Friday 15th February 2019 - germinated & planted - So, I've added the first week in early so I can maybe get some criticism on my first grow in a micro environment. This is my first ever grow, with organic products and tap water. I'm not after anything crazy but I'd like a good smooth first run. I'm just a little worried on how well I'm doing the germination process as everywhere I read have a different way of doing this. As most of my stuff is organic I thought the glass of water then soil method would be most viable, but what I've done is drop my seeds in room temperature water and just waited till then dropped to the bottom and once that was done I've then transferred then into their main pots. They've been in a darkish space with just an intake fan on keeping the temp and humidity around 22c/60h, I keep spraying the walls of the grow room and the top soil of the pots twice a day, it's now been 4 days and I'm wondering if this is all ok. Any help will be greatly appreciated. ******* 19/02/19 2 seeds are now seedlings with 1 more waiting to pop. I've now put a full 24 hour lighting on at 90cm above the plant tops. ******* 22/02/19 It's been exactly a week since I germinated and planted 3 seeds, of which I forgot to mention that 1 of them is Royal Jack but I accidently mixed the seeds together when germinated (haha classic) so it's a gamble for a week and with help from a great community I think I can say I'm off to a good start. I've not watered or added anything apart from spraying the walls and topsoil with leached tap water. Going by the dated pictures everything is growing fine apart from one of the plants stretching a bit, but with guidance I've lowered my light and hope the little babe will be comfy with that. I'm looking on adding a very light dosage of rootbastic with the first water maybe mid next week but my soil is still rather moist. ******* 24/02/19 Came home to 2 of the seedlings having toppled over but still facing the LED so I believe this must of happened early on yesterday, so I've dug them in a little deeper in their pots hoping they've been saved....there's no visible snap or damage but I'm a little dubious about the root system still being ok and intact from digging it in deeper. I've added pictures of how they are looking now. I believe the toppling is due to over stretching and needing a water. I've mixed 0.1ml of Atami Rootbastic with 1litre of water shared between the 3 pots for a little hydration. *******

This is my first time growing, so I'm very noob. I'm worried about 2 of my seedlings, one is rather stretched with drooped leaves and the other has a malformed 1st leaf. They are only 6 days old, should I be worrying?

Malformed 1st leaves happen, see my Dwarfen Lady diary. She had a strange growth pattern at first, but pulled through and developed to be the biggest girl in the box. So nothing to worry about ... yet. The stretching of the other one is a different matter. Looks like she is getting not enough light to me. I would lower the grow light by at least 30-40 cm. I tried to have a distance of 40-50 cm between light and plants, and that worked for me

26/02/19 It's now been a week since my 3 plants sprouted into this life, the seedlings are going very well apart from 2 seedlings toppling, hopefully I've saved them from digging them in deeper. One seems to have stunted though. Have fed them their first grow feed which was 0.5ml of Kalong Grow and 0.1ml of Rootbastic mixed into 1l of leached tapwater then divided into 3 parts each per pot. I'll do a mid-week update, nothing like the long read I wrote for the 1st week. Awesome shit, loving each day! ******* 03/03/19 Did a feed today as the top soil was looking a little dry, it's been 5 days since their last feed with nutrients 0.5ml Guanokalong Grow 0.1ml Rootbastic

05/03/19 Kept it simple, haven't done much apart from lower the light from 45cm to 40cm. Keeping the thermostat fan set to no higher than 25c Open the doors once a day and give a spray of water to the walls of the wardrobe 3 x daily The soil is still moist from a feed on the 03/05/19 so I'll just wait until the topsoil is dry by 3cm ******* 08/03/19 The plants were looking a little sad so I've watered them 1L nute loaded for each plant and started with some LST ******* 10/03/18 I'm very worried, something has happened and stunted the growth. I've also noticed rusty leaves on the older ones on all the plants. I'm thinking of doing a flush on all the plants and supplement with cal-mag hoping it will sort these baby's out. Doesn't look good

So, something has happened, thinking it's either a nute lock or cal-mag deficiency so thinking a flush and then no nute feed with cal-mag. Should I be worried? Is this at all save-able? I fed them with bites about 4days ago. Really don't know what to do

Hey there Red, yeah man of course it's saveable, veg is great because veg is veg and the plant will recover, eventually. So basically you have a standard calcium deficiency, even though you're in soil for two reasons. First, the light schedule is too intense so the plant is going into overdrive and it simply cant absorb enough calcium through its roots. Second, I see you're not checking the pH of the feed, this is going to lead to such problems , for example the rooting agent you're using is going to raise the pH of the soil and this will cause problems. The solutions are simple though, so no worries ! first get some cal mag and add it to the feed every now and then , use the cal mag as a spray 2ml / L . the spray will help the plant get better quicker because absorption through the leaves is much quicker than through the roots. And finally get some cheap pH strips so you can pH your waterings : you're aiming for 6.0 in soil. (pH of rain water is 5.5. ) By the way i wouldnt flush, a flush is actually a pretty stressful thing for a plant, there's no need. If anything you could reduce the light schedule to reduce the stress on the plant. One last thing: dont feed every time ! you should feed once every three waterings ! hope this helps ! 🚀

12/03/19 So there hasn't been a lot going on in terms of healthy growth. It seems I've been giving nutrients too often and that the pH of my water is too high (7.8) resulting in a Calcium defficiency and stunted/abnormal growth. Following some great advice from Bulbi to one of my questions. I've bought some Cal-mag and pH down to try and mitigate this issue, I've done the following :- : 1ml Cal-Mag to 1l of Water per plant : 2ml Cal-Mag to 1l of spray bottle to be used infrequently : I haven't pH reduced on this watering as I noticed the Cal-Mag slightly reduces the pH, so to not shock the plants I'll lower the pH marginally on the next 2 feeds untill it's at 6.5 : Raised the light to 45cm : Changed the lighting schedule to 18/6 Let's hope these few changes will bring these lil babys back to life! I'll post some mid-week pictures to show any difference.

20/03/19 Technically it's now their 4th week as I started a week early. They've now bushed out a bit and are getting taller with some possible cola sites on show :D after the last couple of weeks of not doing much and being incorrectly fed. I've corrected this and I'm now seeing some great results. Still no nutes as I fed them like buggery previously but I did a feed of Cal-Mag 0.1ml/l and Atami Rootbastic 0.1ml/l to a litre of pHed water for each plant on the 17th but they're feeling a little light already so will probably do a light feed mid week. ******* 21/03/19 Did a very light nute feed today, 0.1ml Guanokalong, 0.1ml rootbastic per 1 litre of pHed water per plant.

02/04/2019 So I'm most definitely into flowering and everything has been going great! Well, I think so. Not many issues apart from a little deficiency and odd dying leaves but I'm told its normal. Also the 2nd Bluematic has stayed stunted and bushy with rather small leaves, but where the cola is forming it looks alls ok, bless the lil cherub. I'm also getting some lush smells when I open the cupboard with little bud sites forming all over the place. I've lowered the light down so that it's 45cm from the top of my middle plant, it's the lowest optimum length for flowering stated by the light manual....I'm a little lost with this though but I hope that's right. I'd like to also say my thanks to the community keeping this place buzzing, you've helped me incredibly. Now, lets grow some sticky lovin'.... I've done their nute feed today :- 1ml/l Cal-Mag 0.125ml/l Atami Rootbastic - Slightly increased the dosage 0.15ml/l Guanokalong Grow - Weining the girls off of their grow nutes now 0.15ml/l Guanokalong Bloom - Slowly easing the girls into their Bloom nutes 35g Guanokalong Powder - Just a topsoil top-up as the powder I mixed in at the beginning would has all been used up by now

09/04/19 This week has been where I've noticed the most changes to the girls. They've grown in height rather well and even though they suffered shock in the past I think they're through the worst of it, with only one of them being a little shorter than the rest she's actually showing the most in 'bud sites' which look wicked. I've noticed this week that my nutrients (Guanokalong Grow and Bloom) don't contain any 'P' Phosphorus, I did premix my soil with Guanokalong Dung Powder which is full of P so I'm hoping that it'll last the grow (As per instructions), I'm probably going to ask a question on this if I start losing sleep over it -.- Anyway, I've been watering them every 2 days following a wet/dry cycle and nutrient feeding them every 3rd water. Today's feed I've stopped the grow feed for all plants and now on the bloom feed, still with Cal-Mag and Rootbastic every watering. I'll be making my nusery/veg stealth growdrobe this week to start a couple more.

16/04/19 Alot has been going on! She's stretched like buggery with lots of pistil/ly bud sites, I defoliaged a little bit because it's bushier than a unkempt beaver in there and also got rid of some non-needed nubbins along the branches. Contrary to this though, I've started to notice deficiency of sorts which I'm thinking is a phosphorous problem due to my nutes not actually having any in them, P was maintained by the guano I mixed in the soil from the very beginning but I feel that may have all been used up by now, so to fix this I bought some Palm Tree Ashs and sprinkled a cup over the topsoil. But boy o boy does it spike your pH levels!! I made sure the water i use for the next few feeds if pH'ed well around the 4-4.5 mark as it spikes the levels to ~9 This weeks feed consisted of :- 1 Cup (50ml) Guanokalong Palm Ash - sprinkled over the topsoil and watering through 0.2ml Guanokalong Bloom 0.2ml Atami Rootbastic - This is some awesome shit, I've even got the bottom of my fabric pots covered in thick roots 1ml Cal-mag - As always Per 1 liter of H2whooooaaaaa

24/04/19 It's not been a fun week for one of my Bluematics, she's now gone from a limey green to a deficiency on one side of new growth and now showing abnormal growth on a lower node, I've also noticed the pistils are all up and straight. Growth on her has seemed stunted and a bit sad, she also is taking up water a lot slower than the other 2 plants in the grow....oh the worries. I'm just going to water her like normal now since I think it's a potassium deficiency. If after this feed this week nothing improves then I'll flush her. As for the other Bluematic, she's doing pretty damn well, budding up and starting to frost up nicely, I've tried to do a macro but with basic tools I found it difficult. RB#2 is going to stay a little short but I'm propping her up a little higher and keeping her in the middle of the LED as she's doing the best. I just hope she doesn't start going like her sister.

It's been a bit of a rocky week for all the plants, things popping up all over the shop but I'm putting it down to being a noob. Light distances/intensity issues and plenty of upcurling leaves from being a proper wally with my nutes. Royal Bluematic #1 - She's had a bad case of Light Burn and it's explained below. I've also noticed this one 'moults' the most and I have quite a handfull of dead/deficient leaves per watering where the other 2 plants in the wardrobe barely drop, but I am at a loss with her (other than changing light height and intensity), I've kept her on her nute schedule as I don't beleive nutes are to blame. She's had it hard from the beginning so it could be that....a bit of a bride of Frankenstein hahaha, she's rather stumpy and very bushy with the main cola being quite chunky, again like the Royal Jack my Royal Blue is airy and whispy pistil node sites but plenty of them...why so long to thicc? the other Royal Blue is coming on rather awesomely....hence more pictures of her...sorry #1. I also had to do an autopsy on a branch, I kept wondering why it was looking so buggered and it was due to it being bent right over at somepoint snapping the branch quite high up making it hard to notice, sliced it off and squeezed the end of the branch together, closing it up and keeping it tight. Royal Bluematic #2 - Well....I'm in lurrrve, she's coming on fine, my lil shorty, budding up with thickness and fat cola, plenty of nodes and very sticky and smelly....Really not a lot long left on her I think? Trichs are not so cloudy yet so maybe a couple more weeks. I have gone and really messed up, the last of her main fan leafs on the cola has crisped and curled upwards which I think was due to being moved to the middle of the grow box and suffered PAR intensity overdose!! I've now moved her back to the side and hope for the best...Not a lot else to say for this one, I'll let the pictures do the talking. If you can see on the pictures, the leaves that face the middle of the LED are bleached and weathered. I've hightened the light and gave the LED rig a jig and got some more efficiency out of it in terms of height and PAR intensity, I'm still needing to purchase a PAR meter but I have learn't that this 600w does kick out some and if there's a plant directly below it then that's some light blasting down on the poor plant. With my next grow I'm only dealing with 2 plants so the light share will be much better and make much better use of said PAR :) As for the feed I've notched Guanokalong Bloom up to 0.3ml but keeping CalMag and Rootbastic the same now throughout the grow. I'm keeping the pH at 6.3 as they seem to like it. I'm hoping this week we'll start to see fatter buds and better leaves. Today's album played to them was 'Leftfield - Rhythm & Stealth'

09/05/19 Royal Bluematic #1 - She's stayed stumpy and bushy but you can't blame her though what she's been through (My poor judgements). Quite a lot of leaf coverage and nice node sites, but after some research on her ailments I can confirm she's had some major LED damage and a multitude of under/over-feeding of nutrients from a worried budtender....hey it is my first time ;p Overall she's hanging in there after losing a limb later on in life, her bud sites are most definitetly fattening now, getting sticky and starting to smell like her little sister (I feel slightly off writing that sentence) which is awesomely like their name, smelling very blueberry like with sweet 'mixed berries' undertones. Just like my Royal Jack, this one has a little longer than planned to go....which is smegging up my rotation. No worries though. Royal Bluematic #2 - THis babe is still crystalising like fuck, very swarovski crystal-esque if I do say so myself....hahahahaha. Anyway, I've still got her on a fresh water flush but now added Plant Magic's Flush solution, which is 5ml per week for the last 2 weeks, but due to growing autoflowers in soil, I have lowered this to 3ml to be safe this week and then 5ml the week after to which I will then harvest this babe.

So this one has hulked and looks pretty mental but it's all due to light damage and bud growing on bud. It's very resinous but hasn't got the smell anywhere near her sister (which was lush might I add). I've gave her one last feed before a possible start of flushing....her trichs are still majority clear :(
