Mephisto Genetics Limited Edition Grow

I purchased some new Fox Farm Lightwarrior seedling soil and I think I've already made my first mistake. I should have purchased a 1 cu ft. bag of Fox Farm Happy Frog soil and filled the bottom half before I poured the seedling soil into the 3-gallon pots. I'm not planning to transplant these into larger pots, so hopefully, that's the only mistake I make.

I can already tell that this garden is going to be wonderful. The seeds popped within 24 hours of soaking between 2 plates. The taproot headed straight down into the new Fox Farm Light Warrior soil. I think they've been loving life since I've been spraying them down with PH perfect H2O ever so often during the 20 hours of light they received each day. GO CANNABIS PLANTS!

The Skystomper seedling seems to not be growing as fast or as rapidly as the other twenty-four day old sisters.

The Skystomper seedling still has some kind of issue that I'm not sure how to remedy as of yet. I've been utilizing a glass jar as a humidity dome over the Skystomper seedling so that it continues its healthy growth. The other seedlings didn't experience as much growth as I'd prefer, so I'm thinking that I'll start them on some Advanced Nutrients SensiGrow A & B as well as some Advanced Nutrients B-52 Fertilizer Booster this week.

I had another week of very minimal veg growth, which doesn't seem to hurt my spirit as much as I thought it would. This slow growth might be because I haven't given the plants nutrients as of yet, or this is because of the lack of humidity in my grow space. I felt very positive with the first couple weeks of seedling growth, but now I'm not sure what happened. I've compared everyone else's 28-day old from seed plants and I realized that mine are not quite cutting it, and this is going to mess with my abilities to LST them when they get a little bigger. I'm going to give them their first nutrient feeding tomorrow and I hope that with the added supplementation that they begin to explode with new growth.

I have added Advanced Nutrients to their weekly feedings. I even moved them into the grow tent where they're now under the 1000 watt LED until final harvest. I did notice a bigger growth week for all 3 plants once I started using the nutrients and especially now that they are under the brighter grow light.

I had to start training these plants while they are still in veg so that I could make sure that I'll get a good yield from the upcoming harvest. They really started growing like they should, once I started giving them more nutrients and let them grow under the more powerful LED lights. Note: I took another look at my pre-veg T5 light setup and I noticed they it only had one good tube left on. This means that my t5 light was only giving off 54 watts at best, but I do know that I've run that light for several hours and the bulbs must be bad by now. I when ahead and ordered some more T5 tubes so that I can continue with my next garden.

I have been working on Low-Stress Training for the 3 plants in my Mephisto Genetics garden. I started on this last week which was a bit late because they are in the pre-flower stage and have already shown it's sex by shooting up some pistils. I mixed in some Fox Farm Happy Frog soil and I also began bending the top colas over with some fly fishing line. The nutrient feedings have proved vital for these plants and they seem to be doing just fine now that I have them in training.

I've been able to notice the premium bud structure coming along this week. Today marked day 57 for their growth cycle, and it just happened to be total eclipse day in Colorado. I had to bring them out during the eclipse to make sure that they got to soak up those moon-blocked UV rays. I can’t wait to smoke some eclipse weed. : ) I decided to put Skystomper outside in the sunlight from 10 AM - 4 PM each day, to help spur some of its growth and development. I've noticed that this plant isn't doing as well as the last Skystomper I grew but hopefully, I have enough time to bring it back up to par. The Beary White has been trained properly and its beginning to become a true branchy bush with lots of possible colas. The pistils aren't shooting up as fast as the other 2 plants, and that's just fine with me. I'll have more time to get these branches stronger and larger for a bigger yield. I ending up doing Low Stree Training with fly fishing line and a couple of office clips and I have to say this method seems to be working quite well. I'm pretty happy with the Skylar White plant, even though it's not as branchy and as big as I really wanted it to be at this point. My last Skylar White was only a single cola, due to the fact that I didn't train it much at all. This plant did get a little bit of LST, but I think I lost the battle and now it's just going to keep growing naturally until harvest time.

I'm so happy to see that Beary White is doing so well. I am proud that I finally have an Auto strain that I can correctly train. The Skytomper and Skylar White have both been in the sunlight outside for many hours this past week.

I've been very fortunate to be able to get these plants in 4-5 hours of 80 °F bright sunlight each day. They smell amazing, and it's super nice to be able to get 3 entirely different aromas with each strain. The Beary White continues to branch out due to my dedicated Low-Stress Training. The Skylar White must be a different phenotype from what I've grown before. SW has such a big cola, that it's really hard to see where it's going to bulk up next. Skystomper is growing just like a Christmas tree and will most likely be the first that's ready for harvest.

So this week my hubris caught back up to me for taking the plants outside in the sunlight each day. I noticed a few aphids around the Beary White plant and as I looked under the larger fan leaves, I knew that I had a problem. First I went to get some ladybugs and then I grabbed some tomato leaves from my garden. I chopped up the leaves and let them sit in 2 cups of water overnight. I then let the ladybugs start to work on eating the aphid larva and then the next day I sprayed with the new tomato leaves mixture. I think it made some of the fan leaves wilt a bit. I did get some new Advanced Nutrients in and I've already given them one full feeding.

This week proved to be tricky. Usually, at this point, the plants are on easy to maintain because they only need time and a couple feedings per week. I ended up having to spray them down with Neem oil to completely remove all of the aphid larvae that remained under the larger fan leaves. The ladybugs were still doing their jobs so I decided to leave them alone. The Skystomper & The Skylar White plants look to be finishing soon, so I'll only give them water for the next week and a half. The Beary White plant still could use a few more weeks to harden those already super dense buds. I'll be getting a larger yield from the Beary White stain, which is great because it has that couch-locking indicia THCa that makes me feel so much better at the end of a long workday. Here's to the September and October harvests that are coming up quickly.

This week was pretty cool because I could see the buds on Beary White getting bigger and denser every single day. The leaf tip burn was going to happen, especially when I switched to feeding them 3 times a week. Now we're in flush, so it's just straight PH perfect H2O until the harvest. So that Grow Diaries would give this week a smile, I've gone ahead a put a 1 next to the nutrients even though they're in flush now. I've already removed the top colas on both Skylar White and Skystomper and hung them out to dry. Skylar White is smelling like bubblegum and it seems to get better and more fragrant by the day. Skystomper's buds look very different from the last time I grew it. The fan leaves are different and the buds aren't as covered with crystals as it was last time. I'll have some small lower buds dried and smoked in time for the harvest review coming up in the beginning of October.

She has a nice balance of resin coverage on both leaves and flowers. Flowers grow nicely compact and the quality is great. She is a lovely all-rounder in many aspects. -Effect - Strong, Happy, relaxed, but not too inda-couch. -Medicinal Benefits - Great strain for pain and stress relief.

This was a great plant to watch grow because it had such an odd buds structure. The top cola was a like a mutant giant bud that once trimmed, looked like a large dagger. I'm super happy to be able to have grown this strain again, and I'll continue to work with this genetic strain until I get it growing the way I want.

This is my go-to strain for taking a long bike ride or hike in the mountains. The Sativa qualities produce great energetic vibes that will have you ready to tackle all your goals for the day. I wish this plant had a bigger yield because I fear that I'm going to run out of Skystomper way too fast.
