Welcome to my WeedSeedsExpress Love Potion auto diary. Since I am growing thru Valentines Day, I decided to do a dreamy theme of love with wine, cheese and love potion.
Thank you Clarissa@WeedSeedsExpress for the opportunity to grow some of your exciting strains. For this diary I chose Love Potion as part of my Love theme for Valentines day.
I will be growing one plant in Happy Frog soil with bliss myco.
I started the first seed in a cotton pad January 1. Happy New Year 🎉 friends, growers and lovers of green. When 3 other seeds had a tail in the cotton pads, I moved all seeds to soil. Love Potion did not have a tail. During the week, other seeds popped out of the soil but not love potion. On January 10, there was still no growth, so I dug up the seed. It was completely black so I dug it out and immediately put another seed in the pot. Don't you just hate it when you plan your theme and the main character is late to the party.
Eureka, the second seed germinated on Sunday 12th. At the end of the day, i had to remove the seeds membrane to allow the seed to open. So Love Potion is a week behind her date night partners of Pink Rozay, and Blue Cheese.
I started seeds 1/1/25, just after the new moon on 12/30. Interestingly it was a rare black moon, the second new moon of the month. The 5 days following a new moon are the optimal planting times for above ground crops. I'm trying to follow Farmer’s Almanac on gardening by moon phases. I’ll try to remember to note lunar actions i future comments if they apply.

Love Potion autoflower grows into an cannabis plant consisting of 15% Indica and 65% Sativa. Love Potion strain also contains 20% ruderalis. Love Potion autoflower has been derived from: Love Potion #1 x Lowryder. Week 3 1/26- 2/1
Love Potion had her big spa day this week. Getting ready for the big day, She cant contain her excitement. She heard P. Mark (er) @Krisis' "son" was going to the dance and he is quite the showoff.
Love potion was topped, pinned and defoliated of 4 large fan leaves. She appreciated the gentle pinching rather than being cut with scissors. Pics show they are as big as my hand. After topping is 4 inches tall. I raised the lights to 30 inches above the plant. I switched from seedling to vegetative controls at the end of last week. I add 2 gallons of water to the T700 humidifier daily to keep the VPD in line.

Love Potion Auto Week 4 2/2-2-8
Love Potion Automatic is in still in veg. She was late to the party and now she’s just hanging around without flowers in her hair. Delay in flowering due to topping week 3 of veg.
She is growing about 1.5 inches a week. Slow compared to the other gals already in flower.
At the beginning of the week, she was 6 inches tall, Wed 7.5 and today 2/7 she is 9 inches tall.
I’ve moved the pins out to the edge of the pot. For future training, I must add some wires through the pot holes to keep the branches lower. I’ve spread the top out and a few limbs are taller than the others.
I reduced nutrients in the feed solution since Runtz and Pink Rozay are showing some purples/blues in the leaves. I added Green Sensation this week then read the instructions said add in 4th week flower. Love Potion Auto is an auto to be an 11 week flower from seed to harvest. If I wait till the 4th week, it will only be used for 2 maybe 3 weeks. Would that benefit the plant? So I think I will add some each time but a 25% strength. Calls for 4ml/g I will use 1ml. They are autos and I should be lowering the nutes anyway. Pinned more branches and lightly defoliatied. I add 2 gallons of water to the T700 humidifier daily to keep the VPD in line.
2/5 4 gal prep, each nutrient added at ½ of recommended amount. Making 4 gallons since I have 2 pots of carrots and Dill in the back. Fed 2 ltr each

Week 6
2/16-22 / Flower week 2

Love Potion is starting to form her buds, the buds are putting out a few more hairs. She is still adding leaves, so I did light defoliation and more LST pinning her limbs out as far as possible. She measures a bit over 24 inches wide. I have been watering all my gals 2 liters every 2 days. I watered on Thursday and on Saturday morning when I opened the tent, she was very droopy and dehydrated. No other gal looked this way. Shit did I kill her? This was stressful. Fingers crossed she doesn’t flip on me.
I don’t see nutrient issues on her.
Took pictures and moved the girls around in the tent. I also moved the carrots to the other tent with the veggie seedlings because Love Potion is getting so big.

Week 7 / Flower week 3
2/23-3/1
Week 7 flower week 4 Love Potion is in flower, the buds are puffing out with many white pistols. Trichomes are just starting to form Love Potion got her first defoliation removing fans and any bud sites and more pins added on 2/24. Since I have overfed my gals, this week I am trying to remove excess fertilizer from the planting medium by giving ph 6.5 water only. I am hoping since Love Potion is behind the other gals, I’ve addressed the over feeding issue and she will not show burnt tips and look pretty out her life.

Week 8 Flower 4
Love Potion is a difficult strain. My first seed failed to germinate; this one took more than the usual 2-3 days to pop soil. She is filling out her buds with fresh white hairs and trichomes are just beginning to form. With flushing last week, she now shows nutrient deficiency and apparently is a heavier feeder than the rest. The feed solution at half strength is not strong enough for her.
Love Potion and Pink Rozay are maturing slower than the rest. Each plant gets 2 liters every 2 days. I am resuming a half dose fertilizer schedule. She still needs probably a month and half before I’ll start flushing. This week the gals were fed 3/2, 4, & 6. Pics were taken on the 4th and 8th. Love Potion had her first defoliation in flower on Sunday 8th, when I defoliated the other gals, she was still in vegetation. I did her hair cut after Pink Rozay. I put on my gloves, got the alcohol wipe ready and started with the fans. Snip, snip she had many very small thin leaves. I hope this is genetic rather than sickness due to stress. There wasn’t any smell or stickiness. I double topped her and pinned her limbs down hard. The difficulty in germinating should have told me this girl was going to be difficult. Since she has been delayed in maturing, she will soon have more room in the tent after I harvest Runtz and Blue Cheese. That will allow her to be the diva she wants to be.
