[Start date Seedling: 09/19/24] So, I started a new run, focusing only on automatics. One of the seeds is another one from Zamnesia, called Grease Monkey Automatic. The picture looked cool, so I’m hoping we’ll see some nice colors. I soaked the seed in Black Forest still water for about 48 hours. After that, a taproot appeared, so I planted the seed directly in the pot. The pot is a 20L fabric pot made by AC Infinity. The quality of the pot is really, really good. The seed wasn’t planted right in the middle, but off-center. I want to train my autos in this run to gain more experience with LST. The soil is made of: Das ist ein eigener Mix: 20% Pumice: https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B0CQM61X8S/ About 8/9% of activated Biochar/Charcoal: https://www.amazon.de/DIMIKRO-Pflanzenkohle-fein-gemahlen-Liter/dp/B07PNPQSXR 20% Worm Castings: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B07SQDRXGC 50% of soil (Torffreie Kräuter und Aussaaterde): https://www.raiffeisenmarkt.de/gaertnerglueck-torffreie-kraeuter-und-aussaaterde-p-73816145

09/26/24 Short facts: - watered 2 x 0.2l - VPD @ 0.6 - Light @ 30% - ~370ppfd --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The plant is growing really well, no problems at all. On Day 3, I decided it was time to plant some clover as a cover crop. I now spray the top of the soil with a little water in the morning and evening. As you can see, the clover is already growing, it looks nice and more lively. This is my first grow inside my grow tent, so I’m happy to be able to control more environmental factors, especially the humidity and therefore the VPD (Vapor Pressure Deficit). I’m using the AC Infinity Cloudforge T3 (2nd Gen.). The VPD is currently set to 0.6. I programmed an offset of -2 degrees for the leaf temperature, which I measured. The actual difference is more like 2.6 degrees. (I use distilled water for the humidifier and added a few drops of tea tree oil to prevent the growth of bacteria or fungi, and it also repels insects. Plus, it smells quite good.) I watered the plant twice this week, 0.2L each time, with Silica Force, CalMag, and Root-Juice added. She is now 6 cm tall, and I’m totally happy with the growth.

10/03/24 Short facts: - started LST on day 13 - watered 2 x 1l -- 2l - VPD @ 0.7 -- raised by 0.1 - Light @ 40% - ~460ppfd -- increased by 10% --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sorry for being late with the second week update, but I was really sick. I'm happy that I managed to keep up with taking care of the plants. (Week 3 is coming tomorrow.) This week, I increased the VPD by 0.1 because it wasn’t necessary to maintain such high humidity anymore. The Grease Monkey is surprising me—the development is really good! Unfortunately, I’ve got problems with fungus gnats, which is probably no surprise because of the clover, which is growing very fast. Since I’ve been keeping the top layer of the soil moist every day for the clover, it allowed the fungus gnats to lay their eggs. To combat this, I used nematodes. On Day 13, I decided it was time to start with LST. I used some soft garden wire to stretch the plant to the other side of the pot, exposing the side branches directly to the light.

10/10/24 Short facts: - did continue with LST - watered 1 x 1,5l; 1 x 0,3; 1 x 1,2l - VPD @ 0.8 -- raised by 0.1 - Light @ 50% - ~500 to 560ppfd -- increased by 10% - Bio-Grow was increased --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sorry for not having more pictures and videos, I was still quite sick. Next week will be better. Not much to report this week. I raised the light intensity to 50% and increased the VPD. LST is going great. (It’s the first time I’m really trying to do it properly.) I had to cut off some leaves because they weren’t getting much light anymore. The Grease Monkey is surprising me a lot right now. I didn’t have high expectations and thought it might be the worst-performing plant in the grow tent, mainly because Zamnesia doesn’t have a big reputation for top-rated autoflowers. But honestly, I’m impressed. (I was already impressed by their Wurlz F1 Autoflower, which I tried this week—it blew my mind. Check out my diary on the Wurlz F1 if you’re interested.)

10/17/24 Short facts: - Continued with LST - Watered: 1 x 1.2L, 1 x 0.3L, 1 x 2L - VPD @ 0.9 — raised by 0.1 - Light @ 50% ~500 to 560 PPFD - Removed 2-3 leaves --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As promised last week, i made a video and explained the progress so far, and did show you the plant. Not much to report. I continued LST, though I’ve stopped for a few days now since the branches are well spread out, and that should be enough for the time being. The Grease Monkey is getting much thirstier, so I had to water her more than the other two plants. This correlates with her growth, which is exploding right now. She was already in preflower, but officially switched to flower on this day, so next week will be her first real week of flowering. I’m curious to see how much she’s going to stretch. Great plant! She’s currently my favorite in the grow tent.

10/24/24 Short facts: - Continued with LST - Watered: 1 x 1.5L, 1 x 1.5L, 1 x 1.5L -- 4.5L - VPD @ 1.0 — raised by 0.1 - Light @ 70% ~650 to 930 PPFD - Defoliation - Nutrients increased and added: BioBizz Top-Max and Bio-Bloom - No Root-Juice anymore --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I don't know, what happened, but my pictures are not very good this week. It is probably time to buy a good camera, maybe a used one, with a used good lense. I defoliated the Grease Monkey this week. It was really necessary. I had to remove a lot of leaves so that the branches and their tops could get direct light. But honestly, she looked pretty bad afterward. I really don’t like cutting off branches or leaves; it hurts me to see them like that afterward. On that occasion, I also did a bit more LST, but that was the only session this week. There probably won’t be much more LST to do in the upcoming weeks. I increased the light intensity and also upped the nutrients. Right now, she’s the thirstiest plant in the tent. I think I’ll need to increase watering because the pot was quite light when I gave her fresh water and nutrients.

10/31/24 Short facts: - Continued with LST - Watered: 1 x 1.8L, 1 x 1.5L, 1 x 0.5L, 1 x 1.5 — 5,3L - VPD @ 1.1 — raised by 0.1 - Light @ 80% ~700 to 1050 PPFD — increased by 10% - Added some Bonemeal - Temperature has increased, dehumidifier and increased light output had their effect - BioBizz Bio-Bloom increased to 2ml/L --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As you can see, she developed some buds over the last week. However, she needed more nutrients than she had access to, especially potassium and phosphorus. You can see that the leaves have lost a bit of color, and some of them are starting to die off. So, I gave her some diluted urine from myself 😂. But I also ordered some phosphorus fertilizer. She’s still quite thirsty and could probably use more water. Sometime next week, I’m planning to buy supplies for the Blumat drip system. (I’ll be gone for about a week in a few weeks, so I need to test the system beforehand.)

It wasn’t very bad, but I added 1.5L of water with 2.5ml of Hesi Phosphorus Plus. I was able to decrease the temperature inside the grow tent by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius. I achieved this with a new setting in the AC Infinity app and by bringing in more air from the outside (it’s gradually getting colder; winter is coming!). I also increased the VPD to 1.2, so she could take up more water and nutrients. I still need to increase the amount of water she’s getting. Overall, she’s doing fine. The buds are getting bigger, and she’s getting frostier. I’m sure the yield is going to be very good. (Overall, I still need to improve my soil mix with more nutrients for the next run because I’m sure she could have been bigger. There was a lack of nutrients in the soil to begin with.)

At night between 18 to 19°C --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There isn’t much to report this week. She’s doing fine, but she might need a little more CalMag and nitrogen. So I’m giving her some extra CalMag and a small amount of bonemeal. Since the weather is getting quite cold for the region - and we’ve already had a bit of snow - the cellar where my grow tent is set up is cooling down, with nighttime temperatures dropping to 18–19°C. Therefore, I’ve ordered some heat mats, which should arrive tomorrow. I’m aiming to stabilize the root temperature at around 22°C consistently, so the nights won’t be too cold anymore. I’ll go into more detail in next week’s update.

11/28/24 Short Facts: Watered: 1 x 2.5L, 1 x 3.0L, 1 x 3.0L — Total: 8.5L VPD @ 1.4 Light @ 70% (~700 to 950 PPFD) — decreased by 10% Used a special nitrogen + magnesium fertilizer Heat mat is now in use --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- She’s doing fine again. After giving her some special nitrogen fertilizer, no new yellowing leaves have appeared. Finally, the heat mat arrived! I set the temperature to 27°C so the roots stay consistently warm. Excellent! It also helps maintain a nice temperature in the grow tent when the lights are off. My Blumat equipment has arrived! I used the Blumat Digital Pro Plus for the first time, and it’s a real game-changer. I realized I had been underwatering my plants, which cost me a lot of growth potential. The plant could have been taller and yielded more. Now, I water about every second day with significantly more water. For my next grow, I plan to use the Blumat drip system for automated watering. This will allow the plants to take up as much water as they need at any time. That should elevate my grows to a whole new level!

Everything is fine, and the buds are getting bigger. The Blumat Digital Pro Plus is really helpful, making my watering spot-on. Great tool! Unfortunately, the macro lens and the microscopic lens I ordered for my phone didn’t arrive this week, but I’m hopeful they’ll arrive in the coming days. I’ll probably upload a lot of cool pictures in the next report, so stay tuned!

12/19/24 Short Facts: Watered: - VPD @ 1.3 — decreased by 0.1, because of the new plant in the tent Light @ 70% (~700 to 950 PPFD) No fertilizers except Silicia Force and Dimikro Effective Microorganisms (Dimikro Effektive Mikroorganismen) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nothing special happened this week. Everything is fine, and the buds are getting bigger as senescence progresses. This week, I started to watered without any fertilizer except for Silica Force and Dimikro Effective Microorganisms ( https://www.amazon.de/dp/B07S18MWYT ). Right now, she isn’t thirsty anymore. I also watered with reverse osmosis water, which seems to have had a great effect, it even appears that senescence is slowing down. At this point, I’m confident that the problems I had with my plants over the last few weeks originated from the tap water. The treatment process for the tap water seems to have changed, which also altered its pH. Unfortunately, that change wasn’t beneficial for my plants. However, now that I have a reverse osmosis water filter, I should have nearly consistent water quality, comparable to rainwater.

I discarded half of the harvest before drying. The wet weight was 586g, so it was clear from the start that the harvest would far exceed the legal limit, making it unnecessary to dry everything. The remaining half had a dry weight of 90g, as shown in the pictures. Based on this, I would estimate the total yield to be 150g+. (Still had to throw away 80% of the harvest 😩) This grow was the best I’ve ever had! I learned a lot, especially about how to perform LST, and I’d say I did quite well! (For calculating the used Watts of the grow light, I divided the 200 Watts between the three plants.)
the end.
