Lights were 80% until this week. Now at 100% for flower. The plants have exploded in growth. One more stretchy than the other. I’m struggling to keep the tent cooler than 80 degrees.
This weeks nutrients were identical to last minus the CalMag. The smaller of the two plants continued to stretch until the end of week three of flower. The larger plant already started to bulk. Trichome development is ramping up.
I noticed a slow down on growth this week. I’m guessing the amendments I added are all used up. Next week will start heavier feeding, especially with the bloom nutrients.
Trichomes are densely populated throughout the plant. One plant has thin unimpressive buds and the other has perfect growth for week number four of flower.
These two plants are very different.
They have the exact same feeding schedule and are supposed to both be the same seeds. One plant has thin spiral buds and is still very green. The other plant has spaced buds and is starting to yellow leaves fast.
Either way I wasn’t happy about the slow growth this week. Hopefully some noticable bulk this week.
On the last day of week 10 I brought it down to 18 hours lights. Then half way through week 11 I brought it to 16 hours. My plan was to reduce light until next week to 12/12 so I could try and induce resin development. One plant is done, as you can see from the trichomes. The other will finish this week. I wasn’t finished flushing and would prefer another week, but I also don’t want couch lock bud.
This plant was resilient to constant LST during veg . I found it to be a rewarding experience. The temperature even rose to the 90 degree mark for a couple days and the plant did not stunt growth at any time. I have two plants in the pictures but I’m only referring to the larger one. I did not clean up the bottom and ended up with a lot of pop-corn buds. I buds are medium density. The smell is gas, pungent, and earthy.
Last day of week 11 was harvest day. In the beginning of the week room temps were mid 70’s with 40-50 humidity. By the end of the I had it low 60’s for temp and humidity. It took six days to dry (which was way too fast). I never weighed the wet weight and estimated on here. Curing in black glass mason jars with 62% Boveda packs. Three week cure target.
Dry weight 182 grams
@Leonardo_DaGrower, I’ve been following your diary, it's been a big help to my own process and always inspire me. I have a grow going at the moment also.
I ditched the boveda , this piece of advice I’m giving you now is the piece I wish I’d had , buy a dryong rack and remove all the buds off the stalks, drying on the stem it never gets it fully dry , you will find that unless you do this , the buds will degenerate over time , go brown , never really develop their full flavour , I’m telling you this as you are an accomplished grower , nice trim btw 👍🏽
I’d stop with the grow big as there primarily in flower now. You should test your plants and use 4ml of your bloom nutrients. Some plants can take the extra nutrients and work some will wilt. If there good genetics they should be fine. I’d make sure to add a fan as well to strengthen the stems
@ilikepie00, I like your advice on bloom feeding and was thinking similarly. I have three fans in the tent. But I disagree with air blowing on them. I just use the fans for air circulation.
I can always support the buds a different way.
