8/12/24 - One of each bean put into its own damp paper towel, then into a ziplock bag. In my nightstand with the heater on in our room around 81F. Will check in 48-72 hours for tap roots then will into starter pots.
8/15/24 - Hella Jelly and BBM popped and planted into FFOF Soil with added perlite and mycorrhiza. Sprayed top of soil with 6.0 pH'd water with some recharge. Pineapple Upside Down Cake hasn't popped yet. Put the bean in a glass of pH'd water and will leave it for two days. Decided to throw the Pineapple Upside Down Cake seed into the starter pot anyway after a couple hours in the water.
8/16/24 - Hella Jelly above soil. Each pot given about 40-50 ml of ph'd recharge water to keep the top soil moist. Also starting another Pineapple Upside Down Cake using the paper towel method I've always used. The first seed is still in the pot to see if it ends up sprouting, otherwise I'll be using the one starting germination today. If it doesn't pop, it wasn't meant to be.
8/22/24 - Seems like Pineapple Upside Down Cake isn't gonna be happening this grow as both seeds seem to be duds, I have two more I can try another time. Hella Jelly and BBM both looking excellent for their early days.
8/23/2024 - Pineapple Upside Down Cake has officially been removed from this grow, as I tried to pop two seeds, and both failed. I'm sure others have had better chances with their own beans but I'm happy with two plants, it's what I am used to anyway. Hella Jelly about a week ahead of the Blueberry Muffin, both being watered lightly whenever the soil feels dry.
8/28/24 - Haven't given water in a couple days, soil was extra dry. Watered (6.2 pH) more than normal this session as they seem to be growing more / drying quicker.
8/30/24 - BBM has a cool "duck-foot" mutation looking leaf. Hella Jelly growing like crazy.
9/4/24 - Adding in the first real dose of nutes, just a tiny amount of MegaCrop + Recharge for this watering. Reapplying DE to top soil after watering.
9/7/24 - watered at 6.2ph, looking like they need water every 2-3 days at this point. Looking to transplant in the next couple of weeks
9/10/24 - watered at 6.4ph. Thinking I'm gonna transplant soon into 5 gals, then top, then start training for main line.
9/12/24 - watered at 6.2pH with 1 TBSP Epsom salt for Magnesium boost and .5 TSP recharge.. I am seeing early to mid stages of Mag Def. Will be repotting to 5 gallons this weekend.
9/15/24 - Transplanted the girls into their final 5 gallon homes. Used Great White Mycorrhizae for the roots before transplanting. Watered with 6.4 pH + 1 TSP Epsom Salt + 1 TSP Recharge. 1.1 EC. Should pop up in a day or two, then will be topping. Hopefully I can go a bit longer before having to water again.
9/17/24 - They are looking pretty rough at this point. Watered fully with 6.4 pH water + .5 TSP Epsom Salt. Hopefully they stop yellowing so much with the added nutrients in the soil. Gonna let them go for at least a week before topping and starting the mainline.
9/19/24 - HJ is finally looking like its perking up again after transplanting. Hopefully by next week the Magnesium deficiency gets fixed by the new soil. I'll probably mix in some additional Mega Crop.
9/20/24 - Still not ready for any water, looks like they are finally starting to bounce back. Should be able to start training soon :)
9/23/24 - Both plants finally recovered from transplanting. Gonna top tomorrow and start LST for main-lining.
9/24/24 - Both plants topped and stripped of the yellowing / dying leaves. Watered 6.6pH @ .85 EC.
10/7/24 - watered both plants with 6.5 pH recharge water. Did some heavy LST/HST for main-lining along with stripping the lower leaves. Now its just getting the right canopy shape I am looking for, eventually trellising and making sure they stay healthy.
10/11/24 - Well I've learned that the Hella Jelly plant is much MUCH harder to train without breaks. It's got like 4-5 small cracks and 1 massive one on the right side. BBM is taking to the mainlining beautifully. Will try to train BBM into a nice circle canopy while HJ recovers.
10/13/24 - Blue Berry Muffin is loving life and is a picture perfect mainline. Hella Jelly on the other hand... DOES NOT LIKE BEING TRAINED, at least the phenotype I popped. The stems are incredibly stiff, even trying to super crop snaps the stems. Unbelievably, the HJ plant has been snapped all over and is recovering just fine. Both plants given 4-6 scoops of top soil (Not yet pictured) and watered in at 6.4pH + .5 TSP recharge/gal.
10/16/24 - Well, BBM still thriving. Hella Jelly still hating being trained. I've decided I'm just gonna let the HJ grow as is and no longer attempt to train for Main Line. I will do generic LST to ideally fill out tent, but will be looking for fill out the BBM side if nothing else.
10/26/24 - Watered both plants today with MEGACROP and Recharge water. BBM is ready for flowering ASAP, just gonna let Hella Jelly grow a little more before flipping. It really stunted with how much damage it took through training. Seems to be recovering nicely now.
11/1/24 - Yesterday I did another heavy LST and supercropping. Today I got the trellis net setup and watered them both at 6.6 pH with 1.5 TSP MegaCrop per gal. Gonna let them recover for a week or two and then flip to 12/12 to start flowering.
11/5/24 - Did a large watering slowly with my pump. pH 6.5 input with 1 tsp Mega Crop/Gal, .5 tsp Recharge/Gal. Girls are looking fabulous and a lush healthy green heading into flower soon. BBM filling out the tent amazingly, Hella Jelly recovered from all that abuse pretty well too. Did a good amount of bending and weaving thru the trellis today too. Thinking about flipping Friday.
11/9/24 - Excited to have flipped them last night. Seems like they enjoyed their first day of 12/12. I will be watering probably closer to Monday. Seems like they really enjoyed that slow watering.
11/12/24 - Raised light up to 22" above canopy to allow for stretch, cranked the lights to about 75% or so pushing around 550-650 PPFD. Watering both girls today, different mixes:
BBM (Intentionally have been overfeeding due to its light green color)
Input: 6.4 pH - 1.5 EC
Output: 6.5 pH - 3.5 EC
HJ (Intentionally have been underfeeding nutes due to its dark green color)
Input: 6.6 pH - 0.52 EC
Output: INCONCLUSIVE
Both plants given .5 TSP/Gal Recharge, BBM given 2 TSP MegaCrop, HJ given .5 TSP
11/17/24 - Added in plant raisers to catch runoff easier, watering tomorrow. Day 9 flowering, stretch coming in nicely. BBM is gonna be a big girl.
11/18/24 - Got really good runoff measurements now that I have the raisers in place. Day 10 flowering, BBM is stretching like crazy, HJ is just starting to stretch, though it shouldn't get too large.
BBM Input: 6.5pH @ 1.0 EC
Output: 6.7pH @ 4.4 EC
BBM Summary: Soil is quite hot. I will be feeding only water for the next watering or two at least. Then probably switching to bloom nutes.
HJ Input: 6.9pH @ 1.1 EC
Output: 7.1pH @ 2.7 EC
HJ Summary: Soil is also a touch hot, pH also needs to come down a bit in this. will also get plain water with lower pH.
11/23/24 - Day 15 flower, both plants looking pretty good. Did a final defoliation today after watering, details below. I will be adding in a second trellis net sometime in the next week or so to help support the BBM stems mostly.
BBM Input: 6.3 pH @ 0.31 EC + .5 TSP RECHARGE
BBM Output: 6.9 pH @ 2.1 EC
HJ Input: 6.3 pH @ 0.30 EC + .5 TSP RECHARGE
HJ Output: 7.1 pH @ 2.2 EC
Both soils are still a bit hot but have stabled themselves out. I will be lowering the pH even still a bit more, as I suspect BBM is suffering from a slight lock out. Next watering will likely be one more bath of plain pH'd water with recharge, then I will likely feed only bloom nutes going forward.
11/28/24 - day 20F, input: 6.1 pH @ 1.3 EC, output: 6.6 pH @ 2.8 EC. Watered with about 10ml bloom nutes per gal.
12/1/24 - The smells in this tent are starting to get wild. The Hella Jelly(left) is so fruity and intensifies every day. Totally as advertised thus far. Blueberry Muffin(right) smells are slowly starting to develop as well, much fatter looking buds thus far too on BBM. I plan on watering heavily with just a little bit of bloom nutes, probably 2.5-5ml per gal. The last measurement looked like my pH was better for BBM but the soil was still hot. pH for HJ was still high from what my readings were saying and soil was just as hot. Based on looks alone, BBM looks hungry still for some N so I am going to possibly add in some MEGACROP with that feeding.
12/2/24 - Every time I open this tent I am hit with a mix of stank and fruit and I love it. It's only gonna get more intense with the coming weeks. Watered both plants today about 1 gal each, 5ml Bloom + .5 tsp RECHARGE. Soil much hotter in BBM than in HJ. next watering will be plain pH'd water for BBM around 6.5 pH. next watering for HJ should be around 6.0-6.2 pH and should also be plain pH'd water.
HJ (Left plant) Input: 6.3 pH @ 0.72 EC
HJ (Left plant) Output: 7.0 pH @ 2.7 EC
BBM (Right plant) Input: 6.2 pH @ 0.78 EC
BBM (Right plant) Output: 6.6 pH @ 4.1 EC
12/8/24 - Watered with plain pH'd water and 1 TSP recharge. I guess the soil is still pretty hot but the pH seems to be slowly lowering. A bit of fade coming in on the BBM, should have enough green to make it to week 9 or so.
BBM Input: 6.3 pH @ 0.31 EC + 1 TSP RECHARGE
BBM Output: 6.7 pH @ 4.2 EC
HJ Input: 6.1 pH @ 0.31 EC + 1 TSP RECHARGE
HJ Output: 7.0 pH @ 3.9 EC
12/13/24 - Did a bit of a plain water flush to get the EC back in range. we think maybe the soil is depleted, so going forward I am going to add a shit ton of RECHARGE to my waterings and very little bloom nutes.
1st flush (1.5 gal)
BBM Input: 6.3 pH @ 0.30 EC
BBM Output: 7.0 pH @ 2.7 EC
HJ Input: 6.3 pH @ 0.30 EC
HJ Output: 7.2 pH @ 2.3 EC
2nd flush (1 additional gal)
BBM Input: 6.3 pH @ 0.30 EC
BBM Output: 7.0 pH @ 1.4 EC
HJ Input: 6.3 pH @ 0.29 EC
HJ Output: 7.1 pH @ 1.9 EC
12/15/24 - Was noticing a bit more yellowing in BBM than I'd like to see so I fed today, a little earlier than I normally would've but I had to get some nutes in the soil.
Watering process:
Plain water from tap reads 7.6 pH @ 0.31 EC
add 1 tsp MEGACROP (0.32 EC)
add 10 ml Bloom (0.57 EC)
pH reads 6.6, add in pH down
down to 6.2-6.3 pH
add in 1 TSP RECHARGE
BBM Input: 6.5 pH @ 1.2 EC
BBM Output: 6.8 pH @ 2.4 EC
HJ no MEGACROP, only 8.5 ml Bloom.
HJ Input: 6.3 pH @ 1.0 EC
HJ Output: 7.1 pH @ 3.6 EC
12/20/24 - My grow bro J came by to verify my watering techniques, thankfully I'm doing everything correctly, just need to add a bit more volume to my initial waterings to get more runoff.
BBM Input: 6.3 pH @ 1.6-1.8 EC
BBM Output: 6.8 pH @ 3.5 EC
HJ Input: 6.1 pH @ 1.6 EC
HJ Output: 6.9 pH @ 2.8 EC
12/26/24 - BBM is ready for harvest based on my trichome pictures I took a few days ago. Today is day 48 Flower and I watered with just some bloom nutes and recharge. I'll probably take more trich pics tomorrow to check on HJ since it was still 50/50 on cloudy to clear.
BBM Input: 6.1 pH @ 1.4 EC
BBM Output: 6.6 pH @ 3.1 EC
HJ Input: 6.2 pH @ 1.4 EC
HJ Output: 7.0 pH @ 2.7 EC
1/1/25 - Happy new year! The plants are being chopped this Saturday, day 57. I will be doing my best to dry around 60/60 but it usually is hard to get down to 60 F in my basement.
LAST WATERING
BBM Input: 6.1 pH @ .31 EC
BBM Output: 6.9 pH @ 3.4 EC
HJ Input: 6.0 pH @ .30 EC
HJ Output: 7.2 pH @ 1.4 EC
------------------------------------------
1/4/25 - HARVEST DAYYYYY IS FINALLY HERE. So happy with these two plants the smells are unbelievable which is exactly why I picked them out. Now on to drying, cut the plants whole to maximize dry time. Hard to get to 60/60 so its probably gonna be closer to 65-69/50-60
