This plant here has recovered quite well from everything and hopefully will make it through to the end. Let's see what kind of yield she ultimately delivers.

Playse Autumn has arrived. According to Barney's Farm, she should have been done a while ago, but she's taken her time. Who knows what that's about? In the end, she looks really nice for the experiment with the nutrients and automatic watering. She's starting to turn the petals purple/red. I will harvest her at the latest by the weekend, wash her, and dry her "Low and Slow" in the cooler.
