I don't know exactly what the origins are, so here's a new Zamnesia season.
We are in the middle of winter and despite growing in an area that isn't the warmest in Europe, it's really cold now. It's 16-18 degrees Celsius in the house and we need to bring the temperature of the propagator growbox between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius.
So we first placed a layer of those 1 cm thick "rubberized" floors that are used for gyms, they are easily found on Amazon and are very useful for insulation.
Then a heated resistance mat and then the closed propagator on top. Inside with our seedlings and the light on at minimum 20% we reached 24 degrees, not bad in fact the germination is proceeding very well.
100% opening of the seeds in water and almost all of them are opening in our biodegradable peat pots.
----- Our DO SI DOS F1 Hybrid Auto were born really quickly. About 24 hours in water and the two seeds had hatched, another 24 hours in soil, and off they went, born on 01/12/2024 on our identity card we have this date. Special signs, very cute, one had a small placenta problem but the father solved it immediately.
In a Indica Dominant probably running in AWC, let’see the results.
WARNING: Placenta Problems ---- ALWAYS look very carefully at the seedlings, if the seed or the placenta prevent the opening of the cotyledon leaves the plant dies after a while. Remove it delicately as if it were a condom or almost. I apologize for the example but it gives the idea, remove slowly and delicately please.
WARNING: If you choose biodegradable pots, choose the largest possible ones and not paper/cardboard ones, there is peat which is the main component of most of the soil we use.
If you want to avoid transmitting vibrations to your neighbors I recommend you install one of these gym floors under your growboxes, I did it and I also feel safer not to disturb. They are easily found on Amazon in different thicknesses, I took a gym model that is assembled like a puzzle, they are also found in children's shops, they are those floors that are assembled to make children play safely, or to train and to avoid vibrations from equipment or of any kind.

The Do Si Dos F1 Hybrid Automatic, did not start off well, they are a bit with the leaves gathered on themselves, but we are very confident of a fiery continuation, they have spoken very well of them and now that they take a little more nutrients you will see how they will go.
Growing projects for autoflowering plants ----- As for autoflowering plants I really love preserving the Main Cola. So I will try to make or grow the plants well or badly without affecting the main cola. Nowadays topping on autoflowering plants is very accepted but it is not my favorite thing to transform a baby born to finish in 10 weeks into a baby that finishes in 14, I say at this point I do photoperiodic. But in periods of people who only grow autoflowering everything is permitted for goodness sake if you want to do it, do it I will not be the one to stop you. Also because the results are excellent nothing to really discuss about anything except time.
All this to tell us that I recommend for example fimming on plants that tend to grow tall to give power to the lateral branches, LST as much as you want, I don't like too much, spread me out, I need space. HST and splitting are with experience. These are my tips not the absolute truth please do not mistake me for a great sage holder of the truth I speak as I see it.
The first week went only with Power Roots 1 Ml/l and Pure Zym 1 ml/l from now on we will start with ALga Grow. The plants were transplanted shortly after germination because the biodegradable pots were very small. The soil is Plagron Pro Mix 100% organic renewed with 30% new soil and 20% Perlite added. (Pro mix does not have perlite but is airy, we added it anyway)

Our Do si Dos F1 Hybrid Autoflowering from Zamnesia are in great shape at the moment, they had a bit of a hesitant start but now they are in line or even better than others. They have done so well this last week (I love when they start like a rocket after having fueled up with fertilizers) that we have already reached the good internode for topping autoflowering plants which if you want to do it guys it should be anticipated as much as possible as I explain below. The other one will fly away straight to preserve the main cola which is the main dilemma of topping. The first question you have to ask yourself when topping is, Are you ready to give up the main cola?
Applied Techniques - Given the numerous requests from growers, we decided to show you what happens when applying topping + Lst to autoflowering plants. It is very important to anticipate it as much as possible, autoflowering plants go into flowering at about the 5th intenod, you have to anticipate that moment to give the plant the chance to vegetate as much as possible. In general, when you see that there are two good lateral branches you can do topping, they will go into veg as much as possible and you will have a split plant, I have seen very beautiful results, especially in warm periods in which the plant tends to vegetate a lot, in winter we could have a bit of dwarfism but with a lot of resin for sure.
So I cleaned everything and cut at the top leaving only the main growth line, called Main Lining, the florets will be lowered during growth and the plant will eventually be like "split" in the main line with the various branches.
On photoperiodic plants, however, we will do topping repeatedly, which is not recommended with autoflowering plants so as not to lengthen the times of plants born to finish in 10 weeks too much.
The second week (including a few days of germination) we gave Power Roots 1 ml/l, Pure Zym 1 ml/l, Sugar Royal 1 ml/l, Alga Grow 3 ml/l -

Here we are at day 27, remember that we planted two plants per strain, we are between the third and fourth week for the larger plants (which will be worked with topping x2 and then Main Lining) and between the first and second for the smaller ones that will grow free to show off their magnificent main cola at the end.
I made this choice to give the friends of Zamnesia and the growers who use their fantastic seeds the chance to see the difference between a plant grown straight and one grown with the help of various techniques that will change from Autoflowering to Photoperiodic.
Our Do si Dos F1 Automatic has undergone the first Topping, so now we have created our two small buds that we are trying to gently lower, before the lignification until they are more or less parallel to the ground.
The thing is working relatively well because this plant has a low internode distance and it is not very easy to work in micro and it lignifies very early, if we do this work we must work delicately on the fresh branches. The metal arquettes should be plasticized, they are coming to me.
As for fertilizers, I kept a little low for this reason, during topping the plant slows down and by slowing down all that nitrogen in the table is useless, but only while you are topping not before, in fact on some I have some absolutely solvable deficiencies but you never stop learning as you can see.
In winter I would like to point out another thing, the plant drinks much more slowly and maybe sometimes it dries out in three days, by doing so we are giving less fertilizer and creating possible spaces for deficiencies.
She has shown some signs of deficiency but it is all recoverable.

We have passed the month and we are madly in love with all our autoflowering plants, we have two per strain, one worked with a mainlining adapted according to the characteristics of the plant and one that grows straight, we can't easily give up the main cola.
For now we will show you those worked with the techniques that are more interesting to see and later planted earlier to make them finish more or less together with those that will grow straight and fast.
Our Do SI Dos worked with the Main Lining is taking on a bonsai appearance that we don't mind at all. This is due to the fact that it is a plant with a low internodal distance, it tends to lignify very quickly because this distance is short and therefore you have to be very delicate. We have succeeded and the plant really looks good, it is small but in flower it will be really beautiful to see.
So topping at the third internode, main lining, no pruning until the third internode and topping them so we have multiplied the buds adequately.
The application of the techniques is a delicate moment also for fertilization. The topping slows down the growth of the plant a bit and does not make it require all that Grow fertilizer that is normally recommended. So you have to go really slow and understand when to reduce the nitrogen. Better to prepare the soil with fertilizers to mix with the soil probably. The problem is sweeping now that it is going into flowering, the plant has shown the first fluff, declared the sex, and the fertilizer will be of short use indeed. You have to swell.
In any case, everything is under control and I will demonstrate it to you during the flowering phase. Wait for the Uncle BreadandBuds and see what he does.
Remember the cold temperature makes the girls absorb food much more slowly than in summer so be careful to give the right amount and to dry the plant in maximum 2 days or you risk imbalances.

Here we are at the magic moment, the first hairs are coming out of the internodes and here and there, our Do Si DOs F1 Automatic reveals its sex and of course like all Zamnesia plants I will be the father of two beautiful girls.
One is growing straight but I will show it to you later because I had so much fun making this one you see in the photo is a sort of bonsai worked with Topping at the beginning, then LST to create a main lining for three internodes, then anchoring topping and last on the lateral growing branches. Really pretty I can't wait to see it in flower

Our little Do Si Dos has started to flower, the main lining has given it a very nice bonsai look, there are a good number of buds that are coming up.
The plant is an exemplary with a very short internodal distance, the mini brunches were growing and becoming lignified quickly.
It probably won't produce a lot of grass but it will be very beautiful to look at, full of resin and flower quality for sure.

Do Si Dos is one of Zamnesia's favorite strains, this time we grew it in the F1 Hybrid Automatic version and we have two plants.
The one you see in most of the photos that was worked with a main lining and due to its characteristics of low internodal distance and the slightly cold climate it remained in Bonsai style. It will not be a huge production but from the structure and the start of flowering we are ready to bet that it will be beautiful.
Of the other one left to grow straight I will only put a few photos in the growbox and as soon as it is ready however it will have the full service like the others, the plants worked with the techniques have stolen a bit of the scene from the plants left to grow straight which are obviously finishing a bit earlier.

In small barrels there is good wine, says a classic proverb from my home country and our two Do si Dos naturally branded Zamnesia seem to fit this proverb perfectly.
Small and beautiful like two very beautiful girls, it often happens I have a weakness for short and pretty girls.
The smallest one was worked with a topping to create a mainfold and then main lining. Being a plant with a low internodal distance it ended up becoming a kind of bonsai which to tell the truth we don't mind at all very cute and effective.
The worked plant left growing straight is practically ready and. we are flushing it with industrial quantities of water because it arrived a bit loaded at the end.
The shape is very very beautiful like the structure of this plant for real.
