BrutusGigantus Welcome to my grow diary!
In this diary, I will document the cultivation of medical and high-THC strains in a compact aeroponic system. My grow area measures only 60x60 cm, but with aeroponic technology, I aim to achieve optimal plant growth and a bountiful harvest. The goal is to maintain uniformity across the four genetics through training techniques, aiming for dense and long buds.
Week 1: Germination
First, I germinated all four seeds and planted them in a mixture of vermiculite and perlite. This method aims to protect the roots and ensure a smooth transition when transplanting into the system’s clay pebbles, while also avoiding waterlogging in the initial days. The seedlings are under 24-hour light, kept at 25°C with 75% humidity.
During the seedling phase, I am using up the remainder of my Advanced Nutrients fertilizer. I have set an EC value of 0.5 and a pH value of 5.8, which are monitored 24/7 to ensure optimal conditions. Once the plants are moved into the aeroponic system, I will switch to using Terra Aquatica TriPart nutrients.
Edit:
I germinated two additional seeds as a precaution, in case one doesn’t develop properly. It is very important for my project that all plants are approximately the same age. A difference of 7 days could create significant asymmetry in the tent by the end.
Strain infos:
ACDC
ACDC has proven to be a very interesting strain for me - a phenotype of my current favorite everyday strain, Cannatonic. With a negligible THC content of 1% and a very high CBD content, I use it to mix with strong and potent strains to mitigate the potential negative effects. I am curious to see if ACDC will provide a mild high when used on its own.
White Widow
As a good standard strain, I like to use White Widow to unwind and relax. I prefer an Indica-dominant cross, and the variety from RQS is the first 50:50 White Widow variant I’ve tried. I’ll report on whether the effects are different.
Pineapple Chunk
“Pack a #!@?*” is the motto for this strain. In one of my recent grows, this variety was incredibly strong, not just in terms of effect. My phenotype was a typical Indica with very dense and thick buds. Check out the cover picture above, and you’ll know what I’m talking about.
Blueberry
I received this strain as a promo seed from a friend. Normally, I’m not very convinced by random strains and prefer to fill my limited space with genetics that I know and like. So this is a first, and I’m curious to see how it performs.

BrutusGigantus Glad to have you back! I’ve made some progress, and so far, everything has gone smoothly. All the seeds have developed, and I find the differences in growth and speed absolutely fascinating!
I’ve now managed to remove the seedlings from the perlite mixture and transplant them into net pots. They are growing in a spongy, soil-free substrate that is buffered, making it ideal in terms of pH and EC levels. I’ve placed the pots back into the perlite mixture, burying them halfway to allow the first longer roots to develop, which are crucial for growth in the aeroponic system. They should be ready to move into the system in about 7 days. In the meantime, I still need a timer that can switch on and off every 3 minutes. If anyone can recommend a reliable timer, please let me know in the comments.
The first few weeks always feel like an eternity. Growth is slow, and it’s mostly the roots that are doing the growing. Does anyone else feel the same way?
In 4 weeks, it’ll be the exact opposite.
Not enough pictures or have specific requests? Let me know! :)
