1. It was a great Christmas. I have a new 4x4 tent and a QB light kit.
2. I will be growing a purple strain. I grew 2 photos that turned out very purple in the end, but this is the first time I've sought out a strain for its color. I'm hoping she will really show her colors in this winter grow.
3. I fed .25L filtered water and Recharge at 50% strength. I'll will only feed using Recharge to encourage root development and strong stalks until the first set of full leaves are fully developed. Then I will start feeding AN Sensei Grow P.1-2 at 25% at first. I hope to get to full strength by the time she starts to flower.
1. This little girl is loving the light.
2. She is currently drinking 1l of filtered water every 3 days. She is being fed with full strength Recharge every 3rd watering.
3. Since she has developed her first set of true fan leaves, I will begin nutrients at .25 strength. My schedule should be 1l every 3 days, feed-feed-Recharge.I'll increase that to .5 strength, then full strength within 3 weeks. Of course that depends on DD. I should be increasing the amount of filtered water to 2l as the plant begins to truly develop.
1. What a difference a week makes! DD has developed into a little bush! Secondary branching is developing nicely. There might be some defoliation involved in the future. We shall see.
2. This week she received 2 feedings of 25% Strength Sensei Grow A+B in 1l of water. Next week she will receive 2 feedings of 50% Sensei Grow A+B in 1l of water.
3. This week she received 1 feeding of Full Strength Recharge in 2l of water. This is an increase in the amount of water. I really wanted to saturate the soil with Recharge to develop this girl's root system.
4. Eventually she will receive 2l of filtered water each feeding, but right now the plant isn't developed enough to use that much liquid.
1. DD is definitely transitioned to flowering mode. I saw some pre-flowering growth last week, but now true flowers have emerged.
2. She hasn't stretched much yet. I measured 3 inches of growth for the week, but that could just be basic vegetative growth. We shall see.
3. I've switched to flowering nutes. I will be feeding Sensei Bloom A+B (75% strength) and Bud Candy (50% Strength) on feed days. I will continue with Recharge on the non-feed days.
4. DD is asking for more water so I will be using 2l of filtered water instead of 1l.
5. Sorry about the photos. My phone/camera is a piece of garbage. It is very frustrating.
1. DD is the tallest girl in the tent! She shot up over the week! There has been a doubling in height, and the buds are starting to really develop.
2. Feeding schedule remains the same. Flowering nutes at 50% strength. Next week I'll increase it to 75%. I'll go 100% after that until flush/harvest. I'll still use Recharge after every 2 feedings.
3. DD is starting to show some color at the base of the buds. This strain is supposed to be a darkish purple. I know my temps are pretty low, so that will help! I'd really like to see some purple buds at harvest time!
1. DD is doing her thing! Stretch is really over. She is starting to fill up the stalks with buds.
2. I'm seeing a lot of purple already. I knew this strain was a purple one, but I didn't think she would color up so early.
3. I'm starting to see a little frost on the sugar leaves. I'll probably start looking for developing trichomes next week.
4. I've increased flowering nutes to 75% strength. I'll do one more feeding at 75%, then give her a feeding of Recharge then kick it up to 100%. I'll probably do a slurry test in the next week or so to see how the soil is doing.
1. This is one beautiful plant! Her buds are filling the stalks and she is really showing off some serious purples!
2. I've added to Big Bud to her feeding schedule. I still have 2 more weeks of Bud Candy. Then I'll stop Bud Candy and switch to Overdrive for the last 2 weeks prior to flushing.
3. She is finishing up pretty fast. I might be looking at a 9+ week harvest. I really would like to finish nutes and flushing around week 12 though.
1. I'm really liking this plant! She has great bud structure, nice secondary budding, and that color is killer!
2. She still has a few weeks of ripening to do before harvest.
3. I'll change her feedings to reflect the end of her life cycle. She will no longer receive Bud Candy and Big Bud. I'll also lower Sensei Bloom. Demeter's Destiny will stay the same. I'll add Overdrive to help fatten those buds. I'll use Recharge 1 more time.
4. My plan is to feed-feed-Recharge-feed-feed-flush-Flawless Finish-Flawless Finish-flush-dark-harvest. Since I feed every 3 days, this should have me finishing at 11 weeks. I'd like to go 12, but I think that will be too long.
1. What a beautiful little plant is this is turning out to be. The buds look amazing, trichomes are developing nicely, giving the plant a frosty look, and she is fading in an elegant manner.
2. There have been a few changes in the feeding schedule. First of all, she is a thirsty girl these days. I've been feeding closer to every 2 days rather than 3. Secondly, I've changed Sensei Bloom and Bud Candy to 75%. I've omitted Big Bud and replaced it with Overdrive. Today was the last feeding of Recharge.
3. Next week I will reduced Sensei Bloom and Bud Candy to 50%. I will continue to use Overdrive. This will be the last round of feedings.
4. I anticipate harvest in 2-3 weeks. Trichomes are still clear to milky, but she is starting to fade, and the buds are really starting to swell. I'd like to be flushing by the time those trichomes turn.
1. I can't believe DD still isn't finished. This strain was the first one to really start packing on the buds. I thought it would be a fast finisher, but she is taking her time, putting on weight, and...foxtailing a bit!
2. I've stopped all nutes. I'm using Flawless Finish to flush the plant. I'll add that to my waterings then flush with plain water and repeat.
3. I'm thinking 2 weeks from harvest tops.
1. DD is about ready for harvest! Buds are fat and juicy. She looks done. She smells faintly of grapes! Although that might be the purple buds I'm looking at influencing my sense of smell.
2. I pulled her out of the tent today for a final flush, photographs, and a look at her trichome development. Trichs look all milky. I'm looking for more amber. I have a few more days until dark period and harvest.
3. I'll let her dry out for a few days then put her in the dark for 3 days to really let her finish up. Harvest should be late this week.
4. I'm really looking forward to harvesting this plant. She is easily the best plant I've grown to date.
1. DD is down and drying! Final Flush with filtered water was last weekend. I gave her a few days to dry out in the tent, then I put her in a dark room for 3 days.
2. Chopping her down was a breeze. She was basically a few branches covered in buds! Poor me.
3. I believe that I let this girl go a week or two too long. I noticed numerous hermies when I was trimming her today. I couldn't tell what they were in the tent, but now they are easily identifiable. I took a photo. The plant wasn't going through any stress, so I believe this was a case of letting my plant go too long. I would've harvested a week earlier, but I did not see 1 amber trichome. I've been looking at the trichomes twice a day for the last 3 weeks! I need a solution for this otherwise I can't use trichomes to determine harvest time.
4. This strain was the lightest of the 3 plants I harvested, despite the 75g main cola. She weighed in a 341g wet. I'll see a solid 2 ounces out this girl. I'll post finishing weights, bud photos, and taste observations next week when I pull her out of the drying box and trim and jar her.
1. DD is down and curing as we speak! She weighed out at 79g. There was another 7g in sugar leaves and larf.
2. She was ultra frosty when I pulled her out of the tent. That made trimming a chore. I chose to wet trim this time, and because of the stickiness of the buds, I had a hard time getting into some of the crevices for sugar leaves. The resin would just gum up the works!
3. I definitely waited a week or so too long. The hermies that I discovered when I cut down the plant had pollen in them! I cut into one and a small amount of pollen came out!
