Started my first ever grow after buying a „premium“ grow kit from a german online distributor! Since my grow space is limited to roughly 2x2x5 I had to go with an option that included a 60cm x 60cm x 140cm (roughly 2x2x4.6 feet) tent. Prior to the process I took some time considering my options/learning the basic terminology (LST, HST,auto, feminized,…) I finally settled with a scrog for maximum yield! Sadly the german law forces me to destroy everything down to a maximum of 50g (1.7oz) after the harvest. So in the end this grow is just for fun and a learning experience! Since I’m expecting to harvest the legal amount at about mid december I thought it was a good time to start the report and maybe even getting some advise! Would be highly appreciated! Since I’ve got family and only so much time for training and watering I decided to use advanced nutrients basic kit (micro/grow/bloom) because they got me with their ph perfect technology and I wanted to learn about preparing and feeding my soil in a later run! I know that this shortcut may displease a lot of growers.

Ella was dry and Aretha still very wet. I’m assuming she had sever root damage or underdevelopment based on some stress I put her through 😓. At the end of the week I decided to make a one plant scrog with Ella alone. I had no idea how to get them in sync for the scrog at that point. It’s so sad because I was very intrigued by her tomato/strawberry-y leafs ;)

By the end of the seventh week I started defoliating the bottom of the plant and midweek I finally switched to flower. I’m pretty sure I could have reduced veg time if I would have planned for only one plant but keeping a plant even lower would mess with my watering. I can not even reach my plant comfortably from any side since the room is so small

So many leaves 😅 but it’s going great! Transitioning to flower in a scrog seems to start a very entertaining and eye pleasing process. I also have to invest less time!

Only watering and defoliating the canopy to improve the light distribution. I only have to water the plants when they are dry! Lots of photos I’m really enjoying the view

Watering, enjoying, removing leaves of buds that are touching each other! In this process I accidentally touched some buds and their hairs turned brown. But this beautiful plant is so forgiving… they just keep regrowing! Really happy since I read that in an ideal world the natural browning of the hairs is one of the many blooming state indicators

This is it, that’s the current state of my fat lady Ella! I just became the father of a second girl and this raises concerns what might happen to my love capacities… I do really hope this grow will see it’s natural end! But at least I wanted to conserve all those photos somewhere

Still going… since I got some positive feedback, I made a video. I think this helps so much imagining the size of the space! Daughter is doing great… cozy environment! And since day and night time schedule of my plant and my personal live aren’t in sync I do now own a green LED headlight, which - if it is working as advertised - shouldn’t stress the plants, when watering during the night. 11/15 new phone: Media Update

Week 14. Flowering

Another week without any problems… I increased the sanlight evo 3-60 from 3/4 to full power (200W) and the distance from ca 30 to 40cm. My PAR METER now shows values between 800-1600 µmol/m²/s where it was between 600-1400 µmol/m²/s before. Not quite sure if this is only wasting energy for the more exposed/closer main-buds (1600 µmol/m²/s) or if this is even doing light stress or damage to them, but getting the smaller ones from 600-700 to 800-900 seems worth the risk. I keep asking myself if I should have done that much earlier in flower to increase the bud “growth” or “fattening”. My plan from now on is one more watering by advanced nutrients' schedule and then two successive waterings with ph corrected flawless finish to let the plant slowly come to an end. Then I will let them rest in peace for two 24h nights. This will be between flower 65 and 70 which is in sync with what Barney’s Farm suggests. The harvest part makes me a little nervous but maybe I’ll get some help here! Update 11/25 After another watering with nutrients the flowers are thriving and a lot of new growth is coming out! But of course I also got lots of amber trichomes already… 🤷🏻 I think I will just have a look at trichomes in places where the newest growth was last happening and where they are not that exposed to light. What I found most helpful was the advise to let the amber/milky/clear ratio be and go for all milky instead. This probably matches my scenario the most, since a lot of the actual bud's biomass is already a little older… otherwise I wouldn’t know how to actually meet the breeders flower schedule, in my case 65-70 days. I assume the pics of the current buds will be downgraded so the actual trichomes aren’t visible any more, but at least the new growth that is still going should be.

I watered with nutrients for the last time 3 days ago. The next 2 waterings will only use ph corrected water and advanced nutrients flawlessly finish! Honestly I will use it only because I bought it. I hope that it will do nothing but good. Update: 24/11/05 I just watered the last time with only flawless finish (2ml/l) and did my first ph correction with biobizz down…man that was easy. But all in all advanced nutrients basic trio made my life very easy for the first grow! I really could concentrate on the LST and ScroG! In three days I will let them have 48h of darkness and after that I will chop and hang the buds… Just for reference I uploaded some photos of the current state of some trichomes! As I already said I think everything between could already have and should wait 1-2 more weeks should apply, no? The tops of most of the buds have lots of amber trichomes. Personal stuff came up and I need to operate on a fixed schedule now and be much faster than anticipated. But I think everything will be fine! I plan on hanging all the buds in two layers so they can dry with double the amount of space around them and switch my exhaust fan to mode 1 of 2 which should than be 175 instead of 233 m3/h! Does that make sense or should I leave it at full capacity? Additional fan on/off? I‘m positive I can keep the temperature between 14-18°C (57-65°F) and the humidity between 45% and 60%. Temperature will be „configurable“, humidity is something I have to live with! I have no extra devices considering the humidity modification at my di currently.

Make sure to wet trim all buds hang them on mesh drying racks. Of you can hold a cold temp wile. Drying make sure not to get to cold you don't want to get dew on the buds. I'd leave the exhaust fan on in the tent on low also get another fan for inside the tent don't let it blow right on buds also don't let the wind from it bounce off the wall and hit the buds directly this will sry buds uneven. Also keep in mind if you can hold twmp down at 58 to 60 degrees for about every degree you go about 60 degrees make sure you make.up with the rise in temp with lowering the rh. If temp rises in dry tent you must lower rh to balance

Why use a tent? The tent frame is good enough. Hell of a lot easier to control the RH and circulation strength too. Fans inside a tent are pretty much impossible not to cause a heavy breeze across the buds, which will dry them too fast. if you must.. you need a hygrometer to see if the lower exhaust fan setting results in a proper RH% (~60%). Thisi something you need to measure and not take someone's guess online. If temps and RH% are good, all is fine.. assuming the buds aren't getting air blown across them as opposed to just enough to maintain a consistent RH. Take the canvas off... put a fan in the room (or the humidifier fan might be enough, too). Keep it simpler.. not complicated. No need for a duct fan and a enclosed tent.

We leave it at 175 or higher, on a lower setting much activity on the top level. First 0-5 (days) on setting 233, then 175 untill snappy. Or 233 at 14°C and 175 at 18°.

Wow! what a feeling. Harvesting, starting the drying process… so happy and afraid at the same time. I’ll see what happens.. thought this was a 3h job, but no experience in trimming for the drying process made it a 7h sitting. I was way too optimistic with the cold temperatures. The real weather’s ttemperature will rise again in the next days. I assume this night, the box and room will probably settle between 18°C/64.4°F | 52% - 20°C/68°F | 50% Not really happy with this, but it is what it is. Next run I will be able to play with at least some of the parameters. I harvested 1,270KG of which I assume 500g are stems. So maybe 800g of wet flower. I couldn’t be happier since then I will be very cherry picky with the 50g of dead plant that I’m aloud to keep! Tossing all the other goods on the other hand is just sad and I think it does not make sense at all! But I will obey and keep growing as the law requires, whereas I could theoretically just grow once a year! Sharing this grow with this community made it a blast in my real and digital life! I’m very thankful for all the appreciation and encouragement! I’ll keep you updated with the dry weight and hopefully the good news, that there was no mold and it also doesn’t vape like hay! Update: 2023/12/18 Since my smoke review does not appear yet or I did something wrong with the commenting, I present you with the short facts: The dried and trimmed buds weigh 214g, and in the last week of flower the plant developed minor male features. But since it was so short before harvest, luckily there wasn’t enough time for this to effect my enjoyment… And since I’m only allowed to keep 50g of the dead material, I will just cherry-pick around this! Again, thanks for reading and keep growing, I sure will do! 🥦💚🥦
