Hello all I am just beginning things here with my first Mephisto Genetics grow. I am very excited to have found this app. hopefully it stays around and improves. So, I will be growing Creme de la chem. I will be using a 300W COB LED as well as a 250W powersun HPS for the grow. Just the 300W COB LED for vegging and Both LED and HPS for flowering. I have a pair of 44 watt or 88 total watts blue spectrum LED lights from phillips brand for seedlings which, right now are being utilised closest to the sprouting seedling to keep the area warm until it pops a few centimetres above ground and I can start using the veg light. I am keeping the area moist and preparing for the Creme de la Chem to pop hopefully by tomorrow night. The seed took about 12 hours to crack on a moist toilet paper beside my hard drive. I will be using my own custom soil mixture and heres a backround on the soil im using.
most of the soil was made last summer. I grew tomatoes and built the soil with lowes red bag triplemix and a giant bag of organic certified peatmoss/humus mixture. there was enough soil to top dress a backyard 50 by 70 ft big, anyway with what I used in for the tomatoes, I mixed a bag of gaia green power bloom in it and grew a LOT of tomatoes summer 2018. the one thing I did not have was perlite or proper drainage that summer. I tilled everything in the fall 2018 before legalisation in canada, filled two of my best fabric containers and brought them downstairs to further top dress them with whatever I listed above because I thought I was going to grow as soon as it became legal. well it just sat there watered a few times and the great white created a huge thick layer of all those dressings into a big mycelium block kind of thing.and I guess it dried out completely and maybe composted a bit or didnt. I'm not sure but anyways I retilled it again and filled four 7 gallon fabric pots to exactly 50% full, then I added a full top dressing of a local grow shops house brand mycelium powder (great white by plant success equivilant) (I use the great white for transplanting and seedlings and general feeding) then I filled them all to the top with perlite and mixed. it is nice and fluffy and airy now.. that is the backround on the soil. I will be feeding it with everything I've already used except the gaia green powerbloom. hopefully people can comment and tell me what they think/watch my grow with me if anything goes wrong you all can help. Thanks for taking the time to read if you did.
week 5 day 1 or days 35 to about 38 from seed vegging coming to end showing hairs now starting to bloom slow as can be no deficiencies 50% humidity gave it enough kelp etc maybe the stunt from the mg burn just signalled it to stay smaller but it seemed very healthy.
last day of week 6 after about a week of flowering still unsure of what to think about my efforts. feel unsatisfied. i took out the chicken manure aswell as the clover and alfalfa becuase the plant got stunted I said its not worth if anything goes wrong from when that happened so when that happened I just gave it Mg, seaweed, Great White powder only once or twice because I innoculated the soil pre starting the grow with myco from a different brand, , and with bloom now it needed those amendments so instead I have been just giving it fox farm big bloom and molasses as a boost and the plant has had absolutely no issues. really hoping the flowers stack
week 7 blah 2 weeks of flowering still no deficiencies unless the lighter tips and the purple stems mean somthing. I thought the stems mean it might need more phosphorus so I gave it more big bloom that next feeding and it fixed it. everything is just going well but flowers aren't really stacking.
week 8 day 4 from seed everything is going well I guess the buds look like their trying to get bigger but not really,, shit ton of of crystals and amazing smell though... we'll see how the next few weeks play out. the plant is really talking now leaves going up and down between feedings and it seems to be enjoying its medium. there are fungus gnats in the room but they don't want anything to do with this plant, they seem to favor the avt I have beside it and are leaving the CDLC completely alone so I would say this genetics is good pest resistance. I will have to do somthing about the small pests but theres not many only a handful and they dont really an environment to grow for them so after this test grow im just going to wait a few weeks for the little flies to die off and air out the room. any comments would be appreciated
