Had some problems with photoperiod germination so decided to throw in some autoflowers to fill up the tent and see how they do under 12/12.
They are all in 10l hempy buckets with perlite on the bottom, 50/50 coco/hydroleca on top of that and the rest pure coco.
The photoperiods are about 3 weeks old at this point and the autoflowers just starting veg. I started main-lining the Jack Herer a bit too early so it was stunted for a while.
5.2: Flipped to flowering yesterday. Did some defoliation, swapped to my HPS bulb and gave the photoperiods a good ol' feed. The Kalashnikova is turning into a god damn monster! Can't wait to see what these guys do during the stretch.
8.2: Light defoliation on the photoperiods (took some more off the Kalashnikova after the pictures) and trying to keep up with the LST on the autoflowers. I'm currently watering about twice a week until 10-20% runoff.
Just for clarity: the feedings in the diary are for the photoperiods, for the autoflower feeding you can basically check what I was feeding the previous week.
Had to leave them alone for 8 days. They were quite severely dehydrated when I came back, especially the photoperiods. Almost was a disaster but 2 days later they're doing just fine. I might switch to a CMH light in the near future.
Steady trucking. I switched to a 315W CMH light a couple days ago and loving it so far. The Kalashnikova is still easily the largest plant and is pushing out a shit ton of bud sites, I've removed some of the bottom ones. Critical Auto #2 is still looking really flimsy in structure. I think this is mostly due to them getting less light as auto's. They would've certainly benefited from at least a few weeks more with 18h light. Critical Auto #1 is a bit sturdier. But it's mainly an experiment anyway and my photoperiods are doing great.
Buds slowly forming here. They went another 5 days without water and did just fine, I think that is just about on the limit. Also had to switch up my nutrients a little since I ran out of the Coco Bloom. Very fruity smell in the tent, the Critical's have a fruity scent, the Kalashnikova is more dank and the Jack Herer has a nice unique smell. The grueling wait continues.
Steady trucking. The tent is kind of crowded, the Kalashnikova has these long branches and is falling over already. Still many weeks out though. Looks like the smallest Critical plant is going to finish first, I already took a couple sample buds off it this week since I was dry lol. The next couple weeks should be more exciting.
Slowly getting there. These guys are taking their time. Critical Auto #2 looks just about ready but I'm waiting for her to bulk up a little more. The trichs on the top buds are already at around 30% amber, but they look slim. I snipped off a couple top buds to have something to smoke on 4/20. They're drying right now in a hanging shoebox at the top of my grow tent. The lower buds are still developing so I left most of the plant to mature a little more. I have 2 more weeks to give these guys, hopefully they'll finish up in that time.
This is week 10 of flowering instead of week 9 that's in the timeline.
