3rd week hasn't been so great for these girls. I have to admit my own skills are to blame for their turbulent week. I haven't calibrated my PH pen in a little while and noticed yellowing, spotting, rusting, twisting etc. Quite a few symptoms which made me check environment with a closer eye. I realised I've been having to add much more pH down into my reservoir to reach the desired range. Well hey presto the ph pen was 0.7 in the minus. So my girls have been getting 5.0-5.3 ph feed for a short time. I've now got that issue resolved and leached the coco tonight with 1.2EC / 5.9PH nutrients. I'm hoping a handful of those throughout the week will de-stress and get these girls back on track. Well one major positive this week is I think I may have discovered a very rare pheno. The bud structure, density, frost and smell are all Grade A! The smell is the real gift. I've never smelled anything as strong in my life. Sour limes is the biggest understatement ever wrote. It smells exactly like the green Starburst sweets! I really hope it keeps this smell and taste in the coming weeks. I also think these will be ripe in record time. Very compact dense buds with lots of resin already. A friend looked at them and guessed they were around week 5 flower. I have to agree they look supercharged. I'm in no rush with this grow however and will let them take all the time they need in order to really gauge their potential as a mother. I've reversed a flower back into veg and will be using her as a cuttings plant in a future diary. More pictures mid week!

Please take a quick look at my last few photos. One of the plants is flowering despite being on 20/4 light schedule. Can anyone advise what could cause this? Mabey I have a rogue auto in the tent.

hey ICP, you're the second person this has happened to that i've seen. Only genetics can cause this, not grower "error" as it were so dont blame yourself , blame the genius guys at the seedbank you bought these beans in for switching them out for an auto. On the plus side you have a grow diaries mystery on your hands now. Guess the strain ! it could literally be anything ... Hope this helps ! πŸš€

Yo! Need advice on what could cause a major PH differential between the nutrient solution and the runoff. I'm making my usual 70 litre bucket up and not adding any PH down. Feeding 1.6ec and 6.4 ph the runoff is measuring in at 1.8ec (good). 5.2ph (bad). Why?? Each fed over 20L.

Hey ICP, what happened is the salt build up has made the coco coir acidic especially when it's dry, try keeping it more moist maybe ? Either that or just keep doing what you're doing until it stabilises and it cant buffer itself out. Hope this helps ! by the congrats on a rocking harvest πŸš€

Don't worry man. Anybody can grow weed, it's take a good specialized grower to grow a good one. I'm growing for 7 years now and still have problems here and there. It's a demanding plant but it gives you so much back..Good luck a head, I'll follow

@psyych, some lovely looking plants mate you should be very proud. I'm still learning and making mistakes but hoping to have issues ironed out in the next attempt.

@TheIceCreamParlour, i just use ph strips no calibration, doesnt break costs 60 cents, what's not to like lol

@TheIceCreamParlour, my basic (unsolicited lol) understanding is that it's all about a slow dry right, so the "optimal conditions" suggested for a slow dry will do just that : dry it real slow to just above 50RH that alone will take 12-14 days "optimally", beyond that you either jar and humidify or let it dry out and it's basically ready. What i do is just dry as long as possible then jar, currently my record is 10 days drying then jarring lol just my basic understanding of the long drying and ready versus quick drying (5-7) and cure approaches... What they dont tell you is that the outter dry is much less important than the "inner of the bud" rh, like i measured 35% outter and like 68 inner the buds, which is still fine to jar in my brief experience. Am i making sense? does any of this matter? πŸš€

@CRiSPrGrow, hey, yeah man it's a shame. I really thought my drying room was at optimum conditions but it just wanted to be spongy. I'm still learning every day. Constantly reading things like the grow bible, Jorge Cervantes. God knows how long my ph pen has been out but I've thrown it away and invested in a really expensive PH tester that should be much more reliable. I'm hoping this means I can give these haze berry a perfect medium for the final 2 weeks. The colas are huge bud so look a tad soft so another 2 perfect weeks on nutes and they should fatten up.

hey man , you're the second person i see with an auto instead of a photo... you didnt buy them from canuk seeds did you? that's what the other grower did, that's why I asked. πŸš€

TheIceCreamParlourcommented6 years ago
@CRiSPrGrow, hey! No this is a gift grow from royal queen seeds directly. It was James who asked me to do a diary for them and sent me the seeds. All packed in a fem packet. I'm thinking I've got a rogue auto seed. Not too much of a problem but I did want to veg them out a bit longer.

Nice growth in a short period of time.
TheIceCreamParlour
TheIceCreamParlourcommented6 years ago
@GreenHouseLab, yeah they are quick in veg and the stems are extremely thick already. I have a blackberry vegging along side them and it's not even half the size. I really think the Co2 and full spectrum from the CMHs pushes the early growth.
