KurtHighgrade Hi fellow gardeners!
Welcome to an organic grow adventure with the phantastic COOKIES GELATO of Royal Queen Seeds! I liked Biscotti very much and hope that this one will top it a tip bit cause i'm on a mission to find and grow the strongest strains this planet has to offerπ
1g/W is the minimum aim, let's see if 1,5 are possible with intensive use of LST technics
May everything go well this time, i had a major (probably fungus-) problem a few weeks ago and had to kill all my beloved plants.
I couldn't figure out which fungus, the symptoms were similar to fusarium or verticillium. But i found no signs inside the stem or at the roots.
Hoping that the desinfection has been done well enough i restarted this endeavor here at GROWDIARIES with a new alias, new strains and new motivation.
Maybe i'll complete my first diaries now and can carry on with my missionβΊοΈ

Happy growing π

1:
Sowing, 12h in water then transplantation into 0,5l pots
Soil mixture:
Two parts CANNA Seedmix, two parts BioBizz light mix, one part perlites
2-7: only tabwater
8: Great White Trichoderma, Root juice, Purolyt as
a foliar spray
10: Germination days are almost over, first serrated leaves are showing up
KurtHighgrade Hi, everything's fine and looking good after the second transplantation.
Compared to the other seed companies in that room the RQS plants are the weakest which is no surprise to me. Out of five seeds only one made the cut and will get a large fabric pot (100l).
The two plants on the pictures will stay in much smaller ones, i'm not sure which size it will be in the end.

KurtHighgrade Hi, the plant in the 100l fabric pot has a strong grow with a sturdy main stem. Had to work it for quite some time before bending it 95Β°. Luckily it didn't break!
Sidebranching is rather vertical, intense LST in the next weeks will change that.
Leaves got a dark green colour without any signs of over- or underfeeding.
I decided to keep one more and transplant her into a 55l fabric next week, her sidebranching is much bigger.

KurtHighgrade Hi, here are pics before and after scrogging!
Everything's fine with the plants, exponential growth has started.
The reaction to the 17/7 lightcycle switch is good: internodial spacing gets shorter and stress management seems to be better
With these shorter internodial spacings the target of 1.2 -1.5g/W stays possible ππ
The shorter plant has been topped.
A second scrog net will be put up next week to controle the horizontalisation better, there should be a string every 5cm.

KurtHighgrade Hi, ready to flip in 3 - 5 days.
Very/too sturdy strain, not good for training.
Growth rate is not too high, could be better.
I would say typically for RQS but I haven't grown many strains from them so I'll keep quiet. To me RQS is like a backyard breeding club with high end advertisment and nothing more. But now I keep my mouth shut and just await flowering...

KurtHighgrade Hi, Tarzan would be delighted to see my trees, i guess. So jungly! But most of the leaves will vanish step by step till harvest.
Flipped to 11/13 and everything's fine.
11/13 will produce a higher quality, a better stone than 12/12, highly recommended by some expert breeders and canna-nerds. Anything less than 12/12 seems to trigger our beloved plants not only to produce more but also different biochemical compounds and to express more of their genetic disposition (same with enhanced UV levels and infrared).
You might harvest a little bit less than with 12/12 but still be able to produce dreamlike quantitiesπ
In case you ever want to win a real contest and not only a virtual one, 11/13 is the key.
Aladdin Kush is stretching much more than Notorious THC and Cookies Gelato.
Of cause more defoliatian work has to be done........ i'm very lazy sometimesπ€·π½ββοΈ (most of the time)
Due to Purolyt humidity can be kept at highest levels during the complete flowering circle without any mold or budrot, this morning the VPD has been at 0.9, quite optimal for the first flowering weeks.
Enough of that nerd speachπ§βππ

KurtHighgrade Hi, the stretch is moderate and still going on! Everything's looking good!
Ready for lift upπ
The Cookies Gelato from RQS seems to be a slow but very strong growing plant. One of 'em had to take several hits by falling ventilators and thrived quite well.

KurtHighgrade Hi, everything's fine, the plants are healthy!
No signs of overfeeding can be seen and the bud growth rate increases.
Thd VPD is slightly too high sometimes (it is too early for 1.3) but still okay.
It's not easy to controle it these days with less foliage.
And there's still too much of it.
A new ventilation and filter system and a trellis has to be installed at the weekend - I hope it won't be too difficult to get it done without touching and damaging the plants π

KurtHighgrade Hi and sorry for the delay!
Both phenos are very resinous but the buds are not half as dense as wanted.
Very leafy and fluffyπ
I write this here on day 55 and there are already 5% amber trichomes. So i will start chopping today, i guess.
Overall i'm not happy or satisfied with this strain from RQS although the smoke might be pleasing in the end.
Happy growingπβοΈ
Buzz an terps are good on both plants. Only little variation. I had to rate this strain low because of the very small yield and underdevelopment of most buds. This has been the smallest yield i ever had. From week 14 on to the end i knew that i was growing genetical trash and i cannot recommend Cookies Gelato from RQS although the buzz is okay. It's a daytime smoke for experienced headz, suitable for wake and bake.
Buzz 8/10, Terps 9/10, Yield 1/10
thanks for the tip mate! I'm planning very intensive LST and scrogging the next days and think it will have the same effect. But i'll take your advice and will top one of them since you seem to be some kind of expert on CG as your pics tell quite clearlyπ cheers man
CG all the way m8.. U will be amazed U will see ;)
btw if u have the net to put would be good so u dont get "holes" in between....more yield ;) happy grow cheers
@AutoGOAT, πππ€£π€£ no more questions! On another weed platform i stated the hypothesis that these guys are breeding next too a nuclear power plant. I wanted to give them a last chance with these free seed pack that i got from them (as a reperation!!).
Check out my harvest report next week. It might get deleted soon after publishingπ
