This was the hardest grow so far, but it was totally my mistake. I did not know why the plants are behaving this way. After few days i figured out i was giving them wrong dossage :/ but in the end everything was ok. Yield was small, but ok. We learned something new every grow :) I love RQS strains!

I was reading alot about wattering the plants that grow in aipots. do you have any tips on wattering?it can get pretty messy. how often do you watter them?when twice per day, always with nutrients? are u sattisfied with airpots?was there any difference in yield?

Hey there so the air pots are alright, they function the same as many other air pruning pots, however they are one of the few who has such a tall and small diameter making them top heavy. I think a wider pot is better because of all the fibrous branching roots vs the 1 tap root. Regarding water if you want there to be the most perfect and even watering I'd suggest looking into a blumat, you can add nutrients and they're powered by gravity no electricity. Otherwise, i noticed my 1 gallon pots need watering almost every day once the plants have gotten decent sized they drink alot and the air dries the pot some too. Probably alternating the nutrient and plain water is a good way, unless you're feeding such a small amount that each watering is most likely alright also. Good luck with the grow. ✌️

hello, i have problem with one plant. it keeps droping leaves every day, and when i give her watter, the next day in the morning it is ok again. than on the afternoon, leaves are down again. i doubt she needs that much watter. the soil is wet. will post picture in album

Hey Pixsna, great question. The main problem you have is overwatering , i can see this from the "puffy space" in between the veins of the leaves. The drooping and the curling from the base of the stem to the tip of the leaf are also signs of over water. To fix this, nothing simpler than just letting the medium dry out completely and follow a strict wet dry cycle. Careful to make sure you do this otherwise you could get more serious problems like root problems or even mold. Hope this helps ! πŸš€

Great setup =) airpots are and will remain a bitch to water. (Such a bitch that I won't use them anymore in flower) A tip, right now your soil is too low in the pots. If you put it all the way to the top the first 2 rows of closed holes "help" the water stay in the pot, (They really don't do so well) I see barks in your medium so I assume it is a peat mix. This makes aipots trickier to use because those mixes get very hydrophobic when it's dry. To see that in action, fill a transparent cup with peat mix, let it dry out and water it from the top and see what happens. This is why you have to water very slow. The more hydrophobic your dry medium, the more water will run out the sides if it too much is poured on too quick. Just water when the pots are light and follow a wet dry cycle. Go for 20-40% runoff and you can feed with every watering. That will be every 2-3 days with fully rooted airpots in my experience. YMMV When the plants are at this stage, i.e. they have not rooted the pots, I don't have to water them for 10-12 days and they grow very vigorously

@Pixsna, Np, good luck with the grow πŸ‘ Another thing I learned is to pack them tight when you prepare those pots. Get some moist peat/coco and pack up the holes on the sides good and tight, before filling in the center. The manufacturer actually recommends users to pack the medium a bit tighter in general. I packed super tight and had incredible roots the last time I used them. Some people are scared to pack tight, I say whatever- https://growdiaries.s3-accelerate.amazonaws.com/static/post/video/7325/13112_pineapple-chunk-critical-xxl_cnv.mp4 Another thing to consider is to obey the wet dry cycle less. I watered every 2 days because in the 3rd day it all gets bone dry and that's when the hydrophobic mix becomes a huge issue. Overwatering is almost impossible with these anyway. If I used them again I might water daily because the EC probably gets quite high when it's dried.

And yes if the soil is very dry/ the watrr likes to run out of the holes. but if you are patient, and give small amounts until the hole can is empty, you will have good success. I love my Airpots, and wont change them

I don't know about your feeding and watering of course, but with the plagron nutrients a rule of thumb is that 1 ml/l adds about 100ppm. 5ml on top of my tap water brings me to about 750-800ppm. 5 ml dose will bring the PH from ~7 to ~6.4. So the full dose is not super strong. (1 - 1.5 EC depending on which conversion scale, I'm unsure in this case)
Pixsna
Pixsna
@BillMonroe, i dont give them that much watter. I forgot to change it in diarie. :) Normally the plants in flowering stage are very thirsty, but not this one. I give them 1L per 4-5 days. I lift the light 10cm two days ago. Tomorrow i will remove all the small grow and may i will flush them too. Between week 2 and 3 small progress was made. I noticed the white hairs today. So they are not totally death :D
BillMonroe
BillMonroe
@Pixsna, np! Hmm, that is a possible approach but I'm not really sure, because it would depend on the runoff. For instance, if I were to water my 800 ppm mix and noticed the runoff was above 2000 ppm I would maybe do it. Otherwise it's too much of a hassle because it takes so much water to properly flush the peat. I really have no idea about advice 😞. I see different plants are affected differently despite similar treatment, can't really tell what's going on because of the light color. If the 2L a day stat is accurate - I would say maybe there is not enough canopy to warrant such amounts of water added daily, but I'm not in your grow of course so it's really just a hunch. In this exact size pots I had to give about 3.5L of water every 2 days. That was only under 315 watts, but those plants were big and my tent was very full of foliage which all transpires the water bringing my room to 85% humidity in the peak days. At any rate, it looks more like an environmental kind of thing rather than nutrient related, combined with maybe some individual differences between plants... E.g. One of the criticals I've grown didn't like being too wet and was droopier. One of the silver haze I'm growing can't handle the same light intensity as the other 3... maybe something like that is going on here. Personally I would just let them dry out until the pots are light and the bottom leaves show loss of turgidity, see how long that takes, and then feed normally with a lot of runoff. But maybe that's bad advice hehe.
Pixsna
Pixsna
@BillMonroe,thanks again! Do you think flushing them will help? And than feed normal, when they need it?

Hey Pixsna, nice work, the gorillas looked unreal πŸ˜πŸ‘ I have a few questions because i have some problems with plagron lightmix. Did you use plagron soil for your last grows and if yes, growmix or lightmix? And how often did you feed them with the 5ml bloom and 1ml green sensation? every time watering like on their feeding schedule?
Pixsna
Pixsna
@Mrs_Larimar, This comment was for royal gorilla grow and not for this one :) i know 1L is too much for such small plants. Some say roots go towards humudity and the others that is better when the soil is dry :D
Mrs_Larimar
Mrs_Larimar
@Pixsna, 1 liter is way to much for a plant like this. your little ones will need 20-50 ml per day. my recommondation is to let the soil dry out for 7-10 days( depending how warm it is. and then starting with one cup of water for 2-4 days.. happy growing. If you go on giving them 1 liter per day. its like standing in a swamp and the plant gets lazy . she dont have to look for waterand building less roots. And!! overwatering bring alot of issues like pest and mold an rotten roots. give them small amounts of water, so they have to look for water, and spreading the roots
Pixsna
Pixsna
@watchyoutubeTHRIVE, Hello! Thanks! Yes i used plagron soil, but after first 3 weeks. It was growmix. I used terra bloom and green sensation for every wattering. 5mlL of terra bloom and 1mlL of GS. I just followed plagron feeding schedule. Google plagron feeding calculator. I watter the plants every two days with 1L. (15l pots)

Definitely get the EC & PH metres. I dont know how I would manage without them. I even have spares. I think your plants are going to give you some BIG buds. πŸ’ͺπŸ½πŸ˜πŸ‘ŠπŸΌ
Puffer_Bill
Puffer_Bill
@Pixsna, On my 1st grow I followed instructions on label. X amount of mils of nutes to X amount of water. Luckily I had an EC metre. I found the EC way too high. So you cant really go by label/info alone. Now I dont follow instruction amounts. Grow 🌱 well
Pixsna
Pixsna
@Puffer_Bill,i will buy them for my next grow. Than i need to learn about PPM, how much they need in different stages of growth. I never used one, i guess it will help me alot with nutrients dosage. For now i have just followed feeding schedule.

IMO.... the leaves look much better now than week 3. Hopefully it will work out just fine. πŸ˜ŽπŸ€ Question... if I may please. How do you soil growers know how much nutrients to add? Is there a soil tester or is it done by a growth chart or just by leaf colour. Thanks
