i have a huge doubt about deciding when these are ready, i want a 50/50 cloudy/hazel trichs. but what i really want to see is the hairs get swallowed by the calyx's , isnt that the point of max maturity!?

Nope the points of maturity are based on the trichomes and the effect based on the trichomes ratio. The 50/50 white/hazel is the ratio I'm searching for as it is a powerfull couch locking weed that you get from it , it will makes you sleep each time for sure. The older the plant is and the bigger the bud will be so at a certain point the buds will looks like they are swallowing the pistils but this effect appears almost heavy time 80% of your pistils becomes brown 😊

Hi @Jisaac904! Pistils / Hairs are not the best way to tell when your flushing window is open. You should wait until all of your buds have gone fat & rock-solid, check the trichomes with a magnifier/hand-held microscope, and start flushing when the trichomes are turning from clear to milky. Then, watch carefully everyday and wait for all the trichomes to be milky (some may start becoming amber, you're good to go!). I'll be around, keep us up-to-date and good luck with this beauty! 👊

The pistils will darken and retract, but never fully dissapear into the calyxes. When that happens, it usually matches the point of peak thricomes maturity, but not always. So it's a very Isela visual cue, but not always accurate.

max potency in THC is all milky no ambers no clears, 50/50 is a strong weed with a big couch lock effect, it's a matter of taste in the end, let me know if you have any other questions my friend ! 🚀

@Jisaac904, well it's not exactly a canabalisation more what's called senescence in plants check it out : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plant_senescence ,i think that's what you mean, and no basically you dont need to wait for that and sometimes it doesnt really happen, sometimes you can make it look like that through the flushing process which you should do for sure : https://www.growweedeasy.com/flushing

@CRiSPrGrow,i do have a strong doubt, is it necessary for the bigger fan leaves to be cannibilized by the plant for it be considered a correct harvest?

@HighTV,thnx alot bro, i love me some good luck. that is legitamitly my closet lol, i could probably flower another plant in there but co2 supply might come im demand. the humidity is an issue but only in the summer when in florida it can be dry hot. especially north florida. so i do use a humidifier, but in the winter the humidity stays in check between 50%~66%. its very tedious to flush though ....

@@Athos,you know what bro, its just looking at them trichomes sometimes can be unsettling . right now i got a couple bushes and the trichomes are thick n shiny. but you know what they say , gtta try n push for the last 2 weeks. .. what about those plants that look ready and barely show any fading in the leaves.. even though youve been flushing for over almost 2 weeks now....so annoying i wish the leaves would fade...

Looking good, close to harvest. My advice ; I wouldn't go for ambers.Amber means higher CBN which you can't feel the effect of.It's just a waste of time and high.Max milky trics is my way to go.Only strains with couch lock effect can give you that couch lock you are looking for.I go by my gut btw,not strictly analyzing trichomes. When it looks ready from outside,it gets chopped.Yours seems to have entered harvest period.Wait for one more week and chop whenever you want from then.Happy growing, your plant looks very healthy

@HighRoller909, it has been 2 weeks more than what you recommended. but i dont see any amber or fading of leaves. it doesnt smell very much neither

i believe i was giving it 13 hours of light , which has caused the buds to keep growing new calyxs with white fat pistils. ive cut down the light to 9 hours to hopefully make these babeys just ripen up. they arent sticky at all and dont smell alot. so im already feeling a little dissapoonted.
