Hows it going everybody! Starting this grow diary a few weeks late but will keep updating from this point on. This is my first grow starting with seeds and hoping to get some tips and advice from anyone and everyone! I started with 4 regular ninja fruit seeds from ocean grown seeds and 3 regular bubblegum x shiva seeds i got from a buddy and got 100% germination! In the pictures top 4 are ninja fruit and bottom 3 are bubble gum x shiva. Growth rate is going ok. First week leaves and new growth were light and edges of some of the NF may have some nutrient burn? During 2nd week I added an small amount of nitrogen rich organic top dress in hopes for better color and they seem happier and growth still going well. Week 3 they are looking even better! All seem happy and well! Please leave any comment or advice to help me with my grow. Thanks!
Week 4 went well. Steady growth and looking happy and healthy. I ended up moving the 4 Ninja Fruit into their own tent so gonna start their own diary, you can follow that diary as well! This week the Bubble Gum X Shiva got topped and transplanted into 2 gallon air-pots. Hope they do well after the topping and transplant. Comments, questions and advice all welcome!
Begining of week 5 went well after topping. Alot of new growth and still looking healthy and happy. Last day of week 5 i decided to defoliate and start low stress training. Ive read alot of pros and cons on defoliating but, I also grow a variety of super hot peppers and defoliating helps me with more growth and in the end yield more fruit. So hoping this will also help the growth of these Bubble Gum X Shiva.
Week 6 plants looking healthy and happy. All three handled the defoliation well from last Sunday. Training going good as well. In the process of building a scrog net but waiting for them to show sex.
Hi @belikewaterh20! A regular strain (photosynthesis) will start showing its gender after 4 to 6 weeks in the vegetative stage. It won't be bud-sites yet (if female) but you shall see a few pistils (or pollen sacs), enough to know the sex and make a decision based on that gender. In case of an autoflowering strain, the gender shows up after 3 to 5 weeks, when the plant starts its pre-flowering process. There are some methods to determine plant's gender without waiting X weeks or without switching to 12/12 light cycle: just put a cardboard onto one of your stems, so the branch remains hidden from any source of light, and this stem will start flowering before the rest of your plant. One other option would be to take some clones, root them, and put them under a 12/12 cycle (even a tiny lamp shall work). Week 7 went very well. All three bushed up lookin happy, healthy and female! Finally found some hairs that ive been searching for. So now knowing this I did a defoliation, I topped dressed them with dry amendments and built a scrog net for more training. Gonna start each day or so changing the light period back one hour till I set it to 10/14.
Week 8 had good growth and all three starting to strech and pass through scrog. This past week i was gonna flip to flower by removing an hour a day till i reached the flowering schedule but decided to veg them out for one more week and flip them to 12/12 tomorrow on 3/4/19. So before the flip I did a light defoliation and lollipop the undercarriage to focus the growth of the main bud sites. Hope they recover well and start showing their flowers!
Week 9/ Week 1 of flower is going well! All lookin healthy and starting to stretch a bit. If any of you that saw my Ninja Fruit grow and saw why I had to clear it out, I ended up placing #2 Bubble Gum X Shiva in her own home and seems to doin well with the move. Trying to keep both environments similar but we will see how much difference in growth with the two.
Week 10 not the greatest but still learning and getting more experience. Top dressed all with craft blend organic amendments and rainbow mix pro bloom. #2 Bubble Gum X Shiva doin well, light defoiation and more LST. #1 not doin as well, leaves loosing color turning light green/ yellowish but stretching. #3 not good... after doing some defoliation took a closer look and found i believe are pollen sacs? Also loosing color. Preparing to take the heshe down. Started out with 7 all together and down to 2. All is good gonna continue with the 2 girls and hopefully get a decent yield from them. On to the next week.
I believe #1/#3 have some sort of deficency just cant target which it could be nitrogen, iron, zinc?
I have been feeding and watering all 3 the same amount and #2 seems better but she is under different LEDs... could lighting be the problem?

hey there, youhave two questions so I will answer the first one first : you have the start of magnesium deficiency, you can tell by the yellowing between the veins of the leafs. Second question, I'm sorry man, but you have a male plant coming on, see those ball sacks. They wont open right away but they can get damaged and still pollinate your whole room. bag them with a large black trash bag and remove them from the tent as carefully as possible to avoid pollination. Week 11 things going and lookin better. I moved #1 Bubble Gum X Shiva in with #2 and shes doing fine maybe even better than the smaller tent. After top dressing at the end of week 10 the #1's color is coming back in about a week. Gave a couple waterings with some Epsom salt and it may have helped in deficency. #1 showing a bit more trichomes than #2 but still growing and starting to stack. Did a defoliation and more LST to get more light in towards the center and lower buds. All is good so far and looking forward to next week.
Week 12 still goin and growin and lookin happy! #1 Bubble Gum X Shiva getting frosty and #2 seems to be putting on a bit more weight. Smell is coming along has a bit of sweetness to it. Topped dressed with 75% bloom and 25% all purpose blend. Hope the coming week they put on more weight and terpenes!
Week 13 not much to say but all still doing well. #1 Bubble Gum X Shiva getting frosty and smelling sweet! #2 not as frosty but flowers look like their stacking well and has a bit of a gassy smell. Up'ed the watering and seem to like that. This was the last week for dry amendments so from this point forward only waterings till harvest.
Week 14 both plants doing well! Not too much to report. Leaves starting to fade a bit. Trichomes on #2 showing some amber color. #1 getting frosty and smelling sweet. Maybe a couple more weeks till harvest cant wait!
So #2 is starting to show amber trichomes but #1 isnt in that stage yet. Should i harvest #2 when ready or can i wait until #1 is also ready and harvest together? Is it bad to harvest late? My plan was to hang them both in the tent to dry.
If it is a logistical issue then cut them both at the same time to hang them both in the same space , the consequence will be a narcotic weed for the #1 because it's what happens when the trichomes ratio is tending to be amber at 30% and I bet it's near from what you will have.
If you have a plan B for drying and another place to do it then cut the plant that is ready ... I mean she is ready , what could be a better reason to cut her ?
Week 15 was all good! Leaves fading a lot and trichomes looking good! I think i will wait till next weekend to harvest. What do you think? Cant wait and see how they come out!
