Borberad Welcome to the world of Purple Madness – Our grow diary for Purple Urkle!
There are many ways to relax, but few are as stylish as with the legendary Purple Urkle from Zamnesia. This indica-dominant beauty is not only a feast for the eyes with its deep purple buds, but also a heavyweight when it comes to relaxation. If you're looking for a strain that gently pushes you into the couch while smelling of sweet grapes and berries, you've come to the right place!
In this diary, we document the epic (and hopefully successful) cultivation of this legendary strain – with all the highs, lows, and maybe even a surprise or two. Will it turn out as purple as promised? How much will it lay us flat after the harvest? And most importantly: Will we manage to keep everything smooth during the transition to flowering this time?
Join us on this exciting journey – hopefully with a healthy purple flower, a smooth grow, and a bountiful harvest at the end!
We're starting off with sources in 1% H202, then it's off to germinate in Jiffi, followed by a 4L fabric pot. The germination phase ends with the opening of the first true leaves. After a proper veg (totaling about 4 weeks), we'll switch to a 20L fabric pot. We’ll be watering with nutrient-rich osmosis water with an initial conductivity of about 20 micro Siemens, mainly using Hesi and Plagron, and for Cal Mag, we've opted for Xpert. Depending on the phase, the conductivity will range between 300 myS and 1900 myS, and the pH will be maintained between 5.8 and 6.3 throughout the entire period, with measurement inaccuracies of ± 0.1 already taken into account, so that at the beginning the set value is 5.9 and at the end of flowering it will be raised to 6.2.

Borberad Week 1
The little flower gets to move into the 4L fabric pot. The planting hole will be enriched with Dynomyco Mycorrhiza beforehand so that the nice fungi can provide the roots well.
Borberad Week 3
I'm excited!
The little flower is growing very quickly.
On day 17, symptoms of a Calmag deficiency appeared, but I think in this early phase it's more of a kind of lockout; let's see how it develops. For now, only distilled water is being used.

Borberad Week 5
Ppurple Urkle is growing and growing. The Fimming seems to have worked, but we'll have to wait for more details. It looks good anyway. Next week it will probably switch to flowering.
Day 33, time to repot. Off to 20l substrate.

Borberad During the week (Day 39), we switch to flowering and set it to 12/12. So we're already switching to flowering nutrients.

Borberad The week starts with slight undernourishment. The old leaves show dark spots, I think. It's potassium deficiency, so I'm adding 1.5ml of Canna Potassium Mono once.
For a few days now, we've supplemented our fabric pots with self-watering. (See photo) Just added a wick to the existing grid in the saucer, so now it can be watered from the bottom without the flower sitting in water. However, if possible, only pure water should be supplied from below. Somehow, the wicks seem to get salty and then stop working properly.

Borberad This week we need to remove a few leaves to give the shoots a bit more light and air. So far, there's really nothing to complain about. Urkel is doing well, and potassium does seem to have been the cause, at least all the new leaves have looked good since then and there are no deficiencies to be seen.

Borberad Purple Urkle is going to be a pretty little flower, especially the bronze tones at the leaf nodes. Let's see what the bloom brings!

Borberad Purple Urkle gives us beautiful colorful buds, but they seem a bit fluffy to us, so we will further increase the potassium and phosphorus content in the fertilizer with PK 13/14.

Borberad The buds are slowly getting thicker and denser and also slowly turning violet; the color actually originates in the trichomes and not in the foliage. Very pretty to look at!

Borberad The buds are slowly getting too heavy for the thin stems. Since we didn't use a SCROG net, we now have to work with stakes. We suspect that with proper LST, the stems would probably have enough strength to support them.

Borberad They could have just left those others alone, as you can see the buds are still developing.
Beautiful plant with great colors. Flowers were loose and fluffy, covered with many purple trichomes. All in all, a successful grow and an easy and caring plant.
