Cosmic Noodles (Zamnesia Seeds) in scrOG

The first week of the seedlingfase went without any issues. CN#2 is growing a bit asymmetrical, CN#3 is doing great and CN#2 was the slowest germinator but is going fine. But I don't see any issues, all 3 are ok. They didn't received lots of nutrients. On day 4 I gave them 50 ml tapwater with Plagron nutrients each (see above for which and how much) And that was all for this week. I've placed a small tower fan in the grow room to create a small breeze along the seedlings. This will give them stronger stems. Sometimes I see seedlings with toothpicks or other support. Don't do this. You have the feeling that you're helping them, but it only makes them weak. The first 2 days they stretched a bit, so I've raised the power of the cobs to 66 watt hanging at 54 cm. This gave them a DLI of 17.9/PPFD of 276. This was enough as stretching stopped. It stayed this way for the rest of the week. The Airfan is still off. There is plenty of fresh air in the tent for these 3 babies. Now and then the humidifier is turned on. Especially when humidity levels go under 50%. It's not vital to keep these levels high during veg, not for seedlings. But they like it, so why not? Week 2 of the seedlingfase went by and things are going ok. CN#3 is still my favourite, CN#2 starts growing normal and CN#1 is just doing its job. On the last day of this week I repotted them in 14 liter airpots. The soil was pre-watered with ph adjusted tapwater + Plagron Power Roots. (ec 0.55 – ph 6.3 – 21°C/69.8°F) There is a large heating mat underneath the airpots which is connected to a thermostate, set to 22°C(71.6°F) On that same day I switched on the Airfan, set at 40% 6 other plants have entered the room and these are 4 kinds of Drosera and 2 Venus Flytraps (carnivorious plants) 1 Capensis Alba, 1 Scorpioides, 1 Rotundifolia, 1 Paradoxa and 2 Red Dragons. These fellas will keep the Cosmic Noodles company and protect them from possible fungus gnats in the future. This is what I gave them this week: Day 1 → Rest of 100 ml of day 4 of last week + 150 ml mineral water. Each 50 ml of this solution. The 3th week went smooth. The Cosmic Noodles are growing nice, even CN#2 who started a bit funny is back on track. On day 20 I removed the lower leafs and shoots. These 4 lowest shoots dont produce enough flowers so I always remove them. Next week they're gonna be topped. As a test I've placed a yellow sticky flycatcher in each pot. So far I haven't seen any fungus gnats on them, so fingers crossed. The 4th week is history and the Cosmic Noodles are going great. They're about the same size with relative large fanleaves. The nodes are close to each other which I like. Day 23 all 3 were topped. Each plant has 6 mainshoots that I can scrOG. The screen will be placed next week. Still no fungus gnats This weeks menu: Day 1 → Each 500 ml (0.13 gallon) ph adjusted tapwater (ec 0.51 – ph 6.4 – 19.5°C/67.1°F) Day 2 → Dry Day 3 → Dry Day 4 → Feeding time. On the first day of the week I've placed the scrOg screen. There are 92 squares to fill, so these 3 Cosmic Noodles will be in veg stage for at least another week. They're growing like bushes, so height will be no problem. Shoots are reaching the screen so next week I'll be scrogging every day. No signs of nutrient deficiencies, but I've spotted a single fungus gnat. I hope it doesn't get worse... Next week I'm going to remove some lower leaves to improve airflow and it will be easier to water them. This was the last week of vegging for the Cosmic Noodles. They've stood 42 days in a 18/6 lightshedule and it took 3 days to germinate so I'm 45 days into this run. They're going to stretch in the coming 2 weeks so it will be easy to fill the screen. I've removed some leaves and lower shoots on the first day of the week. I took the carnivorious plants out of the room because it's going to get too dry for them and as there are no flies they're useless right now. And this I gave them this week Day 1 → Dry Day 2 → Feeding time. I added 2,5 ml Power Roots, 2,5 ml Pure Zym, 2,5 ml Sugar Royal 12 ml Fish Force and 6 ml Terra Grow to 3,3 litres (0.87 gallon) tapwater (ec 1.45 – ph 6.3 – 22.3°C/72.1°F) They got 1100 ml(0.29 gallon) each of this solution. The Cosmic Noodles have shown their pre-flowers already on the second day after the switch. If nothing goes wrong there are 3 ladies in the room. I attached the carbon filter to the Airfan. Smell is still weak, but things can change quickly. Every other day I worked a bit on the scrOG. They are pretty easy to bend. Beneath the screen I removed most of the leaves. In the beginning of this week my Ph meter broke down. So this weeks ph levels are a mistery. I know aprox how many drops of ph- I have to add to get the right level, but I always want to mesure it. A new meter is ordered. I also ordered a dehumidifier because humidity levels are a bit too high and that may cause issues later in bloom. The plants are going fine. This week also I scrogged and pruned some more. I have the impression that these Cosmic Noodles aren't stretching that much. This I gave the ladies this week Day 1 → Dry Day 2 → Feeding time. The third week of flowering and the Cosmic Noodles are doing ok. Some leaves have brown spots so I think a potassium deficiency maybe the cause. Maybe I'm starting a bit too late with Terra Bloom... Scrogging is over. When the real flowering starts to kick in I leave the plants alone and I don't touch them anymore. This weeks menu for the ladies Day 1 → Feeding time. It's seem like the Cosmic Noodles are hungry and thirsty plants. So this week I've raised ec levels to 2.0. The plants are yellowing way too soon but that could be a problem with ph levels. Now that I have 2 new ph meters I'm not sure about the levels in the past weeks. I mean, how long was the other ph meter faulty? Anyway, I hope that the ladies last another 5 – 6 weeks. 🤞 The buds are developping quite nicely and smell is still weak. This weeks menu Day 1 → Dry Day 2 → Feeding time. The buds are slowely fattening up and smell is coming in. More and more trichomes are becoming visibile. Flowering is about halfway now. The issues with the leaves are most likely due to drought. I have to learn to give way more water during flowering stage. I always think that they are too wet, but in fact they like it more wet during flowering. So I'm going to give more water and keep this in mind for next run(s). I'm also thinking about placing tubes in the soil so that I can water deeper. But that's also something for the next run. I can't do it now because I'll damage too much roots. The sixth week of flowering and the buds are developing more in length and width. The leaves stayed the same and they won't get any greener. This week the buds have started to swell a little more and their final shape is also clearer. There are some nice buds. The smell is there, but not very strong. I think they won't need 10 weeks of flowering, but rather 9 weeks. I've checked the trichomes and there are already milky ones, but no amber. So another week of taking up some mass and a week of ripening and I'll be harvesting. Day 1 → Feeding time. This week the buds have swollen a bit more. Another week of ripening and trichomes changing to amber before harvest. The buds are seeming to be very dense with a nice layer of shiny trichomes. I've checked the trichomes again and lots of them were turning milky. Not much amber but that will probably change in the coming week. Everyday I've checked for budrot but I haven't spotted any. Fingers crossed that I don't miss any and that it stays this way. In this final week the buds have stopped swelling and focus was more on ripening. I've checked the trichomes again and most trichomes are milky and some are amber. So after 63 days of flowering it was time for harvest. I was a bit worried about possible budrot, but after harvesting them I didn't found any. And no seeds at all. 👍 During this flushweek I made a mixture of demineralised water and tapwater at a ratio of 2 litres (0.53 gallon) tapwater to 1 litre (0.26 gallon) of demineralised water. I'll call this flushwater. The first 2 days the cobs stayed at 264 watt power and 40 cm (17.75 inch) (DLI 38.9/PPFD 900) On the third day I lowered the power to 240 watt at 40 cm (17.75 inch) This resulted in a DLI of 36/PPFD 833. It stayed like this till the end of the week/run. Temperatures fluctuated between 18.8 – 24.6°C (65.8 – 76.3°F) and humidity levels between 30 – 40 % The last harvest update will be added within +/- 10 days or so, when the buds are dry enough to put them on the scale. It took 63 days of flowering for the Cosmic Noodles. 3 plants gave me a total of 246,84 gram (8.7 oz) after drying for 11 days. The average power used during flowering was 241 watt. Pretty close to 1gr/watt.
