End of week one. My first grow ever of Cannabis. I am an avid gardner for vegetables and peppers. With legalization in Canada I wanted to see how well I could do as the cost of legal Marijuana is ridiculously high. Things are off to an amazing start. Three plants planted February 9th. Fourth seed (free seed Fruit Punch by Heavyweight Seeds didn't germinate. Shell was too thick and I didn't crack it open in enough time.
Explosive growth over the second week. Every day the plants are radically different. Week two they received General Hydroponics Micro and Bloom. 2ml of Micro/Gallon and 4ml of Bloom/Gallon + 2ml of Cal-Mag by Advanced Nutrients/Gallon
Starting week three and just started my LST. I have upped my nutrients for this strain by 1/3rd-1/2 of what I was going to feed them. The breeders website states this strain handles nutrients very well and I have not received any nutrient burn yet.
I am spraying them daily multiple times/day with Cal-Mag 2ml/litre of PH Balanced water.
Feeding at 3ml Micro and 6ml of Bloom plus an extra 1/3rd or 1/2 of that dose added in as well.
Starting to really notice the smell when I open the tent. After LST my first plant outside of the tent the room lingered in a beautiful Piney/weed like smell.
Starting off week 4 and the recovery from the LST I did in week three seems to be really paying off in one plant however my other two have not bushed out quite as nicely as my one plant. Will be feeding later and giving them some good recovery time before I do any additional LST to the other girls.
Starting week 5 off and the pistils are showing, buds are developing. I couldn't be happier. I wish they were taller, i'm not sure how much they will stretch between now and harvest as this is my first grow but i'm excited to find out! I scaled my nutrients back because I was seeing some nutrient burn at 4ml/Gal. Otherwise they are looking very healthy and smelling absolutely amazing and just as I remember.
Getting some clawing on some of my leaves. I honestly can't tell if this is from the fan. I have a large fan inside of the tent which may just become a house fan. I can't imagine what it would be like with four plants in there with this fan. I've upped my nutrients back to 4/4/8 ml/Gallon. I'm needing to water nearly twice daily. I'm debating adding in just some plain water to wash some of the salts out now that i'm at the half way mark. I may do this tonight. Today marks day 36! I am so proud of how well these plants are doing. They're requiring minimal training and I have defoliated some leaves and any dying leaves underneath.
My biggest plant now has it's own light as it's quite a bit taller then the other two. The main kola is very close to the light. It's not flowering as heavily as the others though I suspect it will be my largest yielder. Thanks for checking out my grow!
This was definitely the hardest part of my grow. Not knowing when to begin flushing my plants or when the harvest would be done. One phenotype matured very quickly and had a ton of hairs before the bud itself really fattened up. However it was by far my favorite smoke out of the three plants. The body high kicked my ass before I even finished smoking. A true gem. I greatly look forward to my next grow of this strain and honestly, any of the fastbuds genetics to come.
I grew three plants. One matured very fast and very early compared to my other two. This was allowed to get to about 30% amber trichomes and it is the best smoke/body high I have ever experienced. I harvested my other two plants with 100% cloudy trichomes and maybe 5% amber. The head high is fantastic and it doesn't knock me out cold. Fantastic strain. The smell is incredible.
Well, this has been my first grow. I was faced with a lot of negativity from people in my life regarding how successful I would be and I am happy to say I proved them all wrong. I was told LED lights wouldn't produce quality buds. Proved them wrong with two Viparspectra 600's. I was told I would never hit 50 grams/plant, ever. I guess they had their own failed grows or just lacked gardening experience. my plants came in at 64 grams, 70 grams and 115 grams. I could have let my two plants go longer and produce more amber on the trichomes like my first did but I am very happy with the results, the smoke, the taste. The effects are fantastic. I will absolutely grow the rest of my GSC seeds. Looking forward to grow more of their lineup.
Well done dude! It's nice to see an outdoor grower turn their hand to cannabis. Was there anything that stood out to you having watched your own plants in real-time?
Have you learned anything?
What would you do different in future grows?
💪
@Dunk_Junk, Well this is strange... I swear I replied to this comment but now it's not showing that I did. Am I crazy? haha.
The funny thing is I never used Cannabis. I did when I was younger but it just made my anxiety worse. Back then you got what they had. When it was legalized in Canada it really opened my mind to the possibilities of it's uses and I went in head first. I've gardened for years but for Cannabis it was a first.
Watching these plants in real time, I work construction. I would get home, take my work clothes off, wash my hands and head straight to the tent. Every day without fail. Even sneaking peaks in the morning and before bed. All the time really. What surprised me was how fast and drastically they could change.
I learned a TON. Before I just bought soil that had everything it needed for a 3 month course of growing vegetables and growing in coco coir was a whole other world. I was advised not to, it's for advanced growers only. I don't ever want to go back to soil.
Future grows I will start training my plants sooner and add more cal-mag. I was told I had used too much cal-mag but after chopping one of my plants and seeing the hollow core on it I realized it was a deficiency not using too much. However that plant turned out to be the tastiest, and most potent of them all.
@Dunk_Junk, Thanks! I would have started training them sooner. I think I started a bit late but the results were still great. I could have done a better job training them as well if I started earlier they probably wouldn't have been so bushy.
I had a cal mag deficiency on my runt plant which turned out to be my absolute most powerful smoke. So i'm still satisfied.
Having now harvested the three plants at different stages I really appreciate the clear head high of bud without any amber or 10%. But I personally prefer a more body stone and will let all of my future grows mature a lot more.
I have learned so much about gardening. The requirements to grow a beautiful and bountiful cannabis plant are very different then what i've done in the past. I am trying organic growing outdoor this year and am very excited to start those plants in a couple weeks. I just wish I lived in a climate where growing photoperiods outside was a realistic option but i'm just too far north.
@Ktims420, I did no topping. Only LST. I tucked all the leaves in blocking bud sites etc and started to defoliate late into flower. The later it got the more I started to really strip my plants. Once the buds had really fattened up and matured I was a little rough on them for defoliation but I never stripped them bare.
But I followed a proven nutrient cycle that From Seed To Stoned did on his budget grow on his channel. Received fantastic results. Can't wait to see how my pineapple express and stardawg turn out.
However a lot of it plays into how strong fastbuds genetics are if you grow them right. They're incredible. My other two are 2.5 weeks old and on par with where these ladies were.
Good luck on your grow!
@GandalfTheGreen, Thanks! I've been very surprised with how well they're doing and how fast they're growing. I was hoping they wouldn't have flowered yet but we'll see what kind of yield these bring.
@ChiefGrowAutoflowers, Yes. When I first started my grow it was even higher. I hit over 100f at one point because my exhaust hadn't arrived for over a week into my grow. After installing it I reset my hygrometer. I just went upstairs now to check for you. I'm sitting at 79F It hits a high of 88F and a low of 72F at night. I just installed a fan to blow the air from my LED's up to the exhaust fan.
Wow looks the most impressive , can’t believe the potential of autoflowering if you know what your doing which you clearly do . Fingers crossed I get half what you did
