Welcome to my creek of green (COG) since my house is small 36"x20"x63" I will be inline with my two sisters forming a creek rather than a sea.
I am comparing what I can get out of photo plants at roughly the same timeframes from my auto grows which is usually 12 to 16 weeks. I plan on a short 2 week veg time and then flip to 12/12. They will be potted up to 2 gal pots shortly. Flowering time is 8-10 weeks. I also will be using tap water this time as an experiment as well. I have a rotation of buckets to allow the chlorine to evaporate. Ppm of tap 180.
Trying to be conservative on energy usage. With both LED panels on, 6" oscillating fan, 6" can max inline fan pulling a total of 389 watts from wall during lights on and just 73 watts lights off.
To keep headroom to a maximum, I have mounted the 6" inline fan outside of the tent exhausted directly to a carbon filter operating in reverse. I have the 6" fan inside a cardboard box stuffed with pillows to help keep the sound down.
Day 1 - started in root riots cube and placed in solo cup fill with Canna Coco Coir from rehydrated brick. Ppm from initial runoff was outstanding. No major rinsing was required. Outstanding job Canna!!
I am excited to grow out Dinafem genetics again. I absolutely loved my Blue Cheese Auto of their genetics.
Day 5 swapped T5 for my trusty viparspectra 450. The northern lights failed to germ (bag seed anyway) so this will now be a two plant grow. Fed today
Day 7 Fed to runoff. She is growing at a furious rate. Strong plant
Day 8 Transplanted from solo cup to permanent 2 gal fabric pot. Roots had begun to grow out the drainage holes on the solo cup. Coco was pre wet with nutes in the new pot. Reduced lights on to 18 from 20 hours. Will flip to 12/12 week 3.
Day 10 very odd leaf formation. Like a webbed foot but not quite a duckfoot. Weird.
Day 12 fed. added great white to feed to boost bio growth
Day 13 transplant 5 days ago is a complete success. Plants show no signs of transplant shock and current growth is vigorous. Going to veg 2 more days and flip to 12/12
Day 14 shes doing great. Going into 12/12 tomorrow
Day 15 fed and flipped to 12/12. Increased feed ppm slightly and added silica blast. Seems tap water is working like a champ and way more convenient than filling bottles of RO
Day 17 some tip burn appearing on bottom leaves. Going to low nute flush. Nutes were old. I tossed and replaced with fresh.
Day 19 fed to runoff. Based on her rate of growth, I will probably have to use mild LST. ph slurry test 1 tsp coco from deep root zone. Mixed with 1.5tsp RO water and set for 2 hours. Root zone sample registered 6.0 ph
Day 21 fed to runoff. Flushing seemed to have halted the burn. Leaves are healthy green. Purpling of the petioles is correcting back to green. Photo taken just after lights on. Her leaves will perk up shortly.
Day 22 she has more than doubled in height the past week. Growth is outstanding and leaves are a beautiful green. She is growing like a dream at the moment. Fed to runoff. Feeding now done once per day at lights on. Was once every other day. No signs of sex yet.
Root zone Coco slurry ph test 1 tbsp coco 1.5 tbsp RO shaken and mixed thoroughl. 2 hrs waited and results are 5.9. Excellent!! Coco sample was taken before feeding.
K.I.S.S. (keep it simple stupid) method for nutes this run going great. Just using coco a+b, hydroguard to help with my benies, and silica blast to help strengthen branches and also doubles as the perfect ph buffer for my tap water. Using tap water left out for several days to de-chlorinate with a ppm of 180 has worked out great, no added calmag.
Day 23 fed to runoff
Day 24 Dory is thriving right now. Still no signs of sex. Her roommate ended up being a male and this isnt a coed dorm. Dory is now the sole resident, which may not be a bad thing and will give me more room to let her flourish. Added skeleton from my scrog to help support the tent walls from being sucked in from the exhaust fan. Fed to runoff
Day 25 fed to runoff. She grew 2" overnight. Going to begin mild lst in a few days. Still no signs of sex. Angled second led panel to help penetrate lower part of plant.
Day 26, she's finally revealed herself as a true classy lady 😁🤪😊. I know this isnt a huge deal, but since her roommate turned up male, I was worried. The other plant was not a Dinafem Moby Dick. Fed HER to run off. She has also started to be a little more fragrent this week. Smells of pepper, mint, and tomato vine.
Day 27 more and more calyx and pistils appearing and no signs of balls 👍. She is definitely drinking more, coco was still damp but pot is getting lighter each time I go to feed. May set up drip system this weekend. Fed her to runoff. She's growing about an inch per day right now. I can only go about another 5 inches and I will run out of head room. Will LST her down a bit this weekend.
Day 28 she drank herself nearly dry overnight. Installing drip system tomorrow. Fed to extra runoff since media was drier than I like it to be. Keep ppms in check. Before I install system tomorrow, I will slurry test root zone for pH. She grew another 2 inches last night for a total of 10 inches this week. She was just 4" tall at the start of 12/12 13 days ago. More pistils appearing. Due to concerns about head space and she shows no signs of slowing, I began mild lst. Removed 1 fan leaf for canopy penetration.
My growing experience is mainly with autoflowers and when it comes to breeders estimated flowering time for photo plants, when does it begin? If a breeder estimates 8 weeks, is that from 12/12 flip or from the appearance of flowers?
Hey there! The estimated week It it can vary from some breeders but most are going from the flip to 12/12. but that is with perfect conditions and how they like it being ripe. I tend to find that most are close within about 2 weeks unless you get a quick or long pheno of that strain. Plus the biggest factor in time is what your preference of Ripe is. Another thing some breeders do state that the time frame is from the first formation of flowers. Happy Growing!!
Day 29 two full weeks after going to 12/12 and she is drinking herself nearly dry daily. I forgot to soak the blumat carrot in water over night. Will be day behind setting up drip feed. She is coming along lovely and has taken well to LST so far. Leaves overall healthy in appearance and feel. Fed to extra runoff
Day 30 adjusted lst ties, fed to runoff
pH slurry test results came in at 6.0. Right on track. Ppms may have crept up a little but could be from her drinking herself dry in less than 24hrs. Fed her back into range.
Day 31 she was parched at lights on. Setting up blumats tonight. Fed to runoff. Got a little more progressive with LST. She's still stretching so I am trying to keep her as flat as I can right now. Removed 2 leaves for better light penetration.
Installed troph blumat and 3 gal res. see photos in this week. Since its drip feed, reduced ppms to 650. Will be closely watching until dialed in. Everything was sterilized with 91% iso alc.
Day 32 adjusted blumat to increase drip frequency. Pot was drier than I like it to be. Adjusted some lst points, removed 1 fan leave for increased light penetration. The smell of her buds is changing to an herbal incense green vine. Interesting to say the least. Since coco did dry out a little, I manually fed to runoff before adjusting drip rate.
Day 33 she drank nearly a gallon in 24 hours, adjusted blumat slightly again, adjusted lst points. Added 2 gal to res.
Day 34 blumat ran away over night and dumped most of the res into my drip pans. Refilled res with fresh nutes and adjusted blumats. Increased feed, ppms and pH are in range in root zone, shes just getting a bigger appetite.
Adjusted lights and lst points. Since removing a few large fan leaves, lower bud sites have exploded. Should have a decent harvest top to bottom on this one.
First day I have not recorded vertical height change. She had stayed the same height for a full 24hrs. Stretch may have finally ended @ 20 days after start of 12/12. She has filled out about 80% of the grow space (5 sqft). Amazing for only a 2 week veg before 12/12 flip.
Day 35 last day of the 3rd week since the "flip" and shes coming along right on schedule. Growth from base to main cola seems to have stalled but growth to side branches appears to be still growing. Possibly because of the 130° bend I put in her stalk. I removed 4 leaves today. I feel like I take one and she makes 5 more.
Day 36 Thought stretch was over, she grew another inch. Had to crank down lst points. She's just about filling out the footprint of the tent. Gave her maintenance flushes. Slurry test in 2 days.
Day 38 stretch may be over now. Didnt need to adjust any lst points today. Added 2 gal to res. Maintenance flush completed.

Day 39 after a good flushing and first day with out any major blumat issues and purpling petioles has halted and appears to be correcting. She may be demanding a little more P with flowering underway.
No new vertical growth stretch should be officially over now.
Day 40 maintenance flush completed. No new vertical growth. Added 2 gal to res. Her aroma is fairly faint and presents no issues for the carbon air filter.
Day 42 maintenance flush. Reduced ppms as runoff ppm is climbing to 900 within 2 days of feeding at 700ppm. Added 2 gal to res. One head scratching moment, after no growth recorded for 2 consecutive days she turned around and grew another 1.5" in 2 days. I am damn near out of head space trying to keep my leds 15" above the canopy. Other than that, she is doing great!
Day 43 purpling petioles is back. Root zone ph tests are perfect 5.9 6.0. She is fed at only 650 ppm on constant drip feed. Anything higher and was seeing some tip burn. May try low low low dose pk boost. I've read up on adding at 1/8 strength and feed middle 3 weeks can help. Think I'm going to give it a shot next reservoir change.
Day 44 res change. Implemented Canna PK boost at 10% strength. Filled res with 2 gal. Will monitor plants signals. A couple bottom leaves yellowed and died. Not concerned as the leaves where well below canopy and low light conditions.
Day 45 .75 gal consumed. All is well
Day 46 she drank another 3/4 gal last night. Maintenance flush completed. Adjusted fan to above canopy and while doing so my hand inadvertently brushed against a bud and she smells of pure lemon candy at the moment. Stunning.
Day 47 another 3/4 gal gone and the top of the coco had a few dry splotches. She's out drinking my feeder. I may have to add a second carrot to the pot.
Day 48 she drank a gal last night. I think I finally got her flowering nutes dialed back in. Initial runoff ppm coming out same as going in. Overall appearance strong and healthy. Added 3 gal to res.
Day 49 checked her at lights on and she was bone dry. Somehow got an air bubble in the drip line. Immediately drenched her. she looks fine. Fingers crossed.
Added some pics/vids of some propagators that I'm playing around with. No MJ yet, but its spring and planting my herbs and veggies.
Day 50 F35 seems to be just fine after the 1 day drought, if anything she seems to be stacking trichs even faster. She is super lemony 🍋🍋🌲delicious.
Day 51 added to gal to res.
Day 52 maintenance flush completed. Coco slurry pending results.
Day 53 Holy shitballs she had a stressful day. She did not like the increase in PK so I had to flush her out well. Somehow in the process I pumped the override on the timer and the lights went out 6 hours early. Decided to let the dark go and resume her schedule at next lights on.
Day 54 she seems ok, fingers crossed. Ditched PK for the rest of the grow.
Day 55 added 2 gal to res
Day 56 close of week 8, had to give her a good flush. ppm was running out 1800 with 690 going in. Will ph slurry test coco tomorrow.
Day 57 she is swelling up nicely. Had to tuck a few leaves to better expose lower budding sites. She went feral throwing leaves the end of the stretch. She had a rough last week and has a few battle scars but she still feels and looks strong.
Day 58 flushed and added 2 gal to res
Day 59 #%@%@% blumat had another air bubble in the line and stopped feeding some point last night. She was pretty dry. Flushed 2 gal thru to remove dried on salts. Went to Harbor Freight and picked up a 160 gph pump with 3.5ft head for $9. Im gonna figure out a DTW system and grow in larger pots for next run.
Day 61 #^#%# blumat ran away on me today and dumped res. Thankfully most was caught in drip trays. Refilled res
Day 62 maint flush and everything seems ok. Buds swelling nicely. I'm thinking about 3 more weeks and then start flushing. I'll start checking trichs probably end of next week. orange pistils have begun to slowly appear.
Day 63 damn blumats are going in the trash. It stopped dropping for no fucking reason, plant pot dry again. Res full, no clogs. its just a fucking piece of garbage gimmick. Worked semi well one grow and then its shit. Next run will be 7 gal pot and timed dtw if needed. Had to flush 2 gal to get rid of dried on salts.
Day 64 F 49 she has 7 full weeks under her belt since the flip and about 5 since the appearance of flowers. Blumat ran properly last night (knock on wood). Buds have really started the swelling process. Thinking she has about 2 maybe 3 weeks until the flushing begins. Dory has been a pleasure to grow and its not her fault for my drip system issues.
Day 65 added 2 gal to res
Day 66 lots of random "burn" spots appearing near top of plant. Checked for rot and all good there. Dunno if its battle scars from the horrendous several days she sustained from drought to flood to drought to flood to drought due to my blumats being a little B this past couple weeks. Branches are still firm, buds are heavy and she's mostly supporting herself. Maintenance flush completed.

Day 70 she is still throwing fresh white pistils daily. she has really packed on some girth this week. Way to go Dinafem Genetics!! maint flush
Please take a look at the last photo of week 10, the close up of a cola. Does this appear to be the start of a K deficiency? There is tip burn on some of the plant as well. Refer to my notes with watering issues for past 2 weeks. All nutes listed ph ppm are correct. Thanks!!
Brother you plants look perfect. You've got some kick ass budding going on there. It looks like you have the start of some light burn. If you notice its the sugar leaves closest to the light. With LEDS lights directly under the middle of the light is the strongest. You can either back off your light a bit or try rearranging themso the taller ones are to the sides or back. Looks like you only have 2-3 weeks till harvest you should be good. Good luck.
Day 71 F 56 pistils have started to darken a little more, about 15 to 20%. When it looks closer to 50/50 I'll start checking with my loupe. Buds are getting heavy and weighing down some of the smaller branches. may need yo-yo or craft something up.
Side note, found a spider mite outside in the garden on some catnip. Clean room procedures here on out. Ordered a ton of lady bugs to release on my property.
Day 72 maint flush and added 2 gal to res
Day 73 more and more pistil die back, i would say she's a third orange. Probably start checking trichs this weekend. I used my loupe checking out spidermites in the yard. Idiot. Waiting for a new one to arrive in the mail.
Day 74 maint flush. added 2 gal to res
Day 75 at about 50% dieback. Loupe will be delivered sometime today. Branches are getting pretty heavy.
Day 76 maint flush. Added 2 gal to res
Day 77 we are close, but no cigar. Under the loupe shes still heavily clear around 50%. I'm guessing about another week and then start flushing. I'll be checking her daily. Pistils have really picked up the pace of dying back. Still appears to be shooting a couple fresh pistils daily still. Branches are definitely going to need some support if they go much longer. Shes sticky as hell and smells like lemon candy. Not super strong, good for stealth ops.
Day 78 maint flush and added 2 gal to res. Fewer new white pistils popping up, majority are fading if not already orange. Trichs are still not cloudy enough for my liking. I'm thinking this is the final week and flushing will begin.
Day 80 maint flush, added 1.5 gal to res. She is still a bit more on the clear vs cloudy side but some ambers are also starting to appear. I would put her at 5% amber, 40% clear, 55% cloudy. Still many perky white pistils, but their numbers are lessening. Will continue feeding until she's about 75-80% cloudy.
Day 82 F 67 she has really gone cloudy the past couple days and even a good handful of ambers. Placed her on flush of ph tap.
Day 84 F 69 2nd day of flush and shes still trucking along unfazed. I didnt manually flush the media so there is some salt build up. I did this by design to stretch out the flushing time.
Day 86 F 71 Flush 5 - still holding up well, trichs are majority cloudy with some clears and some ambers. If the ambers pick up pace, I'll take her down pronto, otherwise I prefer to let her go in peace. Added 2 gal h2o
Day 88 she's showing her fade, probably a few more days to go. Added 2 gal h2o

Wow, after a short 14 day veg and 91 days overall, Dory has been laid to rest. Unfortunately I was unable to get any glamour shots outs of the tent, after removing my lst points and branch supports, when I got her out of the tent her heavy branches just buckled over. My god the buds are dense as dense as dense could be. I've never grown as dense a bud before, holy hell these things are heavy. I did end up with more than I would have liked of popcorn stuff, but the canopy was thick and I didnt keep up the defoiling like I should have. Its all good anyways as it will grind up just fine in the trim pile.
Overall she was extremely easy to grow and was resilient to some hiccups with the drip feed system. I really wish I could have given her much more than 5 sq ft because I'm sure she could has easily add another 400g wet.
With the density of the colas, its probably gonna take a bit to dry and I think I'm gonna have to use my 4L cvault to fit the bigger buds in. I haven't had much of a chance to sample her yet, so my flavor, scent, effect, etc will be changing over the next few weeks.0000
