Introduction - Week 03 Summary - Ensign's log, stardate 9992.0, What a grow week! Quite a bit got done and growth has been all around incredible! Reset the main grow tent. Also reset the 5-gallon pots and got the 20-gallon fully hooked up to the auto-watering before transplanting all the solo cup phenos. Wow growth has been green and all around healthy all week! Completely stoked with growth in both tents and plan to take clone cuttings soon. Onwards Ensign to next week! Time to reset the main 4x4 tent! --- Removed the Garlic Budder #1 and the original #2 stalks from the tent. --- Removed all of the pots except the 20-galllon. --- Also took down the bungie trellis netting. --- Removed the PVC scrog frame --- Swapped the placement of both oscillating fans. This is mainly because one of the two fans (AC Infinity CloudRay S6) is stuck on 10 (button does not seem to be responding). Now the fan is placed up and point upwards towards the light. --- Also wiped the walls of the tent with EM5 (1 to 1 with RO water). --- Moved both the drip ring and soil sensor from the old 5-gallon pot (previously Garlic Budder #4) --- Placed a solo cup into the center of the pot. --- Vacuumed and wiped down the tent’s floor with EM5. --- Outside the tent, - [14:32]: Took both 5-gallon pots and removed the straw mulch. --- Also evenly broke up the root balls and mixed the soil. Added a third empty pot and evenly distributed the soil amongst all three (about 2/3 full now). ------ Added 2 (full) solo cups of BuildASoil Worm Castings to each pot. --- Mixed the worm castings into the top 4-5 inches of soil. --- That’s about it for the re-amending. - [14:43]: Time to top off and fill the pots with fresh soil! ------ Added enough BuildASoil 3.0 Potting soil to fill each pot. --- The fresh soil from an unopened bag was surprisingly moist and almost felt damp. Mothers are thriving and have exploded with growth! --- Wow! Both the Gorilla Goat seedlings and Garlic Budder clones look absolutely incredible! --- Today is definitely transplant day! --- More to do! Keep going! - [18:43]: Checked the Ecowitt soil moisture sensor data: ------ 34% - [CH01 FP5 - Garlic Budder #4] ------ 37% - [CH02 GR7 - Original Garlic Budder #1] ------ 30% - [CH03 GR7 - Original Garlic Budder #2] ------ 43% - [CH04 GR7 - Garlic Budder #2] ------ 41% - [CH05 GR7 - Garlic Budder #4] --------- Veg: 38% - 45% | Flower: 45% - 55% --------- General: 30% [Dry] | 45 - 60% [Moist] | 70% [Wet] - [18:56]: Filled a pump sprayer with 2 cups of RO water. ------ Added a pinch of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60] --- Gave the sprayer a good shake before spraying the entire solution onto the original #1’s straw mulch. - [19:06]: Repeated this process again for the original #2 and #4 pheno. --- Focused mainly on the straw. - [19:09]: Filled the pump sprayer with 3 cups of RO water. ------ Added 1/64tsp of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60] --- Gave the sprayer a good shake before spraying the entire solution onto the original #2’s straw mulch. - [19:13]: Time to top the mothers! --- Using a pair of trimmers, gently removed a good 4-5 inches of top growth. --- Also defoliated a few lower leaves a bit. --- Mulched the trimmings. --- Back in the 4x4 main tent, - [19:38]: Adjusted the scrog frame. --- Using some belt loop straps, gently angled the front of the scrog frame upwards. --- Nice! Now it’s a whole lot easier to move around inside the tent. I’ll lower the frame back down once the girls get larger. - [20:08]: Okay time to transplant all 4 phenos! --- Going to transplant both Gorilla Goat seedlings along with both clones of Garlic Budder. --- Let’s go! - [20:11]: Gently removed the solo cups from each fabric pot leaving a perfect hole. ------ Sprinkled 1/8tsp of Great White, --- Dusted the sides of the hole. --- Also sprinkled a bit around the top soil. --- Great! Time to transplant! --- It’s been two days since all phenos were watered. - [20:19]: Gently flipped Gorilla Goat #2 upside-down which dropped straight out of her cup. --- Had to squeeze the cups a bit more than usual. --- Wow! White roots looked incredibly healthy! As far as root structure, lots of healthy fish-boning going on! Even have root hairs on the roots. Personally, never seen such healthy roots from a solo cup. Shout out to Rasta Jeff and these vigorous genetics! Just incredible! --- Did not break the root ball up or anything. - [20:21]: Gently placed her into the pre-inoculated hole of the 20-gallon pot. --- Pressed and evened out the top soil. - [20:22]: Repeated this process for the Gorilla Goat #1 pheno. --- Roots looked just as healthy as the #1 pheno! Wow! Although not as much growth. This is probably because of the rough start in the cotton pad (damnit Ensign). --- Placed her into the front 5-gallon fabric pot. - [20:25]: Next was the Garlic Budder OG#1 pheno. --- Woah! Root structure looks a lot different, but wow roots have exploded! --- Placed her into the middle 5-gallon Grassroots fabric pot. - [20:28]: Now for the Garlic Budder OG#2 pheno. --- Roots look even better than the first pheno! Wow! --- Placed her into the back 5-gallon fabric pot. --- All of the plants today were stuck in their solo cups so this could be a sign of good health? Or old cups? I dunno. --- Anyways! - [20:36]: Using some BuildASoil Organic Barley Straw, ------ Covered the top soil of each pot with straw. --- Added a bit more than I usually do and made sure to completely cover all visible soil. - [20:55]: Added the Ecowitt soil meters into the 5-gallon pots. --- Firmly pressed each meter in as deep as it would go. --- Looking good! Will sync and rename the soil sensors later. --- Time to water! --- Going to give 4 cups of wetting solution each for the initial transplant watering. - [21:13]: Filled a pitcher with 16 cups of RO water. --- Added 1/16tsp of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60] --- Added 1/4tsp of Horticultural Aloe --- Added 1/4tsp of Horticultural Coconut --- Added 1/2tsp of Mycrobe Complete --- Added 1/2tsp of WDG3000 Extra Strength BTI (Bacillus Thuringiensis, subspecies Israelensis) --- Mixed the solution and poured 4 cups straight into a pump sprayer. --- Misted Gorilla Goat #2’s straw mulch with the wetting solution in the 20-gallon pot. --- Repeated this process for each 5-gallon pot. - [21:55]: Done! --- Took my time and tried to go as evenly as possible. - [22:02]: Poured 2 cups of RO water straight into the pump sprayer and misted the straw mulch of Gorilla Goat #2 (in the 20-gallon). --- Looking good my ladies! - [22:12]: Within the AC Infinity App, --- For the Main Tent [4x4] controller, --- Adjusted the 'Vegetative [18/6]' Schedule for the grow light. ------ Increased the MAX from 1 to 2 - [22:18]: Took PPFD readings. --- Gorilla Goat #1 was around 166 μmol/m²/s which gives a DLI of 10.76 mol/m²/d under an 18/6 light cycle --- Gorilla Goat #2 was around 175 μmol/m²/s which gives a DLI of 11.34 mol/m²/d under an 18/6 light cycle --- The FC-6500 is now utilizing around 203.3W (at intensity 2 out of 10). - [22:24]: Took the weekly height and light distance measurements. ------ Gorilla Goat #1 was about 4.75" tall. ------ Gorilla Goat #2 was about 5" tall. ------ Gorilla Goat #1 was about 47.5" away from the grow light. ------ Gorilla Goat #2 was about 52.5" away from the grow light. - [23:05]: Synced and changed the Ecowitt soil moisture sensor data: ------ 56% - [CH01 FP5 - Gorilla Goat #1] ------ 51% - [CH02 G20 - Gorilla Goat #2] ------ 66% - [CH03 GR5 - Garlic Budder OG#1] ------ 48% - [CH04 FP5 - Garlic Budder OG#2] ------ 49% - [CH05 GR7 - Garlic Budder OG#1] ------ 49% - [CH06 GR7 - Garlic Budder OG#2] ------ 53% - [CH07 GR7 - Garlic Budder #2] ------ 53% - [CH08 GR7 - Garlic Budder #4] --- Also made sure to update the watering triggers for the WittFlow auto-watering system. ------ Changed the ON trigger to: --------- When CH2 soil moisture is under 30% ------ Changed the OFF trigger to: --------- When CH2 soil moisture is over 34% --- As growth continues to get larger, will gradually increase the moisture average. - [23:13]: Checked the humidifiers. --- Tanks are still full and no leaks found. --- Wow what a day! --- Grow up nice and strong my ladies! --- Maximum warp. Going to continue to fine-tune over the next few weeks. --- Oh! Increasing the overall soil moisture has been a huge game changer! --- In past grows, I’ve been keeping my general moisture levels around 30% and would water around 25% which apparently was too dry. --- Increasing just 10% makes a huge difference! Both phenos are staying relatively squat whereas the Garlic Budder phenos are more on the stretchy side. --- The best part is, aside from watering RO water and saponins, haven’t really done anything. --- Living soil is the way to grow! - [19:37]: Checked the Ecowitt soil moisture sensor data: ------ 39% - [CH01 FP5 - Gorilla Goat #1] ------ 39% - [CH02 G20 - Gorilla Goat #2] ------ 45% - [CH03 GR5 - Garlic Budder OG#1] ------ 41% - [CH04 FP5 - Garlic Budder OG#2] ------ 40% - [CH05 GR7 - Garlic Budder OG#1] ------ 34% - [CH06 GR7 - Garlic Budder OG#2] ------ 38% - [CH07 GR7 - Garlic Budder #2] ------ 41% - [CH08 GR7 - Garlic Budder #4] --------- Veg: 38% - 45% | Flower: 45% - 55% --------- General: 30% [Dry] | 45 - 60% [Moist] | 70% [Wet] - [20:55]: Adjusted the height of the auto-watering reservoir. --- Raised the tank up a good 7-8 inches. Now the tank sits just under the lung room’s exhaust fan. --- This should increase the PSI a bit more. Was noticing that the watering system was barely dripping. --- Also made a few more extra holes in the drip ring. --- Water flow is now a lot more even. - [21:14]: Filled a pump sprayer with 4 cups of RO water. ------ Added 1/64tsp of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60] --- Gave the sprayer a good shake before spraying the entire solution onto Gorilla Goat #1’s straw mulch. - [21:20]: Checked the 3x3 veg tent. --- Looking good! --- Garlic Budder mothers are vegging along and looking great! Growth is green and the canopy is nice and even. - [21:24]: Filled a pump sprayer with 3 cups of RO water. ------ Added 1/64tsp of Quillaja Saponaria Extract [60] --- Gave the sprayer a good shake before spraying the entire solution onto the original #2’s straw mulch. - [21:31]: Repeated this process again for the #2 pheno. --- Focused mainly on the straw. --- Checked the humidifiers. --- Tanks are still full and no leaks found. --- Nice! Another grow week done! --- Plan to order more worms soon. With the auto-watering, the 20-gallon should be perfect for them. --- Also plan to take cuttings from both Gorilla Goat phenos soon to cycle into the veg tent. --- These genetics are growing incredibly well from seed but curious how cloning will go. --- Onwards Ensign! Engage! [END OF WEEK 03]
