Strain
Strain Harvest Report: Gorilla Melon
The Journey to Harvest
Gorilla Melon displayed her unique personality and structure throughout the cycle, making her a standout. She was harvested in two stages: Day 56 and Day 63 of flower. The first half was taken early due to some mold-affected buds, ensuring the rest of the plant remained healthy and had the opportunity to further develop its potential.
This staggered approach allowed us to experiment with maturity levels while managing challenges. The Day 56 harvest yielded bulky, resin-rich colas, while the remaining half, harvested on Day 63, displayed even more density and terpene development.
Structure and Beauty
From her early days, Gorilla Melon grew with strength and grace, forming compact, dense buds coated in trichomes. Despite the challenges posed by mold, the plant’s overall health and resilience were a testament to the environment and techniques used in this cycle. The defoliation efforts and excellent airflow contributed significantly to minimizing the spread of mold, ensuring the harvest remained predominantly unaffected.
Drying and Curing
After careful inspection and harvesting, the buds spent 12 days drying in optimal conditions. The process highlighted their density and frostiness, revealing red undertones beneath a blanket of trichomes. Once trimmed, the buds were cured to bring out the strain’s full potential, locking in its flavors and potency.
